I think MC's prob the best player in the world just based on sheer tournament placings and exposure, but MC has had many more opportunities to showcase his talents. Nestea at MLG (Sundance wants it!) would be epic! So MC's probably the best player simply because he plays more? What kind of logic is that? I could also say that MC hasn't beaten any top tier Korean since March, either online or offline (unless we were to count Inca and HuK...but that's extremely debatable). If we take away MC's results when he smashes a bunch of foreigners (which he certainly is consistent at), the guy's slumping harder than MVP, who at least beat SuperNova and Losira last month in the Sagacity Invitational.

You should reread what he said before you make yourself look retarded. He said BASED ON RESULTS in tournaments.

You can't rate someone based on "sheer tournament placings and exposure," without looking at WHO the guy is playing IN those tournaments. So...make myself look retarded? ok...

Nevertheless, I feel that Nestea is the better player overall because consistency is far, far more important than being good sometimes and being terrible other times. I think MC is actually rather consistent when beating lower-level competition, which, while I did scoff at in my previous post, IS impressive. However, he's incredibly inconsistent in beating players who are at his level, or close to his level of skill. NesTea is the direct opposite - he rarely loses to people he should lose to...MVP's the only exception (although it's debatable that there's ANYONE that he should lose to, except maybe sC back in May - who has a monstrous TvZ). Yet, he loses to relative scrubs like Ensnare back in March, although San was pretty legit back then. Online, we all know of NesTea's plight - losing to Goody, Ddoro, Lovecd, etc. I think out of everyone, MVP, as his Korean ELO peak suggests, is probably the best from what we've seen thus far. Unfortunately, the guy is even more inconsistent than MC - which is why most people don't consider him to be part of the big 3 anymore. The only player to challenge NesTea for "best ever" right now is Bomber, imo. IF he can win this GSL, especially against NesTea, the guy will officially be the best in the world, even with only one GSL title. The guy has already peaked at over 2300, being the second to do so after MVP.

He has clearly stated that he doesn't like it. I don't know exactly why, it could be lag or some other stuff. Nontheless - NesTea is like the fish in the sea when he is in a booth. I do agree that both MVP and Bomber are great players but I can't agree when you say the only player to challenge NesTea "best ever" is Bomber. Bomber is good but so far he has not shown fantastic results and tournament winnings, which MVP, MC and NesTea has shown a lot of times. To become the "best ever" you need to show a lot more, and from my perspective the only two players right now to compete for the unofficial title "Best player in the world" is NesTea and MC. MC is out of GSL and now NesTea has the chance of his lifetime to do something historical - become the first 3-time GSL winner. If he does that I would gladly call him the best player in the world for the first year of StarCraft2.

![]() nestea is the best, gonna win this season of gsl for sure. It's really more about finding him an opponent that he won't 4-0 like a beast. I'd say gl, but i think i'll wish it for the other guy so maybe it won't be terribly one sided ![]() Nestea Fighting!

The guy has already peaked at over 2300, being the second to do so after MVP. OK.. I dindnt mean to start a flame war simply based on my initial comments. I liken the "sheer tournament placings and exposure argument" to a MVP race in sports. If there were two identical Michael Jordans in the world, one played in Los Angeles, while the other played in Minnesota, the one in Los Angeles, mainly due to exposure/attraction/marketing value will probably win the MVP or be considered the best basketball player in the league, regardless of the fact that he is no better of a basketball player than the other Jordan. MC is the Los Angeles Jordan -- he travels around the world like a rockstar placing top 3 in many tournaments (weak competition or not) and has a huge fan base + following. Nestea in the meantime is amazing and certainly an equal if not better player, but plays in a "smaller market" if you will -- no international tournaments, no NASL, no online tournaments. Thus, I made my case that MC is probably considered the best player in the world at this time. Of course, if Nestea wins this 3rd GSL title and adds it to his list of achievements, then myself and many others will consider 3 GSL Titles as the unmatched achievement that defines the best player in the world. I'm very confused as to why you were upset with my comments. I am a fan of both players, and they are currently tied with 2 GSL Titles and I gave MC the slight edge due to his international dominance and recent showing in the NASL finals which Artosis dubbed "the highest level of sc2 seen yet." Please understand...

MC, Bomber or any other had just as much opportunity to get to the championship and they botched it. It was their series to lose. Players like HongUn and Byun are assaulted by condescending fanboys for winning. If they are such bad players how did they win 3 times? If they played bad then MC and Bomber played worse. In conclusion the better player wins in the end so stop complaining that Nestea isn't as good as MC and Bomber. It's not that simple. While I'd agree that Nestea is better than MC or Bomber at this point, you can't determine the "better" player in entirety by a single tournament performance. Consistency plays a huge factor, and it depends on what you define as being "better". Is the "better" player the more consistent player? Or perhaps do we measure "better" by how good someone is at his peak?

Or perhaps do we measure "better" by how good someone is at his peak? But its hard to say if someone like lets say MC or Bomber can hit that peak again. So obviously consistency is my definition of "better". Also considering how they are both confident in their mirror match ups, its hard to believe they let three games go to the underdogs yes? Its not like they only had one or two shots to take the series. I observed that recently Nestea hasn't been losing Bo5's so there is no excuse that MC or Bomber lost if they are better players.

I would not even name him in top 7 of terrans. Maybe if he is more consistent and show some results he we can start talk about him beeing top5 or somthing. Like the games today, he played 1 great game, and people prais him like a god. He played 1 ok game and 3 crappy games. No. these Bomber fans/Bomblivers has hyped this kid too much, glad buyn whiped that smirk of his face and got him and the bomblivers back on the ground. PS: Nestea will win, Congratz in advanced.
