In other words, the closer to the release, the less I'm interested in it (I just hope they won't push it to the same point as they did with SC2 for me - where I decided to not get the game at all).
while you somehow make that sound like a failed formula, simply because it was used for sc2 and you didn't buy the game, the fact that sc2 has sold as many copies as it has so far proves the exact opposite

I don't think they did but I'm pretty sure they will have it because most of the people who still play D2 are people who play hardcore mode. If they don't they will be bombarded by nerds!

With the HC mode its probably gonna be the same with chatchans in SC2, they say they implement it and just wait until the D3 expansion ..

They talked about HC a little bit, I recall them saying they will get some cooler stuff, maybe like titles or something. But HC isn't really like chat channels, IMO it would be like releasing SC2 with just 1v1 and nothing else.

If I remember correctly the devs were quoted saying that they "see no reason to not have a hardcore mode in Diablo III".

Demon Hunter? Seriously? Aren't ALL classes hunting demons?
I really hope they justify the endless arrow, no-cocking, dual crossbow logic. I rarely call bullshit on these kinds of badassery, but I'm calling bullshit.

Hardcore is definitely returning to Diablo III, but we haven’t decided what sort of special Battle.net features we’ll enable with it. We want to make sure that if you see a HC char on B.net, you’ll know they’re HC. It’s a status symbol, and it’s only one if you know. We’re looking for ways to reward players, and we’re sure we’ll have a set of HC achievements also.

Yeah why not just call her a Rogue? There's already a Barb, Wizard (cough, Sorc), and Voodoo Guy (necro) no need to rip off WC3. Looks like every class will have their own weapon set at this point, can't see a Barb dual wielding crossbows... pew pew pew

so is blizzard gonna try to shove this game out this year? been in dev since 2001 if i remember reading correctly. heard a few days ago that the WOW expansion Cataclysm is coming out this year, which a lot of people were wondering about. they gonna try for 3 huge games in one year or just save this one for next year?

To be fair, when Diablo 2 came out I was either 15 or 16. Staying on topic, if the Demon Hunter lets you use regular bows or a 2h crossbow instead of the DW hand crossbows (which I'm pretty sure they said you would) I'm on board with the class. I love the different shots and traps they showed, not to mention grenade spam :D

Yeah, the problem I have is that except for wizard and barbarian, the other classes seem too specialized and put in there just to be "cool." I liked the basic classes in D2 and then you could choose your specialization based on stats, skills, and equipment.

For all it's worth, the gameplay video of the Demon Hunter actually looked like tremendous fun if you can put the whole "I don't like the looks/name of the class - dual crossbows?!" aside for a few minutes.

If lag is comparable from BW to SC2 as it will be for D2 to D3, hardcore mode will be unplayable. The lag on b.net is barely acceptable for sc2.

I can't play hardcore because, if my internet drops for even a second, I can lose weeks of work. I'd like if they could put in some system whereby if your internet drops they auto-disconnect you.
