Just asking, as I would be interested in rerolling. We both completed the first wing of ICC10 when in a casual guild that was full of very mediocre players. We are capable of doing more than that for sure, but were held back by those guys. I personally have also downed the 3 princes and the green dragon in 25 man in a different guild's runs, but I was somewhat carried on those occasions I guess since I was way more undergeared than everyone else in raid even though my skill performance was as high as anyone's. I'm certainly capable of not standing in fire, and it seems like that's all that is really necessary for progress in pretty much any raid nowadays :O We just need more people really. Particularly people who are also capable of not standing in fire. What it is that you think would make it hard for us to manage the guild? If it's time, well I'm logging minimum 6 hours a day since I play poker for a living and don't even play poker much nowadays as I'm totally bored of it, and she's logging 2+ hours a day after she gets back from work on weekdays to do her dailies and randoms dungeon etc and more hours than that on weekends, providing we have no prior arrangements or nerd gatherings etc to attend to. If it's something else that may be bothering you, I'd like to hear cause I dunno what you'd be worried about. I'm certainly open to suggestions and reccomendations as I don't have experience running this type of thing myself, but right now it really just comes down to recruiting the players. We have about 11~12 players signed up already, but they're all alts so if we're thinking about raiding any time soon we either need to give these guys time to get to 80 and gear up or we need a lot more people to start transferring mains or 80 alts to Bloodscalp. I think it's just a matter of time though, many people have been signing up and showing interest in a short period of time, and the idea is only 24~ hours old. Jump on the bandwagon! I've also done a bit of raid leading and been GM of 2 guilds if leadership ability is needed.

Maybe it would be helpful to put together a list of classes and experience. It would suck to reroll/transfer when the class doesn't fit raid comp (if the goal is end game raiding).

The more the merrier ![]() Running a 25+ man guild isn't easy and managing 25+ people and raid slots aren't easy. Especially when things don't go as planned or well. There's alot of shit that just comes up and after a while it wears down the best of them. I have noticed that while more guilds are raiding at a semi-serious level since BC/WotLK, the turnover rate on guilds collapsing and forming with any sort of notable progression has been high as well (at least on the 2 servers I have been on, one Alliance dominated and the other Horde). Just wondering if you guys know what you are getting into, because I know it seems like a great idea right now, it might not be a month or 2 down the line. I know plenty of players from top3 server guilds who broke off and tried to do their own guild and it never panned out to anything. Same for server transfers of guilds. Here's the problem I do have though, when exactly will be your raid times (face it, this game and your guild will be raid-driven)? How will you distribute loot (the great guild crusher and choosing a proper system will be important)? You should give some concrete information along those lines so those transferring wouldn't be making a leap of faith (let's hope it works out) or those leveling will have something to look forward to. Yes, I know you and susie want it to work out, but guilds don't always.

I agree with that. I ran a guild for about a month, and with everyone feeling they were entitled to something or another, it was an absolute pain in the ass. Edit: Though I don't think that would be a problem with TL. Everyone shares a common interest, and while it's still possible there may be a few douchebags, the majority of the community has a good head on them, and I think it will translate well into the guild.

That's the key. I've ran 2 raiding guilds. One for about 6 months and my current one for about a year and a half. It's more about people with the same goals in mind than about ability, dkp, schedule, etc. If the people you have all share the same goal and mindset; you'll do fine.

No ability and competence has everything to do with succeeding at end game raiding. Having the common goal of progression is nice but you can't have 8 shitty players and expect to down bosses even as easy as this game has gotten.

I understand quite a bit has changed since I quit (I would certainly hope so with an expansion and a LOT of patches). It's not like I couldn't look this information up elsewhere, but could anyone provide me with a very brief rundown of what exactly changed since 70 that would make me interested again? I would be returning from the perspective of someone who played entirely too much in the past, but would be interested in some casual raiding / pvp / etc if I were to return. I'd like to second that request, expect I want to know what happened since vanilla WoW.^^ Also, would I need to buy every expansion or just 1?
