Eagles fans should appreciate Vick for taking them that far, and putting together a MVP season, which was also extremely entertaining. GO VICK I agree. I put the blame on Andy Reid for the ball not getting spiked on that play. He either called a pass or he called nothing. Vick and/or his receiver did make a mistake but tons of good players would make tons of mistakes if their coaches constantly put them in shitty positions. Perhaps Vick wanted to stop the clock but that isn't the time for him to disobey his HC
Yeah, Vic will be given more responsibility next sure i'm sure, but I think he did excellent for his first year back. You can really see a difference in his approach to the game and his attitude towards it. I think the biggest thing is that he is no longer just a "running back who throws the ball", but is a quaterback with a genuine running threat.
Very sad he didn't win but looking forward to next season.

The Eagles will be the same schlocky team next year. A team with very questionable defense and an offense that masks it's shortcomings by oohing us with explosive plays. They are a regular season team and nothing more as long as Reid and an athlete (not QB) run the show. In the playoffs they will always get exposed if they keep using the formula they've had the last few years.

Reports are coming in now that Kolb wants to be moved if Vick is re-signed. Let the speculation begin!

You can't blame him, why would he want to sit around?

locker isn't going to drop down to the 2nd-3rd. edit: actually on second thought, depends on how well newton shows off his useless talents in the championship tonight.

I expect QB's to be overvalued in this draft, simply because of what Sam Bradford did for the Rams.
|
I can see him going low first or high second. I think it depends on if someone moves Kolb. There are quite a few QB needy teams out there, so someone is going to reach and then they will all start to fall.

QBs are going to be overvalued in the draft, always have been ever since Ryan/Flacco brought their teams to the playoffs. Even more so than Sanchez, and Bradford, as GMs want a quick fix to their teams to have a shot in the playoffs to protect their jobs, but most teams are not built for this, as they have several issues to fix.
With that said, Newton's bowl game will matter somewhat, and there are a lot of QB needs for many teams in the draft.

I think you're starting a bit too recently for QB's being overvalued in the draft. JaMarcus Russel went #1 overall, ffs. QB is always an overvalued position in the draft. It always has been, and always will be. Most GM's don't understand that even amazing QB's need help from other players--they can't do it all alone.

It doesn't help that there are usually hordes of stupid fans telling them to draft a QB.

Well Harbaugh played against Locker a lot in the Pac-10 so let's see if he thinks he is good enough to draft him...

I don't think many people were hollering for Tebow in the first.

Where Locker goes in the draft probably will depend a lot on pro days and the combine.
|
There were fans calling for Tebow to be drafted in Jacksonville and Miami due to his many fans in Florida. In fact, fans would probably attend the games just to watch Tebow rather than the team to fill up the stands.
Most fans want a competent QB because they are far and few between in each draft. Also, QBs are the most visible position in the team, as they are the anchor for the offense.

I mean, most competent person that watched any sort of sports (for the most part) never thought Tebow would make a good NFL QB, but that didn't stop Florida fanboys and SEC fanboys in general from singing his praises.

What's the deal with that dude exactly? I have zero interest in the massive waste of time that is college football so I've never seen him play.
Is he just some big strong guy who can bully 20 year olds around?

He's 6'6 and weighs like 230 pounds. He's huge. But yeah, he pretty much just bullies college kids. He has the same problems that Tebow had: not in a pro-style offense and has serious mechanics issues.
