Been so long since I heard about this game I completely forgot. It was the hype that was builded up when the trailer was first released in 2006. That was when PS3 was released and they gave us this(Versus) first trailer. The following years they slowly released trailers to tease the fans and build the hype. A lot of people were anticipating for this game simply because of how it looks and it is also a FF game. I got no idea why SE did this. If they cancelled it, they would wasting 6 years of development time and also the time to build up the hype. Canceling it would just contradict what they did to build Versus up to this point. I guess SE just doesn't like money or they are just stupid. Cuz this game will sell like hotcakes in Japan since the hype has been build up. Though this is just a rumor but if it turned out to be true. Won't be surprised. | ||

Saw gameplay of Versus XIII, and it seems like a slightly more fluid version of the Kingdom Hearts battle system which makes sense considering majority of the team behind it is KH & Nomura. It just doesn't seem exciting to me anymore. It's stupid that S-E spent this entire gen of consoles on just developing their crap Fabula Nova whatever XIII whereas they pretty much developed 3 games for each platform in previous years. | ||

I think the bigger plan was to actually sell the engine to companies, I remember them having demos and workshops telling people how easy it was to use the crystal-blah engine. Dont think that ever caught on though :D | ||

Dont think that ever caught on though :D perhaps you were talking about the luminous conference (can't remember the exact name), where they were discussing about the potential of the luminous engine they were developing that was supposed to be used in versus. | ||
