Still waiting for other classes to be revealed (although 4 would be a perfect number, warrior, rogue, mage, priest - no need to get any more than that, you can get other classes/types through skill tree customization).

I dont think they want to make this game extremely childfriendly....the ingame scenes i saw were pretty rough....exploding bodies and blood everywhere :D I loved the mood in D1 and D2 , but this is D3. If you like the style of D1 and D2 - feel free to play these games again. Want...to....play....now! ![]()

Im in the same boat as you lol. I have much higher expectations for D3 just because even if the game itself isn't all that good, just grinding for gear could be an addiction

Still waiting for other classes to be revealed (although 4 would be a perfect number, warrior, rogue, mage, priest - no need to get any more than that, you can get other classes/types through skill tree customization). Every class was already revealed, that is supposed to be in the retail game. Wizard = mage class. Glass cannon massive ranged damage class. Witch Doc = the replacement for the necromancer. Summons + curses. Barbarian = melee specialist. Demon Hunter = Assassin/Amazon hybrid. Monk = the "holy warrior" type that uses 2-handed weapons(staves) and hand-to-hand combat. For anything else you'll have to wait for an Xpansion pack, ~1,5 years later. You can further specialize yourself using the skill points. 3 trees for each class, each tree focuses on something else. For exemple barbarian trees = Battlemaster/Berserker/Juggernaught Battlemaster = good balance between offence/defence. Berserker = focuses on dual-wielding and maximizing damage. Juggernaught = focuses on shields(?), weapons and survivability and party buffs. In these trees you find 2 things: skills + passives, devided into tiers. skills are active skills like bash/leap/whirlwind, devided into tiers. passives boost something all around and are on, always. Be it improved health regen, bonus damage, slower rage loss or the % crit chance. To pass from 1 tier to another you need to invest a certain amount of skill points. 2nd tier requires 5 skill points placed in tier 1, 3rd tier = 10 overall skill points etc. If you don't like a tier in a tree you can just skip it, and boost other skills in that tree in a lower tier to get to the higher tiers. Every class is built that way. 3 trees with a mix of passives/skills each. More info here: http://www.diablowiki.net/Main_Page

Dunno what game you were playing but last I tried D2 at least half the players in baal runs had some sort of autoloot hack, so unless you found who's hack acted first to pick up the item "fun" this is probably the best change they could've possibly put in. So far I'm looking forward to all the changes. I think a ton of ppl in this thread are looking back at D2 with rose tinted glasses. The game was amazing back in classic but once the expansion came out with runewords all the hacks/dupes/bots followed and the game just turned into a massive shitfest.

Anyway, super excited...prerelease is when I hate Blizzard cause the game is still over a year off...think I'll start off as a monk, the combo/technique system seems interesting.

Diablo 3 looks pretty good...sad no paladin though :/ My favorite characters have always been the knights. Keeping it class with shiny armor, shields, and swords.
