I lose quite some toughness, but the all-rune slow time is worth soooo much in terms of not getting hit in the first hand, and increases DPS a fair bit. Actually, same thing for the tal-rasha stacks... is the hydra snap-shotted with the tal-rasha stacks I have at cast, making ite very important I have 4 stacks + arcane dynamo when I cast it?
I play quite a lot in teams (which is why I don't have unity), and the others love the slow time obviously, and less toughness is less of an issue if there's a tank on the team, or at least people around to res me.
All in all the build has a silly amount of cc now with blizzard, stun-teleport (use with care!), black hole and slow time.
hydra is updated dynamically with your damage, so that goes for your slow time ias rune, f/r procs, talrasha buffs, etc. the only thing that is snapshotted for hydra is the arcane dynamo 60% buff at 5 stacks, so once you hit 5 stacks then you should put down a hydra. it should also be the only reason why you're running electrocute (fast arcane dynamo stacks). otherwise running piercing orb shockpulse does more overall damage and allows you to position yourself much better. personally i don't feel you need that much lockdown; between blizzard and slow time point of no return you should have no trouble locking mobs down.
also as you already have a decent ss, you should be trying to get tasker/theo, but that messes with your current gear setup. i find that under gr 35 your meteors should do most of the damage anyways, hydras aren't really worth the time to set up as everything tends to blow up before your hydras really ramp up. I really just use them for tanky elite mobs and the gr, but even those die ridiculously quick if your meteor rotation is off icd. between the arcane and fire meteors you can hit over 2.5b on a single mob easily with just 2 stacks of tal's.
I'm somewhat miffed that playing hc doesn't allow for me to really go glass cannon and stretch my build to the max as I feel pressured to include the firbird 2set when I'm trying to push rifts. I've died on solo gr 35 without a firebird set so I've learned my lesson i guess.

not sure when that spreadsheet is from, but didnt they recently change drop rates on the rarest items to make them drop more? i wonder if that also affected kadala's gambling rates.
Currently running a Phalanx Crusader. I really like the idea of shooting horses so I want to try improve on this build more.
I currently only can run up to GR 33~ or so, maybe higher. I finish with about 5-6 minutes left. Idk what to spend shards on atm, so far Im torn between getting a better Phalanx shield or just going YOLO for a Furnace.
I'm 25k blood shards into trying to gamble for a focus ring, still no luck. Also closing in on P450 and haven't had one drop(thus the gambling). Up to 30 Restraints though!
On that note, I was gambling them because I thought I'd need the damage boost to get GR40 on my DH(40 is my goal for each class, as I mentioned earlier about my WD, although I might up that for Barb and DH since they seem so much easier), but had a really nice ancient Odyssey drop, swapped out Evasive Fire for Entangling, and got 41 done with ~1:30 left on a pretty shitty rift(almost RIP'd to a nasty Winged Assassins pack). So 25k shards kind of wasted, although I still want an int one for my Wiz when I make it, so still somewhat salty that I didn't just get one that I can roll between Dex<->Int.

I'd go for Ancient set pieces before blowing it on weapons from Kadala. T-T Unless the Furnace is Ancient, I don't see it being better than your Ashbringer.
theyve bumped up the drop rate of the rarest tier of items substantially since last season. given the shorter season this time around i would not be surprised if the rate has been further increased.
the wife gambled an ancient furnace last night out of fucking nowhere. She had 75 shards left, and thought she'd yolo a 2h gamble trying to get a new ancient IK mace (yep, she already had 1, but RIP) and boom, Ancient Furnace 4000 dps, str, vit, attack speed. Can easily reroll dmg and gift for god tier furnance.
insane.
Oh that reminds me, any barb experts out there?
Should she continue to use a non-ancient IK weapon to keep 6/4 + convention of elements? Or should she switch to 6 waste, focus/restraint + furnace? Would using the furnace make up for the lack of perm WOTB with the 4pc IK?

Thanks for information! I agree with everything you say otherwise.
I agree that TNT probably is better at high GRs, and I put all my shards into gloves. You are right that the hydras don't get the time to really shine at lower GRs, but our team is pushing 45+ now (softcore ofc) and I feel that both the extra CC from slow time (the monk enjoys it) and hydra DPS will become increasingly wanted. Black hole is for grouping up mobs for melee characters, and more importantly for arcane sentries etc. Hopefully I'll find TNT soon and I can report back how the two versions compare. In solo though, I assume TNT wins easily.

alkaizer says switch to raekors/charge. he doesnt think a furnace is that good for waste/whirlwind.

is alk using f/r with raekor/charge or is he using like unity/convention/soj?

i dont think he is bothering to do high gr yet. he is just leveling his char with whirlwind and ancient bulkathos plus f/r while gambling for an ancient furnace. he has stated he intends to go for high gr with raekors because whirlwind has no cc or survivability. i dont know what rings he will be using; i imagine it will be unity/soj, but have no idea.
edit: his most recent equipment for raekors shows f/r

125%, they're both separate multipliers, so the first one activated gets the boost from the second. Normally I'd say that's pedantic but an additional 25% is no minor detail.
im not sure who's right as you're using two different expressions, but f/r is just a straight 2.25x multiplier to all damage when you have both of them up
also
if you overlook his retarded yelling and shit this is pretty funny

o, i stand corrected. i read somewhere that the cumulative effect is 100%.

Interestingly enough, for crusader in HC as you start getting really high Grift you go back to Convocation of Elements/Double Unity - Shield slam really doesn't need the damage.
I decided to finally complete my roland's, and kadala was nice enough to assist me. Holy cow, whole new world, T6 instantly became a breeze. It needs some getting used to to the shield bash though, because it can be used VERY badly, I think I'm gonna try to gamble that shield which reduces SB's cost because my wrath-management is just terrible.

Would not recommend trying to gamble a Crafted shield.

Yeah lol I figured that out after dumping tons of shards into shields trying to get it. Anymore I always check up the item I want before I make that mistake again.
Good news though I got the plan last night on my WD after 165p levels considering making a Crusader again.
