I'd wish horrible things upon all of them, but the fact is their lives must have been pretty horrible for them to seek their thrills from scandals in a video game community. People say shit about how much better TL was before sc2, and even as an sc2 fan, im starting to see why. Nice post man, I never understood that part of the community that seems to feed entirely off drama, or trying to get people fired/censured for their actions. Probably a jealousy thing with at least some of them.
Last 3 pages or so are among the most pathetic I have ever, EVER read on TL, god. Anyway gl SaSe hope to see his Korean training pay off, he stands a decent chance to take this if he avoids a lot of PvZ

Being 12 and get a camera in your face for the first time is kinda hard no matter you are happy or not when 20k people are watching. Not being used to talk in front of people, being nervous and so on makes what you say different from what you mean. Casters get so much power being the only people the audiance listen to during a game. Some casters use it very well and some can't handle it in the right way. And from what I heard from everyone was they were way out of line during these games. If I was unprofessional what is telling everyone to #StopHarassing12YearOlds and tweet it to me at twitter then? They would probably be happier to cast two fiveminutegames so they could have another coffeebreak.^^
Before the game I thought Najzmajs is young and would enjoy playing a longer game than getting 4gated in 5 minutes. He even made a smiley in end of second game and kept playing for some minutes beforing gg out, doubt you do that if you are upset. But ok I admit, after seeing his cute face I felt a little bit bad. Will go say sorry later! ^.^v
<3<3 Its all good.
You vs. Naniwa in the finals imo... PvP... Who wins? Hard to say!

No worries SaSe, you didn't do anything wrong!
There's just some really pathetic people in here stirring up drama, taking things way too seriously and what not.

If this were some kind of Stephano manner Hats in middle map, for example, nobody would care... But in this case, the casters were responsible about this, and all the context is important.
Well, GL for the rest of the tournament.

SaSe didn't have any malicious intentions, he loves kids!

I was one of the guys standing behind you that game and there was a good atmosphere, i didnt think najzmajs seemed upset over it, and you put on a show for the spectators there.
i think the problem is that people love to bitch and whine online, and swedish culture isnt as "strange" (from my point of view) as many other peoples cultures. we dont take cussing so serious, we dont take sex all that serious, we dont censor our tv or videogames, and we dont mind fooling around and having fun.
you were entertaining people, there was a good mood on site, if people want to sit on stream and cry over something they have NO FUCKING IDEA about, then let them. they will always be that way. they live to cry and whine, its all they care about.

i don't really care about any of these forced controversies, but i have to point out your babbling about swedish culture makes no sense in the context -.- the only reason you don't see any swedish people whining on sase is because 1. there's not that many people whining on sase from any country 2. sase is swedish so swede's are more inclined to support him. Nothing in those two reasons has anything to do with swedish culture and it's just people.

fair point. what i really meant was that i think it is bloody ridiculous to think he did anything with the intent of BM'ing.
SaSe is a very nice guy and doesnt deserve the bad rep some people try to give him.
too much stupid drama in this community, they should just go watch days of our lives and read celebrity gossip magazines.
|
Well, I guess the community wasn't satisfied when they chewed a piece out of HDStarcraft.
Sase is a cool bro, Wolf and Apollo were just completely overreacting.
|
At the end of the day, isn't it just a game? I didn't see the game or anything. But we are talking about a kid right? He is twelve right? He is playing a game right?
So....Maybe....Lets just have some fun?
Stupid people taking things serious.
And as for the take on swedish fans. Americans and Limeys arent the least inclined to cheer/defend the hounor of their star players?
So then i can say that idra/huk/demuslim would get smacked around by Naniwa? Right?
Idra, huk and demuslim wouldnt get a round in a best of a 1000 agaisnt naniwa!
(whether its true or not is totally uninteresting)

When I watched it I thought sase was trying to be nice by playing longer fun games and that there would be drama about the casters acting unprofessionally.
Guess I was wrong.

Whether intended or not, the whole thing came off as "Watch this guys, I'm so good that I can beat this guy easily even while imposing handicaps on myself" (nexus walls, throwing away units, using per definition bad unit compositions), and I felt it was a dick move. It was not a service to the fans, and definitely not a service to the kid, whatever Sase wants to tell himself to justify the games. Imagine if a young tennis prodigy entered his first big tournament only to get beaten early on by a Roger Federer only using his left hand to swing - humiliation and nothing else. Just so unnecessary.

You make a good point, but if you play a game where you show off like that, I think the whole thing depends on how your opponent reacts to it. I havn't heard NajzMajz's opinion and obviously I can't claim to know what he felt, but I CAN try to think how I would react if was in a similar situation.
So, I'm 12 years old, participating in my first big offline tournament (which is an achievement in itself), I've already won a game and secured my advancement in the tournament, and now I'm playing vs a progamer who's doing crazy stuff to show off, even though it's clear he could actually beat me easily if he played a straight game. Would I be offended by that? Or humiliated? I don't think so. Honestly, I think I would find it pretty funny with a progamer goofing around a bit, stretching out the game, and giving me more time to play him and more time in the spotlight.
If NajzMajz had been eliminated from the tournament after the game, I'd probably have felt different about it, but he wasn't; he and Sase were both cleared for moving on anyway AFAIK, so it wasn't a humiliating exit from the event for him.
Again, I havn't heard his reaction, so I don't know. Maybe he's really upset about losing to someone playing stupid just for show, and in that case the whole thing is pretty sad, and I think Sase is doing the right thing to apologize to him. If he's not upset, well... I don't see why any of us should be either.

And thats you and your opinion, which I find ridiculous. That you even think of it this way is beyond me, and I sincerely doubt you have seen or heard Sase in games or interviews before.

Do you people seriously have nothing better to do than to get upset that someone builds a few nexuses in a match he's winning? WHO CARES? Get over yourselves. wow.
|
From everything Ive seen and heard from SaSe the last year or so, I do not believe for a second that he intended to humiliate the opposing player or anything like it.
Well well
haters gonna hate,
Go win this tourney Sase

TL has the least amount of drama of almost any community I've ever seen...
It's human nature to create drama, you will see it in basically anything humans are involved in.

Now over to the games at DreamHack .
SaSe just defeated Puma 2-1! Watched it here at DreamHack and SaSe played really, really well - especially in the last game where Puma tried to do a 1-base 1-1-1 all-in that he is famous for.
But that idn't work against SaSe

good start Sase, keep on winning!!

Way to go Sase, keep it up man
