It's called sportsmanship, doesn't matter if you lose/win.
In tennis both players heads towards middle of the court to gratulate each other, there is no such thing as "loser had a bad day so he choose to either say GG or not".
As i said, you can support anyone you want, its yours decision. But accept the fact that your idol is known for BM and do not flame other players only because you are living in kids world without any social rules. It's E-SPORT at highest level, it should be handled professionaly by players.
Refusing handshake = BM from naniwa. Accept that and it's end of the discussion.
Agreed.

Edit: Also, this ^^^

I'm a fan of Nani's skill and dedication to the game. I'm NOT a fan of his manners. Too bad that such a skilled player insists on making an ass of himself. He could be so much more!
Come on Naniwa! Still cheering for you!

To everyone posting all the hate.... Please calm down. And thanks to the mods for cleaning up the truly outrageous posters. Try and put yourself in Naniwa's position. Going in super confident feeling great, and then having to deal with those stressful losses back to back. I sure as hell would have had a hard time being a good sport with that painful streak. I refusal of a handshake hardly counts as the worst BM on the record. I would have thought in light of recent events, this would have paled in comparison.
That out of the way.... Best of luck Naniwa! Some easy wins await you in challenger league. You'll be up in premier in no time

First of all, it's only 2 month of hots, with only DH being biggest tour so far. Wcs being second premiere tour, he took the second place at DH, and fallen out at RO16 WCS. And you call him most successful foreigner in hots? Geez. Vortix is like ultra polite and mannered guy, really cool and did not deserve that kind of BM live, i felt bad for him. And part about loser comming to the winner is a total bullshit. He tried to cheer him up and what he said was something like "good games", i can't imagine vortix saying any BM. Or maybe instead of handshaking he should do this: I really can't stand toxic fanboyism, not really supporting player but being destructive part of community by putting one player above others in every situation. If you support Naniwa then at least be aware how he acts, that he is one of the worst mannered player in the game. Don't forcefuly try to change his image. As you point out, the only big tournaments this far has been MLG and dreamhack, and the only foreigner doing well in any of those is Naniwa, hence he's arguably the most successful foreigner in HotS. How is that even controversial? Naniwa being BM or not is totally irrelevant in determining who's the most successful foreigner. "Toxic fanboyism", how can fanboyism ever be toxic? Almost by definition, hate is toxic, love isn't. Yes, second place at DH, dropped at RO16 WCS. Whoever wins WCS will be the best foreigner in hots obviously. Because he is out at such early stage, he can't be considered the best foreigner. And you missed my point about BM. The guy i qouted was blaming vortix like madman for low behaviour whatsoever, and i have responded accordingly. And you seem to confuse term fan with fanboy, different words, different meaning. Yes fanboyism is toxic by definition. Also from vortix twitter "thanks for the cheers but it's not the moment to flame naniwa, just feel happy for me! will try my best next game ". DAMN DAT HATE TOWARDS NANIWA, SUCH A BM CUZ HE WANTED TO HANDSHAKE AND GRATULATE FOR GOOD GAMES. OHHH I CAN FEEL THAT HATE. -.-
you have no respect to other cultures or personalities it seems, in many peoples mind, the winner trying to shake hands to the loser is bm, like rubbing in your victory to the persons face. it maybe wasn't vortix interntions but it can be seen that way, naniwa has himself done alot of stuff that has been seen as bm even tough he made it to made things interesting(like the thumbs down) and in that tweet vortix says himself that u should not flame naniwa. if u have so much damn gm then for god sake listen to the one who was in direct contact with those games-.-

Ok, I'll try answer you:

You answered your own question here "it's only 2 months of hots". What we have seen so far is NaNiwa 30-0 in two Swedish Tournaments + coming second in DH - one of the most competitive Foreign SC2 tournaments. It's actually kind of natural that people with only two months of HotS calls NaNiwa the best Foreigner.
And part about loser comming to the winner is a total bullshit.
Nope. I've experienced this first hand in Sweden myself and MorroW and a lot of Swedes says exactly the same: .
If you support Naniwa then at least be aware how he acts, that he is one of the worst mannered player in the game. Don't forcefuly try to change his image.
Here we disagree. I know Johan and yes, everyone has his flaws, but I would never call him "one of the words manner player". We here at the fanclub know pretty damn well who he is. We have followed him throughout the years and we saw NaNiwa during the last DreamHack. No-one was forcefully trying to change his image. NaNi is in control of his own image.
Hey, instead of you being negative towards him and his fans in his own fanclub he will turn you into a fan?
Edit: Typo

