But her last tournament wasn't WCS, so if that was the case the tweet would be wrong.

It's not what the literal tweet says, she could go back on that anytime, but it's the implication of what it means. This is saying "I am quitting progaming", the specifics have yet to be filled in especially becuase it's a "may be" and "I think"

Haste and frustration maybe, but I know she's reading this and I know she's serious about what she's said. She would have told us something different by now if she wasn't.

well i think herself and acer in a day or two need to put something outthere not everything just some clarification there are thousands of people who are wondering is she going to play wcs or is it retirement or something else

i dont think there has been any bad pr in case of Scarlett but you cant just say something like that and then just leave it just a statement 2-3 sentences would be better then just leaving people to wonder. like myself right now kinda going crazy hoping to see her one last time in wcs.

Wow , I thought you told me earlier to not put pressure and bla and such :p in this iam just saying they should just let the community know one way or another whatever her decision is i will support and wish her the best but leaving as it is right now just saying i might be playing my last wcs and then not even play in wcs it should be clarified.
we can all reasonably presume she means to retire and that is totally and hole heartily her decision to make and we can be sad for but she hasn't come out and said but kinda left us on cliff there can be many reasons for this but you should say something.

I don't understand how huge stars in a game where they are really important to the community and have tons of fans can just flat out retire. I totally get if a long break is needed like QXC/Naniwa, or playing a lot more sparingly but still staying around (like Stephano who still streams and does special events every so often). But if I was a huge personality in SC2 at this point in the game the last thing I'd be doing is committing to retirement when more people like this are really needed, even if I was really sick of the game and/or having other issues (with the exception of if it was some serious illness or something really big). If it was a time when the game was huge and could easily take the blow, it would make a lot more sense to do it then IMO.
I hope Scarlett will at least give her best try to go out with a bang with a strong performance at WCS and give LOTV a try sometime down the road even if it's many months from now or sometime next year.
Best wishes to you regardless no matter how things play out, Scarlett =). You have had a very nice career in SC2 so far as a foreigner, great job!

Okay, I am officially super bored at work, so I put on my thinking cap, got a little obsessive, and came up with the following possibilities in order from most to least likely.
First, some thoughts: she obviously hasn't been practicing very much lately, judging by both her results and and what kind of play we've seen in game. she seems to have very limited understanding of the current meta (dies to the same hellbat pushes over and over again, even when scouted), and her mechanical skill looks to be falling off (see games vs TY where she has 0 map awareness). so with that in mind, let's take a look.
1. Scarlett retires from progaming for good - this to me seems like most likely to be what happens, and it breaks my heart. with her failing wrists, falling results, and the bleak looking future of HotS, we can say that this is a very probable outcome. She will want to get on with her life and move on, be it school or something in esports, i don't know. Her tweet very much implies this is what's happening.
2. Scarlett takes a break QXC-style and comes back for LotV - I think Scarlett is a competitive person at heart, and I also think there might be a little bit of passion and hope left in there. This solution would give both time for her to rest up her wrists, and leave the option to come back later for a fresh start in a very new feeling game open. She hasn't hinted at this, but it seems to me to be the most reasonable solution and the one I actually hope she chooses. She seemd optimistic about LotV, so it's a possibility even if she doesn't say so right now.
3. Scarlett goes back on this tweet/takes a very short break and continues gaming as normal - I don't see this happening. Scarlett isn't Taeja, she's taken breaks before and told us exactly that, if she says she's gonna quit I think she's telling the truth. This really yields no benefit to her unless she were to suddenly regain momentum and start posting better results. Her wrists continue to explode, and she burns out doing this I think.
4. Scarlett switches to Dota2 - This is what Templar says is happening, and I hope to god it doesn't. I of course want her to be happy and if she likes this game then all the power to her, but to me this is almost as sad as retiring. She has expressed interest in this game in the past, and the scene of it looks good, so it wouldnt be completely unreasonable, but we have yet to see a single example of a starcraft player who successfully moved over to a current major MOBA and didn't want to come back in 6 months. I think she's smart enough to know this will probably not work out.

regarding dota i believe she really good at and she started playing wc3 first and then got into mapmaking but im pretty sure she could be really really good in dota.
her and acer are up to something just dont know what.

Wow, I may have gone overboard with that post >_<

may i ask why you think it's her and acer?

Whatever she decides to do, I am happy that I had the privilege to watch her play. Her way of thinking when it comes to Starcraft is unique in my opinion, it is what made me a fan of her and Starcraft as a game. I accidentally watched that famous game against Bomber when I was at a friends house and I was sold. I had never heard of Starcraft before that. She can be very proud of what she has accomplished and so am I.
Sasha, I already told you this on Twitter, follow your heart.

because they have been tweeting they have something big to announce and lets be honest Scarlett is acer and they just put a lol team together it wouldn't be a surprise if they get a dota one, in regards to sc i think they just keep bly and nerchio mma goes to a team korea. Scarlett joins with there new dota team that way they get to still have her on there team.

I totally agree. Let's keep this positive. We are her fanclub, let's support her in probably one of the most difficult decisions in her life. She might quit or she doesn't, either way she has brought us a lot of great moments and a fanclub that I enjoy to be a part of.

To be fair, she should at least tell us if she's playing in the qualifiers, unless there's some business reason for her not to. For all his shortcomings, at least Naniwa gave his fans the same courtesy when he decided to pull out of EU qualifiers.
