Did not expect this, I mean, Polt was TSL's captain and he seemed happy in Korea.
So Polt is almost certainly leaving GSL right?

Doesn't matter where he goes or if his skill drops I will continue to support him. Hope someone like Liquid picks him up and he continues to play in decent leagues. Shame about GSL though Polt fighting!

PROFOUND SADNESS
At least this doesn't spell the absolute end of TSL like it usually did when people left. Polt did his duty as temporary stabilizer for TSL, and Coach Lee is extremely thankful. To be truthful, I never really expected Polt to stay in TSL for the longest time, with his studies and fame, Coach Lee needed him to act as captain and bring TSL into the front stage, and he did it in spades. Without Polt, TSL would likely have went the way of NSHS. At least Polt can move into greener pastures and maximize his progaming career with a good foreign team. If its Liquid, I'm happy, TSL and Liquid are quite similar because they are family, not just teams. If Polt finds a good team, I'm satisfied with this change, and for all he did for TSL.
(P.S. Does Fionn know, or is he crying in his sleep over this?)

Its not like Polt retired or got into a horrible accident, or contracted a terminal illness. TSL may fall, but Polt will always be there.

I'm hoping for Azubu/Liquid. I could see EG and would be happy if he got a big payday, but they just signed Jaedong, so who knows.
Worst thing is that he'll probably have to drop Code S when he finally seemed to be on the verge of cracking a top eight.

I'm more disappointed that Polt has to drop GSL, he seemed really moralized to play at his best after defeating Bbyong, and now he says he wants to play in foreign tournaments only. Maybe he did get a bit frustrated that GSL was so difficult, and found foreign tournaments an easier source of money.

Weird thing is that he probably knew he was leaving for a while now, so if he was 100% sure about dropping GSL, he could have forfeited. I guess he didn't want to do that before he officially left the team, but I guess there's still some chance he'll play in Code S next season.
It depends on if he's really going to school 100% full time. If he is, then yeah, probably dropping GSL and just doing foreign tournaments.
I think Azubu would be the best option for him. Pretty sure he is studying in Texas, so that would mean he would be near Violet. Also gives him an easy gateway to Korea if he wants to participate in GSTL or a GSL. Liquid and EG would also give him the chance to do cameo Proleague drop ins, but not the Violet factor.

I really want Polt to at least compete in the next GSL and then move to the US. And Liquid or Azubu would be cool

Looks like I might do a text interview with Polt a bit after he moves to America to get some answers on his future for 2013. He really wants to win some foreign tournaments in 2013, so don't be afraid this is some sort of semi-retirement. Keep supporting Polt!

Is it confirmed that Polt is leaving Code S? Liquipedia still has his name for GSL next season.

He said classes start in January, so I'm pretty sure that he has to drop out of Code S. He does want to try and compete during his vacation season if he can.