Meh I usually side with naniwa but refusing to shake hands. Pretty lame man. :/

Hahaha! Naniwa still dividing the community! Classic.
Calm down, chaps. Go and do something else with your day. Come back and post if you think you have something really worthwhile to say. Otherwise, forget about it. It's not important, and was never important in the first place.

what i retarded and childish is people who have no respect for others and expect humans to be perfect when it comes to emotions, learn that people are different and maybe do some self reflections and u will find horrible things u have said to other humans just based on emotions u have had in the past.

good to see the Naniwa I know and love is still here, just needs to work on preforming his best while under pressure and he'll be dominating in no time, imo theres no disrespect refusing a handshake when your clearly distraught about a loss, if anything Vortix is at fault after still trying to do it knowing that Naniwa wasn't feeling very well about his loss

Well, the thread is open for any member of the site, and it is the most natural thread to discuss the player, whether as a fan or not. What's the point of a thread where everyone has the same opinion?
As a swede, I cheer a bit more for the swedish players, and Naniwa is definately the swedish player with the most potential, imo. It's harder to be a fan on days like this when he plays terribly and acts BM, but being a bad loser is a logical result of being truly passionate and competitive. Naniwa gets upset after a loss, but he is more angry at himself than his opponent. I kinda wish he wasn't so damn inconsistent, but I guess it makes his tournament runs more exciting than watching a more stable player who is reliable enough to reach the middling tiers of any tournament but never close to winning anything.

Fuck yeah, Naniwa showing how to BM properly. Idra should take note.

u know what a fanclub is?its people that support the player, supporting someone means cheering for them no matter what, thats the point of this thread, and his inconsistent results is probably because of nervs, he has stated that 20% of his skill is usually used during a tournament, this time he was very frustrated with how he played which can be seen in a number of ways

Swedish guys over here seems kinda confused. Few things before i'm out because i'm really bored explaining things to immature kids.
1. How in the hell players from various countries should know about silly beliefs of other nations? It's INTERNATIONAL tournament, many cultures clashes, and how the F someone from Spain is supposed to know that one does not simply handshake in sweden. And let's be honest here, sweden got some really crap social rules and law, people over there are really cold and not open for others at all (i have family in SWE).
2. As i said already 999x times, it's E-SPORT, supposedly to be at high level. In every competitive sport you handshake/thank for the game. And wtf is "he lost he was sad so he didn't do it", there is always a loser and a winner. But somehow i don't see Nadal heading right away to his room without handshaking Djokovic because he lost. Another thing, if you watched any sports, you would see that players very often hug each other and thanks for the game, especially those with personal beefs. It's a man's world, not teenagers with acne that doesn't understand simple word as sportsmanship. It applies to winners and losers.
But yeah, let's add new rule to all upcomming tournaments, that you do not handshake swedes, because it's a BM lol. Let the winner sit in his chair for 10mins, waiting for enemy to decide to either gratulate each other or not.

I support Naniwa in my own way, I wanna see him win tournaments, seeing him getting 0-4ed tonight was painful, but I don't see any thread rules about not critizizing him. I welcome Naniwa opponents to post their opinions of him in this thread as long as it's not mindless hate. Naniwa is one of the most interesting characters in the scene because he has that competitve nature.

Who cares if he didn't shake hands? stop being drama queens

Holy crap....... now the haters took the opportunity to jump out of the bushes.
Stay strong NaNiwa! You know that your real fans will never turn their backs on you. <3

Spewing your hate towards a player in his own fanclub is bad, but generalizing and calling people from sweden "cold and not open for others at all" is incredibly dumb and just causes yourself to look stupid. Apart from your arguments being nonsensical, they're also off topic. If you wanna discuss handshaking in e-sports, I'd recommend you go here http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=412856#1
