the mana is relevant for your character as long as you're playing a champ with mana imo. i speak from a mathematical point only though. i don't like spell block as i feel it gives a reason *not* to focus a champ, and since i primarily play initiators, i dun rike dat | ||

I love Banshee's Veil..  ...On Udyr, It's pretty much a core piece, and you can expect me to get Banshees and Randuins(Hog first, then get what's needed) like 50% of the time, but for all the tanks I play, I make changes here and there... as for the well it's better to get negatron + giants belt, I will often do something like that on my tanks, then just finish the items into say FoN and Sunfire(I'm really steering away from sunfire capes lately anyone want to argue me back into them  ).. On Udyr, I play him the "Lil Ballz" style now, 1/8/21, Aspeed/Mresist/lvl, Mresist/lvl.... I always have mana problems If i don't have blue, which is funny cause Udyr is one of the chars I will hog blue on.. my effectiveness in team fights when oom is pretty sad tbh.. I like to change stances a ton! in team fights... I'm pretty bad about my mana consumption actually when off blue, I should be more aware, and turtle hardly helps at all cause my physical damage output is pretty low... I did see someone that suggested bloodthirster after the initial tank items, and I think I might try that. About the veil not being a good tank item cause it "Deters" negative effects from targeting you... I have a hard time agreeing with this just like when there was a discussion about how dodge boots were bad for same reason(People won't attack you cause you might dodge there attacks?). Pretty much your a tank.. and you are building usually 80-100% of your items as survivability.. Your itemization pretty much says don't focus me(I think armor/mresist/health much more reason to not focus you then a silly spell shield)... what you actually do during team fights is what matters (your cc, your damage, just generally being in the way, positioning is extremely important, any support spells you might have).. As a tank they are never really "Supposed" to focus you first, but you need to make it so they do. Without tanky items your pretty useless as a tank cause if you force them to focus you, you might die before doing anything. In other words.. Ive started to get to an elo where I feel I belong(I'm generally not carrying my team anymore with my tank toons, just in the middle) at about 1450 .. and I must say, I thought games would be a little bit better than at 1300.. it's about the same amount of intelligence from some of the people on the teams. Also I hate being in the position to ban, It seems if i first pick a tank, my next 4 picks on my team are 4 squishies since we already have a tank.. where If Im last I can usually grab udyr or something and our team will have a little bit of survivability.. where up front I feel I need to grab mummy right away or ban him. Also, thoughts on Heimer/Shaco.. i think Heimer probably still bannable. | ||

We often get caught up in this mindset of, "zomg, need HPz and mReses, I know, Aegis or BVeil are teh only options!" when we should frequently just think of getting a giant's belt and a negatron. and you laughed at my random sion build of throwing in cloth armor and giants belt :p | ||

I just like that Udyr set up a ton, I really like the 21 in utility on Udyr .. move speed, and the cooldowns are really good.., it really improves my game imo from when i was doing 1/17/12 , and the magic resist runes are just pretty darn noticeable, that's a lot of mresist I get at lvl 18...I think 1/14/15 probably be pretty good, havent tested the jungle route wtih it though | ||

The top 3 items are as followed: Merc Treads Banshee's veil Mejai's Soulstealer. Merc Treads is one of the staples for any build in LoL, if you don't know what boots to get, Merc Treads is probably the one you should get. Banshee's Veil gives you immense survivability, especially against characters with stuns. You'll be able to avoid initiations, will can turn the tide of fight. Mejai's is self explanatory. You would usually get this item on a AP user. The fact of the matter is, most of the vital skills used in this game scale off of AP. If you use Mejai's on someone like Taric, his heal can heal you for over 1k when going a support build. Mejai's on someone like Karthus can really bring you back from a losing game, aswell. | ||

What's the jungling path? I did see someone that suggested bloodthirster after the initial tank items, and I think I might try that. Yep, that was me. Works very well IMO. BT is the best AD item for cost when stacked, and since you already have +30% AS from passive and Tiger Strike scales with AD by a fuckton, it's awesome. Not like you're going to die and lose the stacks as Udyr either. | ||
