However, Eli and Favre certainly fall in the same tier—I'd rather roll the dice that my QB would not get injured than have two QBs in the same skill bracket and skimp on a starter's spot elsewhere. Yardage will be about the same, only edge might be that Eli might have a bit better TD;INT numbers, and his team will likely be playing from behind more. I thought the Giants would come back to the run this year, but with the Jacobs bit, their depth at WR and the shaky line, I don't know.
Flip for a RB if anything. Vick can certainly land you #2RB/Flex guy, if not heads up than definitely with Dez or someone else marginal packaged in. I'd sell the shit outta Vick now if I had him.
I also don't care for the Bronco passing attack at all. First Gaffney was a #1. Then it was Lloyd. Now it's back to the kid. And none of those QBs perk my interest at all. Yeah, I definitely feel where you're coming from, but QB is very heavily weighted in our league. 1 pt/ 25yds. 6pt/TD. -2/Turnover. So having a better QB is better than having a #2 HB. But I see where you're coming from. People in this league are really reluctant to trade though... I mean MAYBE I can move Vick for McFadden, but I don't trust McFadden over JStew/Donald Brown at all. Maybe I could move Vick for LT, or package with a WR for Gore. That'd be fucking sick, and I'm going to try that right now actually. So I proposed a move of Vick/JStew/Dez for Gore. Well yeah, QB is def worth more. I just think Favre will = Eli and both >>>> Vick. I think Eli is close to his 09 stats than his 08, which is right in Favre's neighborhood. He's gotten better each year and they pass more now. That's a fairly enticing deal for Gore, depending on what the rest of his roster looks like. And you hate Gore! I feel you on trades though. People are either super reluctant or fucking idiots. My inbox yesterday: I get Slaton and VD for Mendenhall and Witten. I just proceded to reply with nothing but obscenities and send him multiple offers for Anthony Gonzales for his best guys. Fuckers. I disagree with Lemon on above. That's a team that just hasn't hit stride yet. I'd wait other week before you panic and start trading shit. I don't think Run DMC is gonna light the world on fire, but I don't think he sucks. That team is slowly getting better. The bigger threat there is Bush, not DMC's lack of skills. I also don't think he gets you a very good WR, and I'd rather have a back getting more carries than a 2 or 3 WR.
ROFL. Omg, that's seriously cracking me up.
Yeah, that team is in fucking shambles man.
Sanchez, Hass Felix Jones, Gore, LT, Greene Jennings, Ward, Manningham, Holmes Shockey, Carlson Giants D, Redskins D 2 HC's (SO POINTLESS OF A POSITION! Why carry two?)
Somehow, she's 1-1, but that team is NOT built to last at all. Gore is the only high point of it, with the way that Rodgers spreads the ball.
See, now DMac is a guy I hate. He's a pure north/south runner (although I like to call it front/back, or straight ahead, because some fields face east/west, but I digress), with average (at best) COD skills, he isn't very elusive, and he can't break tackles. He's just fast. Compare him to CJ, they run about the same speed, but CJ has nasty agility... he breaks dude's ankles with his COD skills. McFadden tries to run past them and gets caught.
With the strength that he as at HB, especially with DWill riding the pine right now, I'd personally look to boost my WR corps while my (imo, shit HB) is hot. He does this every fucking year. He has like 4 big games, and lands you 4 points the rest of the time. I'd rather see if I could move him for a good WR.
On September 24 2010 06:01 carpola wrote: Very sound advice. I was actually going to trade McFadden after this week. Who do you think would be a solid WR trade?
We've only got 10 in our league, if that says anything.
Sweet, can you post your (or one of your team's) lineups? It'd be cool to see how you're running it.
I just posted it a few posts above your on page 43. My team is kinda weak this year, imo. I've had much better. Somewhere in here I posted during my draft, and everything that was going through my head at the time. That's mostly for me, because I'll want to know just wtf I was thinking when I made some bad picks. : D
It's hard to say who to look for, because you have to try and move to a team that has a HB need. If no one that has a HB need has WR's that you want, then don't trade him. But sell him as high as possible.

Ah nice, thanks. I'm just getting discouraged this year because I have a fair sound running core, but I'm not getting any results. I've hit like max 60 points so far on ESPN. Of course, we're only into the 3rd week.

I'm really not sure if I should try to offer him some sort of trade, given that I feel like stud #1 WRs are really hard to come by... but then again so are stud #1 RBs, which he has an obvious surplus of. Taking note that I'm somehow #1 in my league at the moment despite my string of 1st round pick fails continuing... wondering if people would actively try to pursue this line or if they'd stand pat ;x hmm, i just dumped jstew and barber to a guy for dmac. starting with ap, bradshaw and dmac now, woot. Why in god's name would you drop stewart?? He's gone in the first three rounds in virtually every league and he's always started out slow. This is gonna be a long year for them. John Fox is done in NC.
this, when you can't even perform against the buccaneers, you know something is wrong. anyway, if shit happens and jstew just gets that stick out of his ass and performs again, i won't be too bitter. not that much on the line anyway (the league i'm playing in).

