For reference, some of the other console games I've enjoyed immensely are Super Mario World Galaxy, Uncharted 2, Zelda: Twilight Princess, and especially Assassin's Creed 2.

Rent it. You'll most likely beat it 1 or 2 days.

I beat the game and being a casual fan of the series, I think it is the best in the series. The game difficulty I feel is pretty good. The puzzles are easy but enough thinking where it wasn't completely pointless...basically my kind of game. Near the end I was wishing it would just get over with and felt kind of drawn out. I'm not disappointed with the length, but for $60 and about an 8 hour game be careful if that kind of money is a lot to you.

I give this a 9/10. I was surprised that they pulled off a good game.
Note: I didn't follow the hype so I didn't have expectations.

Demon's Souls boys. 8-11 hours of playtime is a game you rent for a week. The gameplay is too simple to really make you want to replay it once its over. There is no denying that it looks really cool and is probably a fun ride while it lasts but it's simply too short to buy.

I've got 40 hours divided between two characters in Demon's Souls and I still have a good way to go before beating the game the first time. However in DS there is NG+, ng++ and beyond. There is so much epic shit that I want for my character that I will be playing for awhile. Now that I understand the multiplayer aspect of the game, I'm really excited to keep playing for the PvP. The game is fucking great, everyone should try it out.

For GoWIII, I'll get my brother to pick it up for me for free when it is available to him to rent. He's a manager at blockbuster and they get 10 free rentals a week but can't rent a newly released game for a month or 2. They can get games early before its actually released to the public but they have to be in the store on release date. Again it just seems like a waste of money to buy a game that you would get so little playtime out of. I found the first 2 to be a generic hackNslash shit. Well not generic but it's been cloned a lot and it never offered that much of a challenge.
