You really are one of the best players not just in the foreign scene but in the world and in my mind you are the best in the world already <3 -Shae Quoting and echoing this awesome sentiment. Scarlett only lost to the #1 and #2 finishing players, since Creator and Parting are now both in the grand finals. That's as difficult a path as they come. | ||

If you seriously think that things like raw IQ, mathematical aptitude, verbal skills, etc. are purely a result of genetic makeup, then you also, by proxy, have to accept that different races (i.e. black/white/asian/etc) are better or worse suited for various intellectual tasks... do you really want to go down that road? The intricacies of the human genome are far beyond our current understanding, don't pretend that you or anyone else has even the faintest grasp of what's actually going on "under the hood." I am an actual physician, I am very familiar with this area. Apparently you thought the point was the start an argument. It wasn't. What you hold is layperson's view of 'it's complicated'. However, we do know some things. The fact that you ask about what road I want to go down, demonstrates you've missed my point. Science doesn't care what road one 'wants' to go down, it's not about 'wanting', its about determining what is true. There is no scientific reason why there could be no difference between genders or even races, in fact its a complete valid theory from the point of view of evolution, for example. Chances are you're young and quite 'Hollywood-ized'. If it's not comfortable for you to go down 'that road', then I would suggest not going into a field that demands objectivity, because you run of risk of encountering findings that could be emotionally unpalatable or politically unpopular. You can spurt out a whole bunch of technical terms that don't mean jack-shit, and a couple irrelevant analogies (testosterone therapy in adults? are you seriously, as a "physician," comparing a fully matured brain to that of an adolescent?), or you can stop trying to confuse people by spouting a whole bunch of jargon that means absolutely nothing to anyone with half a brain. "Guys' brains work better for Starcraft." Says who? A JAMA article published in 1946? Or are you just fallaciously extrapolating what data we do have, just like what happened in chess, assuming that intrinsic mathematical aptitude translates to Starcraft skill? Why don't you tell the Polgar sisters how that worked out. They'd probably find you pretty amusing. If I've offended you in some way, I apologize. Swearing is not necessary, just talking like an adult will be fine. It's clear you are not in the medical field, the fact that you cannot believe testosterone is used in adults tells me that. Testosterone anti-therapy is so routine there is a multi-billion dollar industry built around ONLY that type of therapy (see Zoladex, Eligard, Zytiga, etc etc), for prostate cancer. Google it. I prescribe this literally every day. Testosterone therapy is used in infertility as well, and for other reasons. Unfortunately research does not seek to comply to the American Idol glossy reality we are all sold. It's interesting folks have no trouble believing in the evils of various pharmaceuticals.......except for something like gender reassignment where suddenly things must change to accommodate the political climate. It doesn't, it's still a chemical alteration and just like other chemical alterations, there can be consequences. Especially when you start young. Genetics are programmed to make the body function in a certain way, and mucking around can cause problems. There is no debate about this, the debate is about whether the effects outweigh the problems. We do this all the time in cancer therapy both for men and women, and we have the same debate. I worried that if there's too many moronic negative posts she'll get dejected and give up, but I think that at this point, she just doesn't give a single fuck because she's the badass that we all want to be, and I should try to be as awesome as her. :D Again my apologies. I would challenge you to find a single negative things in anything I've said. There is none. Negativity has nothing to do with it, it is just a scientific perspective. The definition of troll is not 'person who does not reinforce your belief system', perhaps you are confused. Science is not interested in complying with socio-political correctness, emotional predispositions, or even message board belief systems. It just is what it is. I would also suggest that if negative posts could stop gamers, there would be no gamers. Anyway you are going to believe what you want to believe, and that's up to you. If you ever want to know the current debates in the field of the perspective of cold hard science, lots of info out there, access at your leisure. No offense intended. I'm a girl and I do take her as an inspiration, not b/c I feel like we share the same genes/hormones, because she's amazing at the game! If anything I respect her more for being exactly who she is because it takes more courage than anything else. She have to go through so much more stuff than almost everyone here and in the pro scene and still manages to be so good at this game with all that going on. I'm sure whatever possible slight advantage people speculate about from a Y chromosome is negated by the BS she have to deal with all the time. I couldn't care less what genes/hormones she have, I take inspiration from her specifically because I can relate to her, the way she acts/interacts feels female and familiar to me and therefore it's very easy for me to be inspired by her. Scarlett wants to be known for her SC2 skills and nothing else, since this is her fanclub let's not start this kind of debate here please! My apologies, didn't see this before replying (was away). I wasn't looking for a fight, just trying to find out if girls felt that Scarlett represents them, or not, or whether they cared either way. In the field I'm in, I'm always interested in these things because self-image in the context of gender is very interesting. I suspect because of the adversarial atmosphere it can create such as my friend above demonstrates, if there are any who feel otherwise, they would likely not speak up.
