I bought the game yesterday and I've played a few hours in the evening so far. (Logging in was a real pain in the ass, but after 20 minutes of trying it finally worked.)
I'm playing a monk and I'm lvl 10 right now. I loved D1 back in the days, but I didn't like D2, because it was too big and some levels were just boring as hell. (especially act 3...) So far I have to say that Blizzard has done an amazing job with D3. The game is running fine on my old rig (2 GHz Dualcore, HD 4650, 2 GB RAM, Win XP), the graphical style is cool, the animations are fantastic and the overall gameplay is very fluid. I have to go to university now, but I can't wait to come home tonight...
Overall, D3 is an awesome game. I love the little details they've put in and I also like the general controls and the gameflow. I'm going to beat the game solo on normal first, then it's time to find some friends to start the grinding. :D

lol sick how tired they sound/are :D
looks nice, doubt bots can beat a lot in inferno ^^

i am lvl 10 barbarian and i love it! tbh i wasnt extra happy when i had to kill skeleton king again (i played beta during open weekend) but after that, it has been amazing, interesting quests, story, characters, etc. it is like time machine 10 years back, good old times :

Good point, good point. And i can't see a problem playing solo Wizard on let's say inferno since you have blink, frost nova and such.

Anyone see the actual numbers for Neph Valor? I'm quite curious.

I mean it makes sense if it's a magic wand but how does it make sense that holding a standard dagger would make an ice bolt do more damage? Now I understand it's a fantasy game and not real life but still I like fantasy worlds to be internally consistent and I can't think of any good reason why holding a normal melee weapon should affect the damage of a ranged spell. Am I missing something here? What's funny to me is that I've yet to really use a magic wand. On my wizard I keep finding morning stars, swords, daggers, and other weapons that are just straight better than any wands or stalves. To be honest, I don't really give a fuck though. I look way cooler walking around with a sword and spellbook than I do with some tiny wand. As WD, most of the off-hands I've found so far give "+ X-Y damage", which is so important in boosting my overall damage. So I end up using a one handed weapon with high int and damage, and an off-hand.
Is pretty OK to me, I feared I would have to run around with 2 handed weapons to get the most damage output, but one-hand+off-hand is superior so far

Just beat Act 2, second half of Act 2 really started to move the game from "meh" to "awesome." Act 3 looks great too.

Anyone else found Act 1 to be way harder then Act 2? Might just be that my class(DH) gets alot of stuff at the end of act 1 that helps alot. I was close to dying quite a few times in Act 1 since it felt like the dmg ratio vs my hp was way higher then in act 2. and i recorded my first death vs the butcher. He charged into a wall and oneshot me.

Anyone else loves this game as much as i do? i just cannot stop playing.. ^^ gg well played blizz

I then got a new weapon around mid act 2 and it became massive faceroll where my aoes started to oneshot everything.
The items you get makes a ridiculous difference, so you probably just had bad luck in act 1.

Does anyone else feels like the game, UI wise to too small? I would kill for bigger resolution, bigger field of view (I'm playing DH). It's retarded when in later stages lots of ranged mobs come to play with mele support and both your range and theirs is longer then the "screen vision" so not to put yourself in harms way, and you can die even on normal if you go too close, You just shoot blindly across the screen, your follower disengages and you spam mostly AOE and then come back to loot. I mean it's stupid. In later stages on nightmare and hell I see no other way to play, if you have all mobs on the screen you are dead, 4-5 ranged guys and lots of mele it's too crowded... in Act 3 I caught myself shooting blindly across the screen more and more, there is a lot mobs with good ranged abilities and You just cannot stand in the screen sight of them...

For me it is the other way around, I can't start playing due to the server errors :')

Anybody else bind their primary attack to a number slot? it lets me walk around holding a number killing everything :/ this doesn't seem like it should be doable? I could make the problem even worse with a macro keyboard so i just toggle it on or off.

Having to dealing with ranged stuff off screen is pretty standard for the Diablo franchise. Notably the acid beasts is Diablo 1 and gloams in Diablo 2 are super scary in boss packs.

how is the Inferno progress world wide?
I heard Method groups killed the Skeleton King on Inferno?

Yeah, is there a central place to look at achievements? First one to beat the game etc.

No,i think there wouldn't be any because World Armory doesn't exist. That's not WoW
Athene said he did 60lvl World First, but how can u know such thing, when there are so much people leveling, and nothing to track them lolz?
Anyway if people clear inferno in a week or two im gonna be indeed a sad panda, and im going to regret playing the game tbh. If i don't die 100+ times a boss, its not an achievment, its just mashing keyboard.

I really wish there was a "ladder" like in d2 where I could see the progress of whose at the top, or who has made it the furthest (such as specific act+quest) of people in HC. When I was on yesterday I didn't see anything like that. Can anyone tell me what the option is for Hc character death after level 10. I died around 9 and it said if I had been 10+ there would have been the option for the character to be entered into the archives...meaning?
