Is that considered okay to go with for high level GRs? Currently the best wizard build for high GRs is using the Firebirds set with this build. Hydra is not the main feature, but it is used for extra dmg on bosses and elites mainly. It revolves around the 6 set bonus DoT of Firebirds to kill everything. As for a hydra focused build you really need to use the Serpent's Sparker wep to get the 2nd hydra, and then it's basically the same fire build as above, still using Firebirds. The only other hydra build that I know of is a frost one that uses Frostburn Gauntlets, Winter's Flurry, and Rimeheart so is even outside of my gearing capabilities over paragon 500. And it's not even a good build, just okay and fun to mess with. So to sum up: if you want to use hydra for high GR you've got to go the standard Firebirds route, otherwise it just won't be that good of a build. Hydra is just one of those skills they tried to buff a little but is still pretty terrible. It's only used with Firebirds because it's super low AP cost can squeeze in some extra damage where every other skill takes too much AP to keep Blizzard up.

Season 1 was just such a long drought of any updates or word from Blizzard I had lost hope for a while. If they keep this rate of content and seasons up it should be great. I just want them to calm down a bit and not make every set a 6+ piece and let us mix and match some 4 piece sets together.

I was super concerned with how Season 1 had so many growing pains attached to it, as well as the lackluster (imo) Diablo III Blizzcon compared to their other franchises (easily the weakest panels of 2014). But yeah, I hope they keep it up. My only gripe was Season 2, was that the Season 3 PTR was released like 1 week into Season 2, so it kinda killed all the hype of Season 2, while at the same time getting me super pumped for Season 3. So I hope they delay showing off their cool stuff they have for the next content patch/Season 4. Also something I hope gets brought up in the next Tavern talk, if they're going to nerf something/fix an exploit, I think that is grounds for a score reset. At least the top percentile of scores so people have a shot of making it.

Am I missing something or is it just something you have to put up with while playing season?

Wizards are getting a new set that revolves around slow time and arcane orb, Tal Rahsha's is being buffed massively and getting 2 additional pieces, Firebird's is getting a new set bonus to make any fire spell do an explosion of damage around the targets, and the most important one is some new boots that increase the damage of meteors by like 90-100%. Those boots stack so well with Tal Rasha's that it makes the current Firebird's look like a crafted set.

Am I the only one who thinks that x% damage increase is completely irrelevant to how much fun a character is? If they increased the radius, reduced the resource cost, made them have a suck-in-effect or added anything I can notice or that changes the way I play, things would be a lot more interesting... €: Also, didn't take long for the item shop to affect the game in a positive way. They announced it and at the same time increased the speed of adding new content dramatically. One has to assume they're expecting a good deal of cash from this and thus allocated more resources to Diablo. I like that.

You are right that just adding x% damage isn't in itself fun, but when it opens up other builds, then I'm on board.

If either the new Tal Rasha or the Delsere's set can make FO viable again, I know I'll be playing a Wizard in S3.
