Closest sales for BNW would the late 2013 sales. But I think GMG may have a 25% coupon ? Try this at GMG maybe http://blog.playfire.com/2013/06/are-you-keane-for-new-code.html Otherwise you still get a 10% cut for preordering on steam I believe.

Some things noticed, he has a CB on turn 25 -- pathfinder! -- . Petra gives you an extra trade route and free caravan instead of free amptheteater. New Natural wonders: Lake Victoria 6 food. Mines of King Solomon: 6 hammers. Lighthouse now gives you hammer for sea resources work as well as food. The value that the ai has for gold has been adjusted, 1 gold per turn for 30 turns is worth 30 gold. They are tuned to take gold per turn for trade instead of lump sums of gold. Also holy crap, he almost has no money, no more buying settlers in mass via tradition. Seems like the ai loaning you money still works, without any kind of time discount for money. So he sold 40 gold per turn to get 1200 lump. tiles and luxiries being worked are now more valuable than settling ontop of them because there is so little gold available on the map otherwise. There is now an "Eastern Orthodoxy" religion roads and caravansarai extend the range of your caravan route. trade route gold does not add to your income base for the purposes of markets/banks/wonders that increase your gold per turn as % of your income great merchants boost trade route gold via their custom house new pantheon belief: +2 faith for each gem or perals. reformation beliefs: evanglism turns your missionary into a quasi-inquistor that erodes the pressure-per-turn off your cities. heathen conversion: convert neighboring barbarians to your religion, which will make them your slaves. jesuit education -- faith buy science buildings. religions fervor -- holy warriors for industrial era and onward. sacred sites -- all buildings purchased with faith provide two tourism each to the glory of god -- use faith to purchase any type of great person starting in the industrial era unity of prophets -- other religions inquistors and prophets reduce your religious presence by half instead of eliminating War is much more expensive, and you cant do trade routes to a civ you are at war and they can pillage your trade routes. International Games -- highest hammer contribution to the competition gives you a tourism bonus for 20 turns and a free social policy if you win the gold. If you win silver you get extra 3 happiness and one time increase of 30 influence with city states. An extra 3 happiness if you just show up. If you win gold, you get the other two rewards too. World Congress can make a world religion, holy city gets extra 50% tourism, all civs with the same religion get more voting delegates, the religion spreads faster. Internet is a new tech, it doubles your tourism output. There is no UN building anymore, World Congress takes its place, the name can be changed to anything. Airports and Hotels both give you +50% tourism. There is also a national wonder calle the tourism center that gets you + 100% tourism. Airport now lets you do air lifts. You need empty slots for artifcats avaialbe *Before* you conquer a city, if you dont have empty slots for the art of the conquered, the art will disappear forever. Without defensive tourism you get massive civil disorder. -26 happiness for Songhai on his game play through. Cities start flipping after -20. They will flip to the most dominant-cuture-guy's ideology. So MadDjin was freedom, at war with -21 Denmark. If one of the Dane cities flips, it would go to the nearest Freedom Ideology city, whether its MadDjins or not. the ai handicap has been changed, there is a default level instead of just setting the ai bonus to chieftain level and then scaled up to difficulty. Great Musicians will grant you a tourism boon that is equivalent to your tourism output. Akin to the way Great Scientists beaker boost is related to your research output per turn. It has the ability called "concert tour", it will shoot off its tourism attack not only at a specific city but also 20% of its tourism attack will hit the other cities. The goal is to get your tourism output higher than their cultural output, once your tourism output beats their cultural output its forever stuck that way, so once someone's culture is influential over you you cant reverse that without a war. The Great Gallasea has both ranged and melee attack. here is his channel, and it will be updated after the show is over. Episode 20 is what you want. http://www.youtube.com/show/beyondthemonument

It's probably similar to how people said the game was shit at release, but with tons and tons of patches (and an expansion) it managed to erase most of its flaws. I think I'll wait for the Steam summer sale... in 2014

The game certainly got better and for me my issues with vanilla were about some broken systems and a lack of machanics. So these things got better but the game didn't do a 180. BNW seems to me a bigger jump than G&K did and while G&K was on par to civ4 for me, BNW will cross that line (or maybe after a balance patch) (of course its only my opinion).

Of course the real jump in the next level of civ will be the one we all always wanted, a super ai. No more lame cheating, and no me having to exploit game mechanics to stay on par for the first 150 turns before I wreck things. I would love to see upgrade ai and play with ai that are smart but not cheating to much. I actually like cunning and backstabing part of the current ai. I hope we get some improvement in this area in BNW