Yeah, don't freak too much in week three. I started 1-3 one year and finished 9-5 and made the playoffs, so anything can happen. You absolutely have a solid team, but I stand by what I said.

Yeah, I felt the same way. I was like "this is gonna be a monster week for JStew, I'mma get high points!" I got high points, but no thanks to JStew... all thanks to Mike Vick though.

We do a weekly 5dollar pool of 6NFL games and 6College games and this week the NFL matchups are:
Dallas v Houston x Detroit v Minnesota x Oakland v Arizona x NYJ x v Miami San Fran x v Kansas City
Just for shits and giggles the College games are
South Carolina x v Auburn Arkansas vs 'Bama x UCLA v Texas x Stanford x v Notre Dame Centeral Michigan v Northwestern x Virgina Tech v Boston College x California v Arizona x
The tie breaker is Green Bay v Chicago by guessing the score which I put as 31 - 17 GB.

Super excited this week because it's Bears vs Packers. Woot woot! Packers fan? Was that you who I corrected in their quote? I'm actually a Bears fan
And I don't post that much here so I don't think I'm the person you're talking about...or then again maybe I am...I actually have no idea what your talking about actually. lol~

Someone said go Packers, and I said "Fuck the Packers" in their quote, fixing it for them. So yeah, I'm stoked for MNF this week. My BFFF is huge Packers fan, so I'm hoping I get to rub a 4TD 350 yd performance from my boy all in his face. I'm also hoping Rodgers eats shit HARD Monday night.

I hope Rodgers bombs too only because my opponent has him, but you know and I know he's going to have a big game. All I could ask is that if he throws it all over CHI's secondary he gets it to Jennings every time.

Yeah, he'll probably produce similarly to Romo, minus the INT's. Still, I'm hoping Peppers can sprain a second shoulder this week. : D There's an investment that's paying of so far.
Damn I wish people were more active in my league. I put that trade in like two hours ago, and no response. Wtf? I'm looking at shit every couple of minutes here... probably due to working on a computer all day though.

Okay, so should I start Marques Colston vs. Atlanta or Hines Ward vs. TB?
Drew Brees likes to spread the ball a lot but Colston consistently gives ~7 points. Not to mention Reggie Bush is out so I believe Brees will be airing the ball out even more to the receivers.
The Steelers' passing game, on the other hand, is balls, but one of the Bucs' starting safeties is out. If anyone's getting passes, it'll be Ward. What to do?

Reggie Bush is always out- I wouldn't exactly expect there to be much difference, Pierre Thomas is quite capable.

I'd play Colston, because the Steelers can't pass well. Although Leftwich is starting, and he's a significantly better passer than Dixon is. Still, like you said, no Bush = more passes to WR's. Historically (which means nothing, but people still like it), he does pretty well against ATL too.

He's good, but he's not as good a pass catcher, or as good in open space as Bush is. He is a way better runner, though.

Actually, Charlie Batch has been confirmed to start, not Leftwich. =O But I doubt that changes things.
So I suppose my starting three will be Colston, Demaryius Thomas, and Collie. Going for high risk high reward.

That's great news for Ward and Wallace IRL, and their owners. Batch was great when he stepped in for Ben the first time around, I figured they'd give him more reps this time, and he'd start the first 4 games, but they didn't. Batch is solid.
But, I think that's the best chance of succeeding are the three you've picked. They definitely have the most stable QB's. Thomas should see the most targets, and I think Peyton is going to have a field day on that Denver D.

What do you guys think about brandon jackson. I was offered him for Jay Cutler ( i already have Brady as my starter). Jackson isnt really a full time back and splits alot of carries. I guess he's a good flex, and on one of the most potent offenses, but i don't know. He's also been injured alot in his career.

Value wise, Cutler is way more valuable than Brandon Jackson as of right now in my opinion . Cutler isn't proving himself to be the interception machine that a lot of people expected him to be. Cutler would be starter for most owners, whereas Jackson is 2nd or 3rd RB at best. I think with Cutler, you can get a better deal than just Brandon Jackson.

Would there be any sort of legit reason as to start Clayton or Walter over Ochocinco? I think not, as Carolina is overall dreadful, but if there is one, please do say.

I just traded kevin walter and ahmad bradshaw for shonn greene and hakeem nicks. What do you guys think?
