Well if you look at Birth By Sleep, the combat did improve, rather than wailing away button mashing, new mechanics helped make the game a bit more strategic. | ||

Meh, a lot of people who hate Final Fantasy judge the game based off the characters. There are no emo characters in FF tbh. There are some that act like one for a short period of time, but that's it. A lot of people just don't understand Japanese culture, so they think that Asian + long dyed hair + weird outfit = emo. With today's generation, the word "emo" is thrown around loosely like other words. | ||

Why not just make it FFXV or something? I'm not huge on the real time combat though :/ I always liked the turn based combat of the FF series. | ||

Whatever argument you make here, there is an equally valid counter argument. By now I'm sure SE realizes that no matter what there will be a group of people hating on their games due to their willingness to experiment. If they try to stick to their old roots (from games we all enjoyed when we were like 10, wtf? Clearly things will have changed by now), there will be haters who chastise them for their lack of innovation. SE can't satisfy everyone so they will do what they're best at and have always been successful at - innovation while telling a beautiful story. Versus seems to be such an amazing game yet people just can't help themselves but bash previous games. I was talking to some randoms about SC2 and one of them mentioned he won't buy it because SC1 was all about waiting to make carriers and then attacking, which he didn't find fun. WTF that couldn't be farther from the truth, but I'm sure he felt damn smug saying that. We're being promised something quite revolutionary here with Versus, let's keep our focus to that. | ||
