For items, I go ruby / heart of gold / mercury's / aegis / finish randuins / sunfires Spells, cleanse / ghost skills are ult > vorpal > shadow dash > feint (I don't put a single point in feint until vorpal and dash are max) i'm not the one to ask about runes, all i have are 6 MDef blues and a couple yellows. i'm not sure how strong cooldown would be on shen because the like 10% cooldown you'll get from runes is going to lower your vorpal from 3 seconds to 2.7 seconds which is totally not even worth the IP imo. masteries i'm still figuring out. i primarily run like x/21/1 so i can get improved ghost and a couple offensive skills too but i've gone 21/x/1 and had success because people don't expect that kind of damage output from shen early spells are always ghost/ignite. i don't care to cleanse because shen is a great escaper. and even when i do die, i can always justify that i made it hard for the other team and saved a teammate in the process  i get one level of feint early (level 2 or 4) so i can block slow moving projectiles like kayle's Q or taric's stun or panth's spear. really REALLY helps cut down the HP you'll lose to harassing spammers. other than that i agree: ult > Q > E > W i've tried starting with gem->aegis but i'm dissatisfied with the lack of HP regen, especially now that vorpal's heal got nerfed. my go-to is doran's shield and a health pot. that'll keep you in lane forever, combined with timely level 1 feints. your core item changes every game. sometimes it's a banshee's veil, sometimes it's a sunfire, sometimes it's a thornmail, sometimes it's warmog's. there's no way to tell what you're going to need til you analyze the opponents' items. i definitely wouldn't start with heart of gold though, that's a bad item and the "gimme gold" isn't worth it at all. start aegis instead or even rush merc treads imo. some "cute" things you can do to improve your play are learning every single wall you can taunt through as an escape; learning to wait until the enemy team has overcommitted; taunting where your opponents are GOING, not where they are; setting up offensive ults with a teammate (i.e. akali throws her shroud, you teleport to her since you'll be invisible, suddenly this fight is an easy double kill instead of akali dying - same thing works with a hero who just runs in a bush and you ult to him); learning to last hit without ki strike or vorpals so you can save those to harass in lane; etc etc etc etc etc i'd gladly play a game with you sometime too | ||

Needless to say I was fucking floored. Edit: Also something Mogwai might find amusing, I had Maknoon on my team once in champ select, and someone else stole Pantheon. Up until the :30 mark he still hadn't picked a different hero, when someone on the other team q-dodged. Aerox and I were in stitches, it was pretty funny. Then in my last game I ran into him again, this time on the other team... I was Ashe and the Ezreal had told me to take mid during champ select, and when I saw his name I wanted to kill myself... ... except he was playing jungle Olaf. And proceeded to gank me at level 3 when I was zoning their Ashe fml. We won though, I don't think he's nearly as scary when he's not on Pantheon ;x The future of SmashGizmo? | ||

every time I've dabbled for a game or two over the past 3 weeks, it's been a trainwreck other than the only game I played with Nasus and the first game I played with TF (second was that fucking terrible game vs. Maknoon... tho honestly, I was 1 bad pathing away from taking FB from him at mid and losing that pretty much ruined me for the rest of the game  ). if we need a 1v2er in the future tho, I feel relatively comfortable with Nasus since I put in some work on him with my smurf. | ||

Hahah, yeah when I saw his name pop up on loading I was REALLY nervous, because when Maknoon gets on a roll he doesn't let his foot off your throat, but fortunately I didn't have to be the goat. | ||

tested it with friends and you do all the buffs on WW, tank tower shots with rallies and kill it before anyone even gets there unless they have a teleport or fortify (lol). EDIT: @Southlight: yea, it was so frustrating too just because I was so close to getting him... I'm pretty sure I played everything right except for assuming that there was enough space between Maknoon and the creep in front of him to get through before eating too many HSS shots, but there wasn't so my pathing took me all the way around the creep and I ate 2 more ticks than I thought I would . So it goes... | ||

My friends and I tested various stuff and arrived at the comp and strategy I described and I don't think there's a better way to do it :p. The big draw for me with Rammus is that what this guy did was a level 3 powerball double-buff gank. That's sickening. Edit: lol, I'm a turtling terran player that spams siege tanks. Go figure. | ||

It also sucks in your own jungle because I tend to be pretty consistent in clearing out the creep, so I'm usually stuck with an empty jungle QQQQQQQQQ hahah. It was really hard to kill Malphite if he didn't want to be killed, because he had a snare/buff for movement speed, and I'd just cast it on a neutral or something to get the buff to move from one place to another. Fast forward to Amumu and all I can do is try to be spiderman, but it's usually not plausible. Amumu has a more devastating ult and is more of a damage-dealer to tanks, though. | ||
