Three branches of Christianity hasn't solved anything Ethiopia, Iriqouis now just can pick two out of three. So either they have to get Religions to overlap or separate it into differing branches of Buddhism, and Islam. Or both. ??

The whole purpose pf splitting Christianity was to remove the AI from always picking it right? Except now you just have three usual AI's picking three different forms. No randomization.

The factoria moved down to the same tech level as the nau because that makes historically more sense and also is more helpful since grabbing the nau + factoria + a possible observatory makes it a worthwhile investment. Also, a new UA for the Japanese, both Samurai and Bushido essentially refer to the same period in Japan's history and I'd rather have something like Meiji restoration that would give the equivalent of a resident scholar bonus for catching up in tech (paralleling Japan's westernization in both the 19th and then post world war 2 period) I'd also like to see the ai run some kind of logic check before it picks 'piety' as an opener. If there are no faith granting wonders nearby and the ai didnt pick one of the faith granting pantheons then it shouldnt just automatically click into piety. I've seen way too many ais waste their first policy tree on pantheons.

It works alright right now. The risk of overlap is lower for the other religions so no need to split. (Of course the overlap still happen but its less frequent).

Catholicism: Austria, Aztec, Brazil, Celts, Denmark, France, Inca, Maya, Poland, Polynesia, Portugal, Rome, Spain, Venice Protestantism: America, England, Iroquois, Germany, Netherlands, Shoshone, Sweden, Zulu Eastern Orthodox: Byzantium, Ethiopia, Greece, Russia If you also consider that this includes Celts, Maya, Ethiopia and Byzantium (who either have early faith generation or really want a religion), it's no surprise that these go first.

In earlier versions city states could actually expand like that, which I think is much cooler than how it works right now.

I didn't know that they could do that I've seen it happen several times. 90% of the time they burn it down but sometimes they keep it.

Pretty decent starting location in Africa, room for 2 really heavy production cities and 2 decent coastal cities. got lucky with faith and was able to pick up + 1 from desert tiles, ok maybe ill give the Petra a go... got it on the city with 2 oases ... nice. First time I took the preachers perk ( 30 % farther away ) instead of the printing press one, wasn't even really looking to convert the world but France, Russia and Indonesia were near(ish) and all were converted to the mighty Islam in no time, I did not send any prophets to any of their cities. Seems a little powerful as a perk, my capital was pushing out 100+ pressure within around 150 turns I think. decided to finish the game since this one was just too good to pass up. Indonesia was my best friend during the whole game, he was the host for world congress and pushed through just about anything that was a benefit to me. World religion, ideology etc. Was a funny game all in all, had never had one were literally everything went right.

Maybe its time to get on deity if I can play so sloppy on Immortal. I dunno, I have a pretty hard time on Diety because while I can usually survive the initial turn 80 rush by some jerk civ (Mongols, Japan, or god forbid Zulu) but i have a hard time keeping up with a run away on the other side of the map. If you end up with Haiwathaa or some other brutally city-wonder-spamming civ I have no idea how to catch up. And the idea that you can 'just bribe their neighbor' doenst really work since 90% of the time that just lets them conquer their neighbor.

Thankfully i'm only playing on emperor right now so it bought me ample time to prepare and defend, conquer him and liberate the chinese/japanes capitals but still, I was pretty shocked at how fast he completely eliminated them.
