Also, wouldn't it vary based on base weapon speed and other factors? Since it's situational, yeah, the specifics matter. Which was kind of why I wanted them.

So how exactly does that work? people are saying you finish normal difficulty at around 30, so then it will be like a "New Game+" kind of thing? and enemies and loot will scale with you through the difficulties? Also, just wondering what everyones thoughts were on the longevity of D3, since D2 had randomly generated dungeons, it was cool to just keep trying for lvl.99, but since D3 i dont think is randomly generated, seems like it will get boring just getting to lvl 60 with the same looking dungeons and such. As someone who didnt play all to much D2, what was it that kept the game going so long? like, i feel like maxing out all classes to lvl 60, shouldnt take all that long, whats there to do that im missing. Yeah i havent slept yet, so i dont know if that made any sense. Thanks in advance for any answers tho lol , great game either way.

The only thing I can think of is that you get more damage per resource, but that doesn't seem good enough to use 2-handers over dual-wielding to me. All classes cannot dual wield.

D2 didn't have randomly generated anything besides the zones not being exactly the same every time. D3 has random events through out the game meaning random additional quests in between the main objectives. Diablo is and has always been rather linear though. If you were thinking you had a sandbox to play in you were wrong.

Just bought myself a nice 1H Rare Xbow for a measly 4K as buyout price ^_^ This was probably a mistake on the sellers part as Xbows like this go for around 50-100K on EU, but I fukken love it ^_^

You start a new game with stronger foes and better loot. I think that D3 is also randomly generated, not 100% sure. Reaching 60 is relatively easy but beating Inferno, not so much. Can't really say what kept D2 going, but I think D3 will be the same. People just like to collect stuff, try to get better and cooler items and such... and I think that the drop rate for rare items in D3 is lower than D2.

Well i knew it was somewhat linear and wasnt expecting Skyrim or anything, but why were people still playing D2 for so long, is it just loot runs or something? or pvp? yeah im a noob when it comes to this, just trying to get the most of the game, and get a better understanding.

That's besides the point. What's with all the weak 2-handed monk weapons?

The two handed weapon I'm using on my Wichdoctor is significantly stronger than any one hander I've found, but if I could dual wield those one handers they would indeed be stronger assuming you get 100% dps from each. The slower casting speed is a bitch to get used to though.

D2 had easy leveling (Uber Tristam power leveling or Baal runs) D2 had easy to acquire gear (runewords) that was incredibly strong because of the proliferation of duping and botting those above 2 elements made the game very accessible to play (low grind) and not much of a challenge (unless playing Hardcore) most of the people that kept playing D2 loved the PvP and min/maxed the hell out of everything wanting perfect stats on every item and charm. could also try to min/max for MF as well or play unorthodox builds because acquiring decent gear (except for near perfect/perfect) wasn't too difficult due to item deflation from duping/botting

ACT 2 IS A FUCKING DESERT??? Complete with stinging swarms, cliff jumpers, and the snake dudes. How lazy is that? Oh btw the palace is blocked by guards and you can't go in. Lol. I love the game so far but I would have liked to see some new content. If Act 3 is a jungle full of midgets with blowguns I quit.

Here it is, you finish Normal its like 20% of the game + story line. There is Nightmare after that which have stronger monsters better loot. It adds up the challenge thats what keep you going, then Hell and Inferno. There is satisfaction after killing a very hard monster and get some awesome rare or legendary items out of it.

I use acid cloud (zombie charger works better in narrow areas) to AoE down swarms and everything else is defensive cooldowns. Getting rid of Soul Harvest has prevented me from dying it seems. It's funny how many times I suicided to get that five stack. Defensive cooldowns being Mass Confusion, Horrify, Spirit Walk, etc etc.
