Well, I have to respond to this one. In the earlier GSL's, the ultralisk was a different unit than it is now, and then it was double-nerfed. Before that Zerg just had to live through and then destroy everything with ultras. In the first GSL the ultra even was so bugged out that if you attacked a building the splash killed units in the vicinity, you could not even mine with SCVs if ultras were chopping at the townhall. How Fruitdealer's ultras ravages through the 8+ Thors in GSL is not possible anymore.

Nope, this was a bug that was introduced due to a patch supposedly to fix the ultra radius. It was fixed after like a few days. 1) It wasn't during Season 1, 2) It didn't affect any important game.
EDIT: I was wrong, I thought it was later. I still don't think it affected any game though..

It was during Season 1, and was in effect during the Fruit Dealer vs oGsTOP Kulas game.
Not saying it won him the game, but it was in effect.

i had a huge respect for Idra but not i respect him even more after today's games. In a game 2 when he got bunker'd 99.9% of ppl would never have balls to gg and move into the next game with all these money (and being deep in tournament) on the line.
Just kinda funny seeing all these koreans with terrible gg timing wasting so much time when the game is 100% over and Idra just insta throws the retarded close spawned metalopolis game without even thinking about 90k $. What a fucking boss. Total baller.

Well...I think it was beyond IdrA's capability to come back after that, but to be fair I don't think all godly zergs like Nestea (and it's true, watch S2 finals g7) are necessarily dead close positions...keep in mind it was FOXER going 2 rax scv all-in vs. nestea's 14 HATCH. Sometimes I think IdrA should devote a larger percentage of his attention to micro

seeing that 1 health marine get away hurt my brain so much.

Idra: Makes it to RO32, RO16, RO8
Next GSL you will make RO4. Congrats on improving each year and good luck keeping it up! You will win in 2 seasons im sure of it!

Proof that timing is very important in Starcraft 2.

Nuuu IdrA

Wait, is this the third time in a row that IdrA gets close spawns on metalopolis in the GSL? What has IdrA ever done to the RNG-gods? :/

Haha, I was bored in the library and wrote this...it's IdrA singing to Artosis about coming back to Zerg...will only make sense to people who like some recent A-pop
+ Show Spoiler +
Taylor Swift IdrA - You Belong With Z
I’m on the phone with Artosis; he’s upset He’s going off about a Terran rushing Ret Nobody hates that matchup like we did
I’m playing ladder, it’s a typical Tuesday night I’ve fought off all the same old strategies I don’t like They’ll never play as Terran like I would
But they get close spawns, I get an auto-loss I still play Zerg but he’s switched to Protoss Dreaming ‘bout the day when I wake up and see That I can get away with my hatch on 14
Can’t you see that I’m the one who understands you? Been one all along so why can’t you see? You belong with Z…
Checkin’ out my base, I see some ‘lots and sentries I can’t help thinking this will end with a gg Feel like flippin’ my desk, thinkin’ to myself, “Wait, that was too easy!”
I’ve got a temper that can could light up this whole place Your switching races makes me wear my CJ face You say you’re fine, but I know better than that… Hey, what ya doing with a race like that?
But they like short games; my rank’s fallin’ I like macro but they like to all-in Dreaming ‘bout the day when I really believe That all my baneling busts won’t get owned by marines
Can’t you see that I’m the one who understands you? Been one all along so why can’t you see? You belong with Z…
Lings and roaches knockin’ down a back door Fear the swarm, how could you just turn and leave You belong with Z…
Oh, I remember you messing up my name; now nobody says it right How I even force a laugh, when you’re overhyping Clide And I know your favorite builds, and you’ve told me ‘bout your dreams Think I know where you belong; think I know it’s with Z…
Can’t you see that I’m the one who understands you? Been one all along so why can’t you see? You belong with Z…
You belong with Z… Have you ever thought just maybe You belong with Z?
You belong with Z.

It is what it is guys. Somethings just aren't meant to be. Regardless were still pretty happy that he made it this far and at the end of the day, one of the foreigners had to be eliminated by each other and IdrA ended up being the one knocked out.

Actually, Jinro said that during the first attempt to cancel the rax, he cancelled the marine instead. And then rebuilt it. So it came out a good deal AFTER it was supposed to.
Admittedly, this threw Idra off, because he was expecting it sooner. But when you have nothing but your lings and drones to look at, you should still be able to catch that bastard.

Artosis said GSL has their own LT that fixed the flower bug. Anyone started the discussion about GSL also fixing Metalopolis maps to make sure Idra only gets close spawns?

If anybody finds a post-match interview somewhere, please post it asap, I'm curious to see IdrA's thoughts on the matches.

I know you're gonna be bugged for people bringing up the same thing over and over again, but I think you shouldnt have left game number 2 that early, that was quite a premature decision. On ladder it's perfectly fine to do that, but hell, it's a tournament. Game number 3; I think it was a smart decision to break down the rocks, but I feel like you should have left back a zergling to scout the marines coming much earlier. Maybe delay your spire and get more blings and roaches instead. In game number 4 you just got unlucky to not kill his marine, I liked your decision to 6pool though. Game number one was amazingly well played.. nuff said. It kind of seems stupid that I'm trying to give you advice, because you're much better than me, but I feel very, very sad for you. Well played, Jinro, I'm gonna cheer for you now till the next gsl
This is the Idra fanclub- that last sentence seems more appropriate for the Jinro fanclub. Please don't come in here and troll like that.

Jinro wasn't all-in, and that is why it was so powerful. If he had been all-in, then IdrA stopping it means he has a legitimate shot to win the game. Instead, Jinro had almost nothing committed to that and could go down any tech path in the game he wanted at that point while IdrA was stuck on 1 base and nowhere to go. Also, the patrolling drone is more about stopping a probe from walling, an scv that has a marine right behind it is going to kill any patrolling drone in a second anyway.
Am I saying IdrA should have quit the game? No, but don't pretend like he was throwing away some good chance at a comeback or it shows some glaring mental weakness on his part. Finally someone who understands why terran is so fucking broken atm. Jinro invests 2scvs and a marine, IdrA has to pull 6+ drones and lings just to hold. herp derp balance User was warned for this post Why the heck is he being warned? Admins don't like balance herp derp balance talk. This should be evident if you have visited this site for any longer period of time. It's true, though.
Those were some sad sad games, for obvious reason, which I cant mention due to restrictions. Oh, well, let's hope Idra does better next time.

Yep, even canceling and remaking the marine still defends 6 pool, and dont talk about what threw or didnt throw Idra off, you dont have insight into anyone's mind but your own.
Also one cannot kill the marine that running through scvs, that game showed quite well. It really sucks to see one single marine in a bunker defeat a push with 8 lings and 7 drones. But Idra make a right choice, ZvT on JB is basically impossible. Too bad that 2 and 3rd game didnt go Idra's way.

<3 Idra.... but
In competition, or sporting events, sometimes you need to force your opponent to finish the job. By GG'ing so early in game 2 Idra let Jinro off the hook from having to actually earn the win and overcome his nerves. You could say he was likely to lose anyways, but the fact remains that the situation was extremely high pressure and Jinro would have had to still step up and win that game.
Pressure of the moment changes things alot.... watch any sport... free throws at the end of the game, field goals from short distance, tennis pro's double faulting on match point..... it happens all the time in every form of sport.
Jinro's shown he can be affected by the pressure, but instead of having to overcome that and work to get his first win in the series, Idra just gave it to him.
Did you see the look of relief on Jinro's face when Idra gg'd out? The smart move would have been to make Jinro work hard to every scrap... give him NOTHING! Make him beat the pressure.
