You have to be kidding me, coming into the lane at level 1 with 400 extra hp is huge. If you're taking revive and not suiciding to tower you're wasting it unless you expect to get completely outplayed in the first 10 minutes. Is it even worth giving up an entire summoner slot just to do that ONCE at level 1? And not being able to do it again for the next 9 minutes? It only lasts 2 minutes. Anyone who is smart isn't going to die to that while panth loses a summoner spell for 9 minutes just to get a couple of extra minion wave kills. | ||

Well Smash doesn't do it and neither does Maknoon and those are the 2 really good Panth's I've played with. You have to consider the fact that if there is a lvl 1 fight and you're suiciding as pantheon.... You will get either caught since it's pretty hard to walk through the jungle to die to a turret. or Your team will lose all their buffs since you are dead for a while and their team can just 5 man one of your buffs. | ||

Sure, they won't die, but they can't exactly trade hits with you anymore, the idea is you use your massive health advantage to zone the crap out of them. That first 400 damage they do is irrelevant, since it's all temporary HP anyway. Those first few minion waves are pretty important. Later in the game, you can use it to revive+ult back into teamfights that you died in. | ||

Not being able to do it again for the next 9 minutes? You don't even have ult for about 6 of those 9, and it's not for the first 9 minutes anyway. You shouldn't be dying as panth in lane, you are probably one of the strongest laners. The extra 400 hp is HUGE in zoning them. You can be super aggressive with no fear because you started at 1k hp when they have 500-600. If you really think you're taking revive for ANYTHING but the midgame/lategame revive-ult-back-in or backdoor I just don't know what to say. You just use it early for one extra use because honestly what does pantheon die to in the first 9 minutes? I can deal with Shake having this discussion with me, but at least he understands the point of the revive. @Shake Even if maknoon and smash don't run it, I'm sure if you asked them they wouldn't say it's terrible. It's an alternative option, but I'm not a huge ignite fan and the only other things I might take over it are exhaust for like twitch/yi/kog or teleport for backdoors. Revive is just really, really strong in midgame when you can ult back in and completely turn a teamfight and lategame it gives you about the same amount of backdoor threat as teleport. [edit] Just saw your post, I gotcha. I dunno I feel like if you pull it off it's a huge advantage with relatively low risk. I guess it's a matter of taste. [/edit] | ||
