And I agree, it's too weird for this to come out of nowhere. Maybe Naniwa got to her? They were all talky talky yesterday and now they both quit on the same day? Very weird.

I was helped by wonderful people to reach to you in KR and understanding what an amazing girl you are, and those moments were among the happiest in my life. Remember that karakoke evening? In that tiny basement with all the soju, with SKTParalyze, Sacsri, and all of us, karaoking our asses off on anything from Kpop to U2. Easily one of the best moments of my life. At one point i went to that dude's fridge and said "hey youre out of soju" and he looked at me "yeah you guys drank it all". And you, you were so happy. And such a great singer! I know you probably dont care about what im about to say, ignore me on skype if u want, whatever --i just have to say this. The tweet is a little hard to digest. It just hits like a truck. Like, BOOM. qxc also did this but he explained why, and said he will come back for lotv. Even if you dont come back for lotv, people have the right to know whats wrong. Its nice to, you know, give a reason, throw a bone, for the people that care about you so much, support you so much and love you so much. Are you ok? Is it the wrists problem? Is this because of acer? Is it the stress? Was it the SSL? Is it the amount of travel? Did anyone suddenly upset you? Is it the university, the feel that you cannot do both? Are you switching games? The abruptness of this tweet just makes it seem that something went wrong in the last 24hrs, as you were enthused for the LotV changes, you were teasing naniwa and everything was cool and funny... and now out the blue, this drops like a nuke bomb. It just doesnt compute. Let the community understand why, Sasha. There are so many people that genuinely care about you and they simply want to know you well and happy. While there are parts in this that I agree with I think your being a little to harsh and this i dont think helps her emotionally this must have been a very difficult decision for her to make. She has given alot not only to her fans but the community as a hole yes it would be nice to understand her reasoning but it is not something that we are owed.

Im just concerned. | ||

It's hard to see one of the people who I can legitimently say inspired me go so suddenly and with such little warning. But if this is something she's been thinking about for some time, I guess this is a decision she's set on. Starcraft without her will not be the same, and I can objectively say it will be a worse place when she's gone. All I can do is pray she'll reconsider at some point, but if not I wish her all the best and thank her for what she's done. Disagree. This feels like a decision that she's thinking over. Also, how many times have we heard Dota players say "I'll retire if I don't win TI this year"? Also shoutout to Brett Favre. And Jordan.

He's probably going to threaten to retire again at the end of this summer. NA only place where Melee can live, want to teach, NTSC is bs, my left ring finger itches every other Thursday... ![]()

I don't blame her one bit, it has to take a toll on you playing hours a day for years and years, constantly on the road. These progamers log countless thousands of hours at the keyboard, eventually you learn all the ins and outs of the game, as it has barely changed since it came out, and then inevitably boredom sets in especially for the bright people at the top like Scarlett. And perhaps the hardest part is, as far as I can tell, to basically do it alone, the life of a foreign pro, alone in front of the screen, grinding the ladder for endless hours. Perhaps the biggest reason the foreign scene has never been able to bridge the gap to the Koreans...the Koreans have coaches, race coaches, support staff, even maids, drivers; teammates, practice sessions, practice partners, team houses; the support of a professional team. When Koreans win, they thank their teammates and coaches (and families) for helping bring their success. The rare occasion a foreigner wins, they thank their sponsors. It's sad to see Scarlett go but it is inevitable eventually. The career of a progamer is short, I think it takes its toll on you mentally and physically. If you think about it, even hockey players, football players, spend their careers getting pummelled, bashed around and hit in the head, but their pro careers still usually last 15-20 yrs. Few progamers, especially in Starcraft, even make it to 5. Of course I want to see Scarlett play on, but I understand why she would not want to. The bottom line is you need to have that passion and enjoyment of the game, otherwise you'll find that daily grind on the ladder is very hard.

So if you're switching games, let us know to what! And if you're going back to school, then good luck and let us know if you ever return to gaming! Good luck out there Scarlett!

When you lost that game to Trap on Frost, I felt so broken. You were consistently blowing my mind that week, with Red Bull NA and your play that day, and seeing that I would have to wait again for you to contest a title hurt inside. Your play and competition always manages to make me happy, and I want to see you be happy too when holding up a trophy and being called a champion. Of course, this doesn't happen for all players but it's really the thing I've wanted to see most in my life for what feels like forever now. Casting (well, kinda casting) your games in the LRSL and playing team games with you afterwards was some of the most fun I have had with this game. Your personality is something I love and appreciate and you seem to really try and have as much fun as you can and allow everybody else to have fun, too. You've played some incredible games, had some amazing runs, and affected me and a lot of others in a really positive way. If you were to leave I'd be very sad, but I'd still be thankful. You've done a lot (but you better not just dissappear from tl or something that wouldn't be cool haha)
