Just so we can see the guy streaming alt-f4 out of the game when something scares the shit out of him lol.
You can't stream this game, it must be played by itself. You don't want to see it unless you play it b/c it ruins the experience.

If anyone has watched HotshotGG from League of Legends, he streamed the demo
It was hilarious watching him play vs invisible water monster and then quit

Penumbra was awesome, if this is anything at least mildly resembling, it shouldn't be a fail

I did the exact same thing, i've never pressed alt+f4 more quickly in my life.
On another note I'm probably going to buy this game, I love being scared

+ Show Spoiler +for those who thought the water part in the demo was intense, wait 'till you make it to Storage in the full game. It scares me so much my soul hurts.

I can't even explain how immersing this game is. Its like when you read a good book and you are in the book, the game is like that. You really need to make sure you have A) No distractions (people, pets, phone, IM) B) Darkness and right computer gamma C) Alone D) The right mindset, let it take you in E) Sound ( I have Sennheiser Audiophile headphones) TL:DR This isn't a GAME its living through a horror movie with gameplay as a way to interact. This is a game that is art, just like SC is art, except this focuses on the experience rather than on skill or strategy. Sounds like a lot of work to enjoy a game haha. I might check this out when steam has a sale i guess.

That said, + Show Spoiler [ending spoilers] +The whole story was kind of weird. I think it seemed a lot more promising before they started referencing magic, and I'm not really sure what Agrippa wanted you to throw his head in the portal for... I guess I should play again and pay closer attention. I liked Penumbra's story better, but Amnesia's certainly wasn't bad.. And the gameplay was better.

they really know how to build suspense. Its like 10 rooms of spookiness and 1 monster so you never know when its coming...
I'm slightly past the first prison part (more like dungeon) and an enemy scared the crap out of me and ate me. When I reloaded the enemy wasn't there... random spawns?
Also I don't get the AI... I assumed it would be like Penumbra but its not. They can see u in the dark not moving? Can they sense you? I don't even know what the things are since I'm too scared to look.
I'm also confused about the latern and stuff... I don't use it b/c I need the dark to hide from monsters... so its extra spooky...
I think I've reached my fear limit tonight from it... probably finish it tomorrow.

Nice surround sound speakers are the best in my opinion. Also, you can't beat when the powerful subwoofer shakes the ground under your feet with the game!
Playing the game right now, and the sounds play a huge role in how creepy the game can get.
Has anyone noticed when you leave a room with a piano, it starts playing? All the random footsteps from the floor above you, creaks, etc... Don't play this game unless you have your sound on.

Anyone who can play this game at 3 AM at night has big balls, that's all I gotta say

never shat myself so much in a game seriously... but the ending(s) was(were) soooooooooo bad.
edit: you know what's weird though? that part that they show in the trailer isn't actually in the game, the humanoids also look different. I was playing the game always expecting to get to that scary part where you have to hide from that monster lol.

I havent died from one of those things yet so i dont know if it randomly spawns. I do notice that once they appear and u successfully get away, you wont see them at that same spot anymore. But ill have to agree with the whole 10 pitch black rooms with 1 monster. Even when you hide from that mother fucker once you know hes still walking around somewhere lol.
The game also said you can hide in the dark, just dont look at them since your insanity will raise even quicker and it'll begin to notice you. Although ive never hid in the dark without hiding behind atleast something i dont know if that will actually work. Dont got the balls to test it out either
I like the latern though. I feel more safe.

Did i not say the point is to see the guy playing alt-f4 out of them game when something scares him sh!tless?
And it probably won't ruin your experience (gonna be a damn shame not having figuring out those puzzles for yourself though). How many of you here watched the trailers/demo on youtube and still got scared playing through the SAME level?
|
Edit: Wrong button. Again.

I can last maybe 2 hours playing this game at night with headphones on / lights off. It is by far the only game that can constantly make me shit myself. I've yet to really have any problems with the monster. After the demo I understood what to do and just have fun figuring out the puzzles.

lol this looks really scary, i don't know if i will be able to play this in the dark where i play everything else D:

I would like to use light more but then I feel its harder to hide from the monsters, and the light actually has LESS vision than when your eyes adjust to the dark. Well you can see farther in the dark but see closer w/ latern.
I was in the dark and a monster appeared at the top of a staircase, I was hiding and not looking at it but it killed me (although I was only against a wall). I guess it just makes it more scary not knowing how the monsters can see/react/sense.

Think of the childish immature days of 2 - 4 year olds covering their eyes with only hands and repeating "You can't see me." That's basically how the monsters work.
Also, if you're spotted, sprint to a load screen door if possible. If not just round a corner, break line of sight in the dark and just crouch and lift a box or barrel and hide behind it. It's been working for me so far.
Be really careful sprinting while one is near by he will sense you and start chasing the sound until he spots you.

im probably gonna buy this game and play it with some of my friends at their house at night. gonna be goddamn awesome i tell you.
