Guys, the game become 2-3 minute waiting between turn when i reach modern era. I dont think it was this bad in god and king. My computer is around 3 years old, core i3 and 8g ram, kind of mid-low graphic card. My question is, those of you who use mid-high end pc, do you get slow waiting time too? if i upgrade my pc, will it help much? Is there any other way than playing on smaller map and fewer ai?

turn to strategic mode just before you end turn will make the load times really fast. 2-3 minutes is ridiculous, i dont run civ 5 at max and im running a damn quad core with a weak gfx card and i dont get more than 5 seconds at any age.

Have I mentioned how much I hate the Celts? Any time she is in my game, no matter the distance, there will be a war over religion.

Hrm, must have been lucky I almost never have her in my games.
Venice always hates my guts though for spreading the one true word to their puppets.

Many of the other Civs don't seem to mind at all when I go a little bonkers on religion.

Personally I still detest Alexander with a passion, he seems better now but I will not forgive that rat bastard for all the useless cities he plunged in my territory or dumb wars he started when he was my neighbor.
Oh and Hiawatha ofcourse.

Siam always has a thing for my ass, and Hiawatha always covets land I own even when he's not on the fucking continent.
Fuck all of them though, I'm spreading the gospel of "Thug Life" to their lands whether they want it or not, if I'mma have ta chuck around the ghetto gospel a bit to get em listening then that just how it be.

The thing about religion is, if you have someone next to you founding a religion, you should just give up on it. In my current game I built Stonehenge, but my immediate neighbor Morocco founded a religion just a few turns after. I settled the Great Prophet I got and used the faith to buy buildings from Moroccan religion.
I am not a big of a fan of founding my own religion unless I have massive bonuses for it (Maya, Celts, Ethiopia)

Man, I just had an awesome start with Venice on diety. Unfortunately, my closest neighbor was Shaka. He came at me with a truly stupid amount of units on about turn 40.

i dont see how you can hate shaka, he has easily the best theme music in the game. maybe pedro and his war samba come second but man, that zulu theme is so catchy and uplifting and badass at the same time. blows my old favorite attila way way out of the water.

So I'll be getting Brave New World soon and giving it a shot, but I just reloaded the last game of Gods and Kings, as Samsung Khan of the mighty Januaria empire.
Yes, I know the team and manager have effectively swapped roles but it fit more nicely, especially as I was meant to be the mighty Samsung Khan, similar to Genghis. When I took over Marseille, I combined its name with the Targaryen family name to form Targyeille. I have otherwise changed the names of cities taken by making them sound a little more Mongol and my first city, offensively positioned near the first French city I planned to take, was named Proxorum.[/spoiler]

This is a game that I didn't finish and...
...I've found that my Mongol player has somehow entirely changed to Babylonians! O_O
What's more, I can see that the race on the other side of the map that SHOULD BE Babylonians are now Harold Bluetooth and his Danes! I even have a Bowman instead of some other unit!
Weird glitch and I haven't patched it since playing either. I have done nothing to make it change, as far as I am aware!

Yes, my 4Ghz overclocked i5 760 from 3.5 years ago lags in such situations.

Turning quick movement/combat will help tremendously or turning strategy map on before end turn like suggested.

Is there a MOD that shows something bad happening to the leaders when you defeat them? I HATE their smack talk, and I hate the fact that when I conquer someone they simply say sentences like 'your rage overpowered me, we'll see each other again'.

Can I just see an animation where his/her throat is cut, or something more violent? -.-

Why is it that Brave New World seems to have removed the ability to rename your Civilisation and naming adjectives (like "Roman")? I'm not referring to the city names, as you can still do that by clicking on the little 'Edit' button.
and why does F12 cause the game to crash now?
