to bad some people felt different about this when it came to the auction house. I think after the whole drop rate adjustments we can probably say that the game would have been fine with the AH if it had present day drop-rates. Tho then you have the issue of people completing BiS sets to quickly and running out of things to do. with the new buff rates, its too easy to complete BIS sets and run out of things to do. i got bored once i had complete vyrs/tal rasha set on my wiz, and akkhans on my crusader. i still drop like shit, I'm only pl260 but i only have 1 piece vyr, 0 piece tal, 1 piece akkans. life is hard.

i want the ladders to come so that i can switch to DH and not feel like i am wasting my time with a low level character.

so if i have the furnace in my inventory as a DoT/jade doctor and i switch to it against a guardian, can i just tag them with the DoTs then switch back to sunkeeper + unkapian serpent and still get the health shred to tick?

How do you know the Furnace affix is a DoT? Can you tell when it's applied? I'm under the impression that it's a proc and you keep using the Furnace until the guardian dies.

edit: the proc reapplies as DoTs continue to tick right? not on cast?

Probably had my best day ever today. FINALLY got my RROG and I found my first ever thunderfury.
Is it just me or is it hard to find a game in the clan channel these days? Did you guys all quit playing?

I may have accidentally been participating in the new D2 LOD ladder season.

game gets too repetitive and boring. i moved on to hardcore.

I have to agree with above. I love the game for what it is, don't get me wrong. I just have probably OD'd a bit trying to get myself into T4+ (comfortably, my toughness seems to be the weak link on my WD). Also semi-annoying is the pl180-pl300 without getting Tasker and Theo, ever, much to my ire.
I found myself at the point where I could reliably farm T2 with just the mouse (Hhhehhehe) with minor need for spirit walk in T3 (mostly reflect damage) and doing that religiously to farm out the T&T has been mind numbing. I would try the jade set but no RORG either =\ and 1 piece to go for the 6-bonus. Just need a little break I guess.
If anyone is playing d2 as well PM me or something to maybe meet up on there. 60 necro failing at nightmare Baal right now so I need to solve that somehow.

I'm starting to get a bit burned out as well. Ive got 4 classes that can do t4+, and the other 2 (monk/wd) I don't care much about. The end-game item hunt is just non-existent right now when all you can do is farm the same way over and over and hope you get exactly the right item you need.

Just out of curiosity, when you guys say "reliably farm" and "can do" torment X, what do you mean? For me it just doesn't seem profitable (in terms of legendaries per hour) to go above T1 with my wiz. I don't have BiS gear in every slot, but not that bad either, and I dont even feel close to do T2 within 15% of the time I do T1. I "can do", and in some sense of the word "reliably farm" T2, but it'd be a waste of time in terms of legs/hour, which is everything we care about right?
So just wondering what T you guys farm when you want to be efficient. Maybe it is different for different classes, or maybe my gear is worse that I think.

Relative to T1, T2 is basically also limited by how fast (slow) I can move and less so how much damage I do. For instance on T1/T2 I can cast Insect Swarm / Plague Rune on any white pack and it's basically dead or dying as I walk in whatever direction I'm heading. T3 is a few primary casts and relies more on the fetish sycophant damage than the lower difficulties, lots more stutter step casting additional toads with a similar effect but it's more effort. T4 needs both hands driving and full attention and is definitely a lot slower (thanks mostly to how pets take up space and some will tend to derp around) since toads is pretty weak damage and plague gets replaced with piranhas for the damage boost.
The idea behind it is "how much slower am I clearing compared to how much more MF I get" so for example you can use metric of time to clear a rift: If the time you take to clear an additional torment level is a higher percentage than the MF % gain based on the level of comparison it's not worth it. Too lazy to look at the actual numbers but if T1 is 100% MF and T2 is 115% MF but you take more than 15% longer (difference of .15 over the original value of 1.00) to clear just farm T1 instead of T2.
My experience is that four player games on a low torment level can make it rain legendary items compared to soloing higher difficulties but that's personal subjective anecdote and not evidence.

I'm not saying that as a troll, I love d2 but it seems like a ladder reset is rather meaningless at this state because BOTs are so prevalent. I truly wonder if I should play, and if I do, if I have to bot.

I truly wonder if I should play, and if I do, if I have to bot. IDK I just used it as an arbitrary way to get back into the game for a bit. I did some single player last year mid-season but I like having access to some of the ladder-specific runewords. I'm sure there are quite a few bots running as far as winning the ladder rank is concerned, and there's the spam bots as usual trying to hock shit in public games making it somewhat hard to communicate with other players. I also felt that the normal-difficulty scene is pretty much a bunch of solo players looking to maybe get an XP boost in a multi-player party but the cooperation is loose and not very effective IMO.
I'm not sure on the state of drops, I'm sure the rates are the same as always so if the speed of normal farming wasn't your thing before it's probably going to feel like botting is still needed. For some casual playing I don't feel the need and if I want to muck around with fun gear and tweaked items there's always the single player mods to feel super OP.
To answer your question, probably not without D2JSP or spending some time in public games named "Pgems for HR" or whatever the conversion rates are these days (don't really know). It's the same old diablo with a smaller crowd, is all.

The actual number is whatever speed you can average on T1, +15% per torment level. Shards aside, this is the most efficient timewise for legendaries. Experience/gold is considerably more generous, and time can go up quite a bit.
10-15 is a good time to aim for while soloing, and in a group you should strive for sub-10min clears on the highest torment you can run without dying too much.
