Everything about the game was great but the two characters the entire goddamned story revolves around were both retarded. Alright, maybe the game as a whole didn't suck as much as I say sometimes, but it is far from the best RPG games. lmfao I know it's your opinion or whatever, but this is just unacceptable. FFVII was THE best RPG game ever put on the damn market. After that, id say FFX, but this is preference.

No excuse for long ranting post that existed previously >.>. It's not specifically towards you but I don't understand negativity towards other games recently (this is just generally speaking in terms of message boards not TL but the entire world as a whole!). See this. Sums it up nicely. Okay first of all sure it's okay to say you don't like something but there's no need to apply it to everyone. Also: See this, this, this, this, Also Elder Scrolls and Diablo 3 sucks and they're both overhyped cruddy games. *Runs away* Again not towards anyone specific in general but like the blog I linked to, it seems I always find people bashing other games. Now of course disliking a game is fine but I think it should be done politely >.>.

But it's not unwarranted at all. Just look around you. SC2 is the scourge of TL I say! + Show Spoiler + But seriously, it's usually because new things have yet to stand the test of time and so fans are (as they should be) wary. Especially when a newer game tries to usurp it's (much) better predecessor. And then somehow has the balls to claim itself as the premier ESPORT blah blah blah

Apparently Final Fantasy 13 uses Crystal Tools engine which is PC friendly. (FFXIV uses same engine and is on PC). I'm not sure why but I guess there's still a lot of effort to port them over. That and maybe "The Last Remnant" and "Front Mission Evolved" did not do so well in PC sales so SE must have thought FF13 or w/e won't sell as well. Though I disagree because TLR is a like it or hate it type of game (Personally I like it but I know several disliked it and I do agree with things they disliked about TLR[I'm a sucker for Battle Dialogue that's why I bought TLR >.>]) and Front Mission Evolves was really buggy sadly so it probably did poor due to that. Final Fantasy XIV had really negative reviews so that may be a factor too. (FFXIV was basically shipped off as an "alpha". In fact it was missing somethings even FFXI had at launch >.<). FFXIV is still in development though if anyone is curious (updates are still coming and it's in "limited free to play" where basically it's F2P until FFXIV is deemed good). Finally they're not doing so well financially (well compared to in the past anyway) and reportedly canceled a lot of projects.

Nice ![]() I like the game overall but yeah I posted what I think every point there is to like and dislike about the game in that link/post. One thing I particularly dislike is that you can't change your party member's equipment "but" with a simple tweak (editing an ini file. I have a link in that post to the wikia which explains how to do it) you can do that (not intended but hey they did add that option for PC users to mess around). There's a demo on Steam if you're interested to test it out.

I linked to a reply I made but I think my starting post will be more helpful (there's a part where I rant about how the game felt too short but besides that it has useful info. I suggest playing Windowed mode so you can easily switch from the game to your web browser to look up stuff on the wikia ![]() One thing that isn't explained in the demo (since it starts you off "after" the tutorials) is that to engage in monsters, press space (by default). When you press space you'll engage into battle with any nearby monsters without a morale penalty (if you get attacked by a monster you get a morale penalty for that battle). Also you activate "Timeshift" by pressing shift. See this for explanation Also remember to set your config > gamepad and set it to "Keyboard display" if you're using a keyboard (by default it shows which Xbox controller buttons to press but if you want keyboard you need to switch it under "Gamepad" section of settings). PC Tweaking FAQ. Summary Walkthrough (It lists any missable stuff usually so you can go do them before proceeding them on). A couple of things to note: 1. Lots of missable stuff in the game. I suggest making a separate save every 3 hours of play or so so if you mess up something or miss something you can load an earlier save. There are 50 save slots so feel free to use them ![]() Definitely use the wikia and use the walkthrough and remember to complete every single quest before going through the "Aqueducts" (at one point you'll have to go through there. Once done, most quests from that point on will be gone and you'll miss them forever). Also a certain point there is a quest where you have to side with a girl or an old guy (you'll know what I'm talking about). If you want an extra character, always side the old guy. You'll miss a quest but the quest leads to a downer ending[for that quest anyway, not for the game] (and it's not required for 100% in the PC version) so no worries. 2. If a party member asks whether or not to learn a skill, always tell them to learn it. (For example if party asks should I try learning remedies? Always tell them to learn it). The reason is that it allows that character to learn a new set of skills but you only have one chance and if you say no they won't learn it. You can set which characters can use what skills so it doesn't matter how many skills you have (this was only an issue in the original Xbox 360 version where you couldn't turn off certain skills). 3. Don't level grind until you have at least 15 party members! Avoid monster fights as much as possible in early game because the game is similar to Elder Scrolls or FF8 in the sense that monsters "level up" with you (it's based on your battle rank). Not only do they level up with you but the higher the BR, the lower stat gains you'll gain from battles. It's not as bad as it sounds. You can fight every monster you encounter but just don't purposely level grind until you have at least 15+ party members (that way they can all level up at the same time. So there's a bit of min/maxing (best way is to wait till you have 15 party members before leveling to min/max. 18 is the max but leveling with 15 should be fine). 4. Finally one last thing is each character has classes but the problem is you can't switch them and they change automatically depending on what skills you have leveled. In terms of short term benefits this doesn't matter too much and it'll probably change constantly until it reaches one of the three rank 7 classes. Read this for more info. Though don't worry too much about it For the most part classes don't matter too much (they just provide small stat benefits) and it's really hard to keep a character one class (you can by turning off certain skills a character can use for example but IMO if you're playing the first time I say you shouldn't worry about it too much). More info about classes + Show Spoiler + You can read the wikia and try to keep a character a class but one negative point about the game is the classes and changing classes. "Scholar" is one of the classes you may want to keep if you to obtain it. To keep that class don't use hexes, invocations, evocations, and do not use katanas for that character. I'm not positive this will keep the class though even with all that (it will delay class changing but with enough leveling you may change into another class automatically since Scholar is only a rank 4 class).. Besides Scholar I suggest making Rush dual wield two medium size katanas so he can eventually level into the Ninja class if you want Rush to be a physical attacker. Though if you want him to be more of a caster don't do that and make him a Warlock instead when you can. Either way most of the classes should be fine). Ordainer is another Rank 7 class (it's basically the same as Ninja in terms of benefits except it features +15% damage bonus with combat arts rather than +15% while dual wielding. IMO I think it's easier just to train a character to be a Ninja since the benefits are almost the same but NInja is much easier to obtain. These are three classes which Rush will eventually obtain after leveling (there are several others but everything leads to either of those three classes). Also if you obtain one, you can't change out of it (those 3 classes that is) but the main benefit is the "Safety" skill which they all have so it doesn't matter too much anyway. Anyway the game is about 40-60+ hour game if you do all the sidequests. Story/main quest is about 10 hours. In terms of voiced (or dialogue in the main storyline in gelera) cutscenes, I'd say around 40-60 minutes total (for a comparison I think most FF games starting with FF6 have at least 3+ hours worth of dialogue/cutscenes). So as you can see there's lots of missable stuff, not too much "re doable" endgame content, and not everything is really explained in game. Also again it's a bit short (main story wise) and mostly sidequests but if you're fine with all that and like the demo I'd recommend it.
