I think that N's name is really short for Nuzlocke.
+ Show Spoiler +He always has different Pokes when you fight him. For instance, I just faced him in Chargestone Cave in Black, and his team was:
Boldore Joltik Klink Ferroseed
All Pokes that appear there.

Rule of thumb: if a Pokemon gains experience, it gains EVs as well.
Battle Subway and Player WiFi Battles do not give experience, and therefore have no effect on EVs.
You don't gain experience through Rare Candies or the Daycare either. You gain levels. That's why when you use a Rare Candy or the Daycare, the Pokemon is always at 0% experience to the next level.
Every other battle in the game will give EVs, including Elite 4, random encounters, Trainer Battles, Gym Leaders and Boss Battles.
This also means Exp. Share will share the EVs. Both the Pokemon battling and the Pokemon receiving the Experience will get the same number of EVs. The EVs are not split. If the Pokemon normally gives 2 Speed EVs, both Pokemon will receive 2 Speed EVs. If the whole team has Exp. Share, they will all receive 2 Speed EVs. Actually it doesn't matter if you get level 100 before you maxed out EVs anymore (as of Gen 5), since stats gained from EVs are added immediately upon gaining the EVs now, instead of when you gain a level (the way it was in 4th gen and prior). So if you wanted to, you could level to 100, zero out your EVs (or have leveled via daycare/rare candy) and then EV train the appropriate stats.
Not that there's much point to leveling to 100 anyway.

I forget how to do it though. =(
It's like really hard because you need to time it perfectly but the basic idea is to reset the DS a second before the gts transferring animation,If you do it right you will have the pokemon in your party and also in the gts

What do you mean? so, say if I had a raichu and he was level 15 and I fully EV trained him, he would gain stats as I ev trained him and not the level? so if u have a level 70 tyrantitar EV'd he would have all of the EVs before 100?

What's GTS? And RNG? GTS = Global Trade Station. It's basically online trading.
RNG = Random number generator. When people get pissed about them losing because a 90% acc attack missed or because they got critically hit, they blame RNG.
You can trade after you do the thing with Fennel I think.
I just got the game, FC is 0647-5822-9089

I'm annoyed that I can never play Pokemon games against my friend. The infrared connection never links up, and we can't connect to the wifi either. Seriously Game Freak. Was going to troll him with a Rain Dance team...

you didnt get an ice move? I dont think anything in that gym resist ice beam. That or a nice steel type, and just set up. my cryognal outsped everything there, but dont go looking for it, not worth it. you trip over good steel types before that gym. Wouldnt suggest a dragon unless you can outspeed everythnig there. Haxorus is a bitch

dont have any ice pokemon or steel types leveled up anywhere near enough

Yeah, they'd just keep Dragon Dancing, meaning my Excadrill could sweep them all with a +6 STAB Earthquake :D
@ Coagulation: This was in-game. No EV training or breeding involved lol.

If you're not serious, just grab a cubchoo or vanillite and level them up a little bit. It doesn't take that long and you can pretty easily one shot most of the gym leader's pokemon.

LOL Entrainment Truant Durant, I love it. that's not even the best part the idea is you let them kill your durant, then go into chandelure alternate using protect and calm mind until you are +6 SpA then do that with flame charge to get as much Spd as possible
i edited my post to include magnezone instead of heatran - the magnezone i put can get +6 in all stats reliably if your killer is a steel type
for the other team, all you need to know is that assist can get roar, whirlwind, etc. and negates the -6 priority from phaze moves, so liepard's assist is (most of the time) a priority phaze
