It's harder to make a team this generation. Trying to fight Conkeldurr, Excadrill, Galvantula, Archeops, Darmanitan and Samurott on a team, but I'm sure I'll find better Pokemon later and will have no idea who to replace... Galvantula will probably be first to go, and then Samurott, but then I will have no surf Pokemon.

I forget his name, but I'm talking about the guy that looks like a mushroom/pokeball. Most annoying moveset I've played against in a while: Spore Ingrain Gigidrain Double Team I hit him like once every 4 chances. Every time I woke up, he'd sleep me again. I faced him in the battle subway, and my only super effective type (Darmanitan) already died. GG, computer. WP.

Made one? I thought the only way to get him was through event mystery gift? Beat the elite four, now what..

Lol Spore is pretty much the best move in the game, it's what makes Breloom so retarded good Luckily I had my Heatran still and the first fireblast hit and the rape commenced. @Nuked. If you played the Gen 4 games last month there were 3 mystery gifts of Shiny Versions of the Legendary dogs. If you transfer all three of them over to Black or White you get a Zoroark or have a chance to encounter him anyway

Well, those moves (except Aura Sphere IIRC) only have 60 BP, so people don't really use them. And the idea of a quick sweeper using Double Team six times then wiping out your whole team without losing any health doesn't seem very balanced, IMO. Edit: Victory Road was short in this game. Though not as bad as that pathetic excuse for Victory Road in Johto.

Don't want to spoil it but I feel it was easily the best ending in a pokemon game I just finished it too, and I really liked it. + Show Spoiler + The consecutive battles was kind of annoying though.. and that Hydreigon raped the shit out of most of my team >_>

Evasion moves are banned because it swings the entire battle in favor of luck more than actual skill. It could do nothing, it could also cause that pokemon to sweep an entire team of 6. It's less random that way. The ability Moody is banned for the same reason. Most always hit moves are really bad anyway besides Aura Sphere. You'd have to make sure like every one of your pokemon had an always hitting move just to combat 1 move. Smogon figured this was stupid. Man the Cynthia theme still kicks all ass. I loved it.

This game is mostly based on luck thats a dumb reason lol The thing is critical hit happens at very rare occurances. It also makes turtling less viable, for example 2 pokes fighting, 1 healing every turn and the other one attacking at approx the same heal rate. It could be drawn out for 20 turns (pp runs out) or the defender realizes that once a critical hit happens they are screwd. but yes, there is luck in this game and theres luck in most games. evasion just makes it more luck based. (and it pisses people off)

Saying this game is mostly about luck because of crit rate and status effects is like saying SC2 is mostly luck because people can scout incorrectly. Sure there are status effects that are luck based and such but in the vast majority of cases that stuff can be overcome. The game is FAR from luck based and in general the more skilled person is going to win. Evasion plain makes the game more random. Its entire purpose is to make events MORE random. It also affects how random the shit is a whole lot higher than most other things. Of course if you falsely believe that the game is mostly luck based this won't seem like an issue. It is though, so it was banned.

This was my lineup: Snivy - A lot of people say the starters kind of sucked, I disagree, Snivy's speed REALLY helped me. Timburr(final evolve form) - I found him to be really great once fully evolved. Audino - I decided to change things up and I chose this one, not that great not that bad, is pretty tough though. Darmanitan - At low levels he is a fucking savior, he is such a beast low level. Regarding difficulty, this game several others have commented I've seen is actually more difficult then previous ones, not hard but I actually had to level seperate pokemon something I have NEVER had to do before. All trainer pokemon were pretty even with my levels up until 35ish, I started to pull ahead. I was disappointed in the lack of triple battles as I do like them. A random last note, Gestis' Hydreigon was a fucking beast that caught me off guard not knowing what he did. First he uses surf to destroy my fire pokemon. I then send out my grass and he uses flamethrower. Uses a dragon attack to 1shot my Reshiram and I was fucked.

I think you're missing the point or misreading what they are saying. Evasion makes it almost totally luck based. Removing evasion decreases the chances of luck playing into a factor of who will win the battle. Also, by your logic, if this game is mostly luck based, then you should challenge one of the top pokemon battlers or something. You should be able to win 50% of the matches since it's mostly luck based.

Also Hydregion dies to one Focus Blast to the face. Worked for me anyway. In the prior games I always had a Froslass for the multitude of Dragon pokemon plaguing late game but Hydregion's Dark typing makes him take 2x to Fighting. He's not exactly durable. @Brees fine, but you're entirely missing the point. You can't overcome something completely chance based. That's my point. Don't be thick, it's not cute.

If an attack normally has 100% accuracy, and the opponent raises his evasion by 30%, meaning the attack has a 70% chance to hit, tell me, how exactly we are supposed to use skill to make the attack hit. Are you proposing that I can use skill to say, win the lottery? That's just based on chance too. The only way to counter Evasion is to use moves that increase your accuracy (Hone Claws, Butterfly Dance, etc. Uncommon moves), use never-miss moves (they all are weak, besides Aura Sphere), have everyone of your Pokemon with the Compoundeyes Ability, or use Sweet Scent or something to lower the enemy's Evasion. Not exactly viable for all six of your Pokemon.
