A tanky Urgot that runs after carries and pokes them to death is pretty annoying, especially given that he essentially perma-snares.

My brave Pantheon:

ArmPen/MP5/MP5/HP

Longsword + Health Potion.

Occult > Boots 3 or Merc Treads (if against any of the 'big 3' [Galio, Amumu, Morgana]) > Chalice > BF > BF > BF. Always. Chug. Elixirs.

If time allows and your inventory is full, convert to BT's for the lifesteal.

Skill order: QWEWWR, R>W>Q>E.

Guide:

Get first blood. Do it. Just do it. Now last hit with Q until you have enough for boots 1 and your occult. When that happens, blue pill it. Now you wait. When you have reached 35 gold (or the enemy forgets they are facing a Bravetheon) you jump. You will get a kill. You will always get a kill. Now hurry up and go help your lane partner again because he's not you so he's probably having a hard time. By this point you should be able to AFK in lane for days at a time, because if anyone initiates against you they'll die to auto attacks. Once you come back from AFK at level ~10 you can start tower diving aggressively. You want to flash aggressively. You want to ult aggressively.

Have fun ruining two people's day every 25 minutes.

I dunno, I can see a stream like Hotshot's pulling a lot of viewers, simply because he's got the only high level stream anyone knows about. People checking out LoL after the WCG hype will google 'lol stream' and find HSGG.

Nah it's bugged just like justin.tv and ustream.tv used to be, now it seems to be fine. His usual watcher pool (up until yesterday) has always been of 2kish users, he doesn't randomly get twice as many viewers almost a month after wcg.

so, for ppl who didnt watch hsgg's stream or didnt know what was going on even while watching, hs came across a glitch with jax's ult and how the stacks apply. Basically if you animation cancel jax's attack, you will get +1 stack on his ult for that attack since the stack applies right at the very start of the animation and not at the attack itself. This means that you can start the animation several times in rapid succession, thereby causing a shitton of stacks to proc very quickly.

The best way i could figure to do this is to repeatedly rightclick on the ground next to a creep, he will make the attack noise (a whoosh sound) and the animation will start, but your move command will stop the animation from finishing, but since he is right next to the creep, he will automatically attack again a split second later. It takes a little bit of practice, but is very easy to get the hang of, i recommend trying it in a practice game if you are not familiar at all with animation canceling.

Phantom dancer is a fantastic item on Jax... but probably not a great one to rush. He's already the dodge king, and getting a PD will usually max out his dodge chance.

However, attack speed and crit do nothing for his passive, but still help with killing stuff.

Actually... don't listen to me. I know nothing about Jax, lol.

I go Jax like I go every other dps-tank. Tabi, Rageblade into HP (banshees, sunfire, sometimes frozen mallet if I know I won't be the person getting red buff.) After that I get my atma's and triple pot for around 5k hp. I'm thinking of going the new warmogs since with this build you will be afk farm for about the whole game.

So I've been busting out Urgot again lately and I must say he is so fun to play but I've been trying to smooth out a build on him. He scales fairly poorly into the late game damage wise (.7 AD ratio on his Q) but his AP ratios are fairly decent (.8 each for W and E) though lack of spammability has deterred me from this route.

I've always believed Urgot should be built tanky and use his ability to slow targets in teamfights and reduce the damage done by carries while providing some support damage, this has led me to think Manamune (to fix mana issues and capitalize on early game lane dominance) + Tank items + Atmas eventually to be a good build on him but I wanted to ask the opinions of others as well.

Discussion appreciated.

I find building Urgot tanky to be a little boring and in some cases unnecessary. With his shield + ult he is already quite difficult to kill and survives teamfights quite nicely even when built AD, which is what I do.
Manamune + mercs to start, then I go straight for triforce and atma's, yet even though I've been carrying my last few games HARD like this (early game advantage for AD Urgot is large) I feel like it won't last long. I want to work a Brutalizer in there as well somewhere...
(I know triforce is nooby, but the sheen proc + attack/movespeed for his autoattack is actually really nice for anti-carry. Hell even if my shield goes down and I can't permaslow there's always the phage component.)
I didn't think E did enough damage to justify building him straight AP (W would be hella strong though), would you combine an AP/tank build in that case?

So... what's with the new tier 2.5 quints? Is their effect listed anywhere? I bought the piercing screech ones thinking they would be Apen but they turned out to be Mpen, im guessing bountiful treats=gold, speedy specter=MS and elusive werewold=dodge, am I correct? And what is the witches brew one?

The tooltips of each are empty for me...

There are better ways to go about getting magic pen/reducing their magic resist with Morde. Namely, Haunting Guise, Sorc Shoes, Abyssal Scepter, and Void Staff. Malady takes too long to catch up to these with a melee character with a mediocre attack animation who wants to spend a decent amount of time casting spells with pesky cast animations.

Q > W for your skilling.

Ghost is irreplaceable. Ditch the exhaust. I prefer ignite to flash, but it's enemy dependent and there's a strong case for revive too. And if you wanna jungle, you need Smite. To sum up: Ghost + Flash/Ignite/Revive/Smite.

Ditch the health quints for more Armor Pen (not damage you retards, you need the fucking armor pen, lol)

Soloing is pretty important on Pantheon if you're not jungling.

Opening long sword is fairly weak, though I suppose it has its merits in a sidelane. I prefer boots/red elixir openings as they give you enough potions to actually fight attrition on solo lanes. You need to build a lot tankier, but w/e, lol. With those mp5pls, you really really really have no excuse for buying chalice and you like, really need at least a GA if not a bunch of defensive stuff, lol. I'd suggest doing boots -> brutalizer -> SotO -> Merc Treads (fuck boots 3, seriously, you should pretty much always have Mercs, and if not, get zerker greaves, no joke) ->GA -> more AD if you're really set on balls to the walls AD (for reference, I tend to do brutalizer -> boots -> HoG -> Merc Treads -> Banshee's Veil -> Omen -> Ghostblade -> more AD in lane).

But w/e, if you're at a level where you're capable of AFK farming with Pantheon, you can probably just keep doing w/e, lol.

Those were basically my thoughts for him, though I disagree with Tri Force since it benefits your primary source of damage (Q) less then other items, and would prefer FM for the slow if you were worried about your shield not being able to perma slow someone.

I wish his ult lasted longer then 3 seconds though because that is rather short if your timing is even slightly off.

I have an AP / Tank hybrid build on Sion which is what I would build on him if I did that, since their Ws are similar (minus the exploding part) they serve as your primary "health pool" allowing you to just worry about AP and resistances.
