So blizz wants us to play in groups, the way mobs scale and the group buff is here to stay. Cause of this groups clear a loot higher then you can solo, and you can level your gems so that you can have that solo advantage.
Too bad the server lag is real, and that the meta still seems stuck at support + 1 (maybe +2) dps, and the dps is whatever is OP that season. So depressing, even for a "casual".
So me, and my 2 brothers, (WD, DH, Wiz) are hoping to do some 3's. Can we go 80+ atleast with this? LoN dart, M6 and DMO? Or do the WD need to go support? Any ideas? Also how high can we speedfarm?

Cleared GR69 yesterday with my DH with more than 2min left and my 3 gems between 45 and 50 which means GR70 should be a breeze. That will leave me with 2 conquests to do to complete my season journey... I already have the 50M gold streak and I'm leveling up a Crusader for the 8 set dungeons. But I still need 1 more and I have no idea what I could farm... Any recommandation for a "not too painful" conquest?

I'm no expert on 3's but, with that setup, I feel like you should barely be able to achieve GR80+ (with support WD definitely) provided that you have a high enough plvl.
If it were me, I'd probably switch the DH preferably (or even the WD) for a support barb and try different setups to decide between support WD or DPS (now that the LoN-dart bug has been solved).

So I am trying to build a wizard GR build that isn't as dependent on super high density as the others. I want to routinely do 60, or maybe even 70, solo, rather than builds that struggle a lot in low density, but then can go like +10 levels if the density is super high. I figure they key to this is the ranslors folly, the whirlwind thing that pulls white mobs together.
I base it on this build: http://www.diablofans.com/builds/69933-quin69-gr88-dmo-wizard-solo But I exchange the weapon (2x orb) and triumvirate (+600% orb) for whirlwind sword (+#whirlwinds x 150%) and the remaining slot I used for the +50% speed, 200% damage blade weapon for better defence and faster mana/dynamo charge. I exchange the cubes aquilla curiass for build enabling ranslors folly. I lose some defence, but I gained some with the weapon slot attack speed. I also run rorg and all-slow-time-runes helmet, as I dont have the travelers pledge, but that goes for both the orb and the WW builds.
So doing the calculations: orbs: 265% weapon damage per orb x4 orbs, x1200% damage for weapon and triumvirate. 134x weapon damage. WW: 835% weapon damage, x450% for 3 twisters. 45x weapon damage. (im ignoring all the buffs that are shared between the builds).
So WW is like 1/3 in direct damage, but in a medium-low density rift, I figured it'd more than make up for it with pulling mobs together and area damage scaling with the square of the local monster density. So if I in a normal rift manage to hit on average 2x as many monsters with the WW build, which I think is very realistic, I'll deal 2x the direct damage, and 4x the area damage. So I'd think it'd be very comparable damage output, but less density dependence and more cc for teams.
However, playing it a few GR, I struggle to kill things. I feel I do a lot less damage than the orb build. Am I missing something?
Also, I am toying with the idea of doing a channeling build with the thing that throws an energy twister each second which must work very well with the WW weapon. It'd take the place of explosive blast I guess. weapon/source/cube would be +twister damage/+damage when channeling/throw spenders when channeling. But it would take time from barrier blades, and I'd die immediately in melee, and lose the dynamo bonus. Could it be used as a non-melee build, where you use slow time and ranslors folly to CC mobs away from you?

IIRC Arcane Orbit is bugged and therfore does a retarded amount of damage with Unstable Sceptre.

Does Unstable Sceptre have any effect on Frozen Orb?

Could you just show the build youre planning to play? I cant really follow your throughts.
GRs 70+ for a wizard rely heavily on APDs in the bracer slot (procced by Halo of Arlyse), so if you want to play with the pull-bracers either has to go in the cube.
Channeling builds are propular on the ladder and _CAN_ go up to 80+. The setup in almost all cases is Twister-Sword + Offhand with Channeling-Spender, as well as the belt with reduced mana cost for channeled spells (Arcane Torrent or Disintegrate are the go to spells). The most important thing though, is that every Twister-Build is played without a generator - so no barrier blades.
So most of your thoughts are correct, you can play the non-melee-variant of the build (which in itself is also not true, because you still have most mobs in melee-range, thats just how slow-time wizard works this season).
As for why the two builds perform different - the inheritably huge problem with twister is that they move and you will only get the full potential if you get 12+ twisters out, while having your pack of mobs stacked upon each other in preferably one closed corner on the map. AO hits everything around you, boom - damage applied. Twister does its damage over 6 seconds and most of the time no mob stands in the same twister for that long.
I'm GR76 with my wizard on season using AO, and i've toyed with the idea of trying the channeled-twister build - just havent gotten around to doing it.

Wait, the part with doing the damage over 6 seconds... Does the twisted do the 600% weapon damage (or whatever it is) every second based on dps, or only once over the 6 seconds? So a weapon with 2 attacks per second, each dealing 1 damage, does it do 12 damage over a twister, or 2, or 1?
I was doing the calculation as if it reporoduces the dps (12 damage), putting it on par with the channelling spells, but maybe that is the reason my calculation was off...
Anyway, what I really am looking for is a wiz build that I can play in party that works ok even in decently low monster density, and doesn't depend on a specific build from my allies. Maybe I am better of going del-rasha or firebirds or something?
What about using the twister with ranslors only as cc, and then use wand of woh and blast as dps? I guess stacking CDR and/or in-geom and/or that ring that decreases cooldown?

Since I hit that gear wall on my barb and hit leaderboards I got really bored of this game. Then I discovered that you can augment your ancients to have its stats boosted based on gem level. Suddenly I got a second wind to grind again. This patch is really really nice tbh, I thought I would be dead bored by now.
Also got lucky with a GR71 and moved up to a 650 spot on leader boards. Feels damn good man.

I tried it with a DH with an ancient Yang's even and couldn't do any dmg whatsoever to the mobs, but with a thorns crusader i crushed it easily once I had the akkarat's awakening shield for spamming Iron Skin/Consecration/Akkarat's Champion.

Without gold find I think you get like 44m.

I was afraid it was one of those "easy" things that are only easy if you have ancient version of five obscure legendaries for a specific class and a specific build and get the right kind of RNG in that secret area that I never bother with.
Thanks.

You can also try the hard mode: level Boon of the order and chain-kill enemies on a Torment level of your choosing. Find a high density rift (or just 4-man where ppl actually kill white trash mobs instead of just speeding by). I use goldwarp with BotH as defense for farming builds and regularily get 20mill streaks w/o paying attention. Let your pet pick up gold (it takes abit longer than you do) to prolong the time you got between mobs.
TLDR; BotH-kill-chaining might also work, Gilded baron is definetely easier.

Every now and then you'll find people advertising goblin runs too. Heck I have 2 puzzle rings and will be advertising a goblin run once I get geared up for TX (I only play on weekends mostly).
