I don't get the hatred against Husky and HD, they are doing their thing and they are contributing something to the community, especially newer members; in the early stages of the beta Husky's channel got me into tl and broodwar. And yes, they are biased, if you have a problem with that don't watch their content or at least stay somewhat objective when you criticize them.
Everyone who is interested in the pro-gaming community will soon get involved in communities like tl.net and see that Idra is not just a random douche bag insulting people and being bm all the time. He is one of the best foreigners (if not the best) in sc2 at this point and he just has his style.
I'm getting sick of the love him or hate him attitude that so many people have, as soon as the name husky or morrow appears in a thread people are starting a discussion what Idra possible thinks about them or what Idra said about them at some point of time (just happened again today in the Home Story Cup thread).
Personally I am very impressed with Idra's current GSL performance, he has improved a lot. He became less predictable and more aggressive. The game versus Genius was brilliant play by him, also the defense against Nada was really good play.
And yeah these days I'd rather watch Idra's stream than Husky's channel, but I still like some things Husky makes and at least show some respect
.
I don't show respect for people who neglected the "I love Starcraft!" for "I love all of my subscribers!". I did post some constructive criticism on his Youtube page wall, and guess what? They called me a troll. Do i need to respect those mindless 12 year olds too?
Nonetheless, i find it highly pathetic what Husky did in that video, there was no reason to upload that video other than gaining attention.
I highly respect IdrA, he accomplishes thinks that is impossible for some us.

Well, posting criticism on the wall of a youtube channel will probably never end in a constructive discussion, you are definitely right about that.
I respect Idra and all the other progamers as well, they work very hard to be what they are.
I think when husky started out casting he really did it for his love of SC/SC2 but now he's just in it for the subs. I unsubbed a few months ago after realising he no longer casted for sc but for himself.
Is it bad that I gave Husky's channel to some friends who are totally not into e-sport to encourage them of actually watching some SC2 matches? I figured that Husky is "hilarious" and "noob-friendly" and might actually spark interest of SC2 to my friends (One of them started watching the GSL) I know he's bias. I personally stopped watching him and sometimes I have to tell my friend not to listen to his bias, but do you know any other casters that are "noob-friendly" like him?
And I started out watching Husky and HD but I actually found IdrA awesome :D Guess I'm just weird. But after a while I got bugged by only seeing IdrA losing, since he's such a high-class player he must be winning a lot, so I started looking for other sources of IdrA matches. Found Artosis, Day[9], ... now I know what I've been missing :D
And to the one saying posting constructive criticisms on Husky's wall doesn't help. It actually got me looking for more IdrA stuffs. So...don't give up, guys

le sigh @ someone who doesnt watch gsl
If I had at least a gram of respect for Husky (unlikely) it's 100% gone now. And it's not even the first time he does this. Hell not even the fifth.
That's actually a really cool game for comparison. Now days I don't think Idra would get mutas before baneling nest if he saw that many marines and he wouldn't be as sloppy with the lings. Really cool replay to see his progression as a player.
Basically in the Husky/HD discussion, i have to say, that i agree in every point with the criticism of Husky. Nonetheless i do think, that HD is diffrent. After his unsuccessful showing at the latest MLG i have respect for the guy, cause he at least tries to be good. Husky on the other hand has given up on that.
Concerning the Idra Fanclub going on here: Don't know if this should be spoilered but i think its a shame, that he AGAIN has to play against Jinro in the Round of 8. Judging from their Game on Jungle Basin i think, that they would have made for an intresting Final.
Now, sadly i have to see one of my favorite players eliminated
On the one hand there'll be at least one foreign player in the semi finals. On the other hand there'll be at most one foreign player in the semi finals.

But if you read the interview on EG, Idra says he wants to play Jinro again I'm excited, I couldn't think of a better match up to prove himself.
What ever happened to HD? I haven't heard from him in a looong time. What happened between him and Husky, and what's this MLG stuff people are talking about concerning him?

He competed at an mlg. Didn't win a single game iirc. Don't know the answer to your other questions though.
This bring back many memories. I remember husky uploading vods of idra games during the beta, all of which happened to be him ragequiting or talking shit about his opponent, and everyone hated him for that and thought he sucked because he couldn't block cheese and allins. But now, he's the guy who everyone cheers for among the foreigners and his making huge success.
Erm... Everyone used to hate Idra? Really?
Yea, a lot of people who watched HD and Husky (myself included) got the impression that he's whiny and stubborn and inflexible as a player. So he gets pissed and rages when loses even in legitimate ways.
A lot of people - yes. Everyone - definitely not.

We can not expect everyone to be objective but you would never hear a sports commentator act like this. When you commentate, you do it for an audience, and it is incredibly unprofessional to spread biased and, generally, negative views like that. Moreover that they are obviously not supported by the majority of the other commentators... What Husky does is similar to the role the tabloid press plays. Or the discourse Fox News get involved in. It is definitely not okay to simply close your eyes for this sort of behaviour because it shapes the whole society.
Of course, we can not expect Idra not to make himself some enemies by telling people they are rubbish. I'm not sure who started the fraud between Idra and Husky (and possibly HD, I don't bother watching their casts so I'm not really sure). The first thing I remember is how they were bashing him during the HDH Invitational but it could have easily been Idra who started it. Who started it is irrelevant.
What's important is that Husky, who is supposedly a really nice guy who cares about the community (I personally think that he actually is but is also a kid that is power-tripping at the moment), is using his position for a personal vendetta. You do not hear Idra BMing Husky when Artosis interviews him in front of the biggest SC2 audience. When Idra BMs on TL.net, he is just an ordinary user, who gets banned and has to take his punishment. This is the big difference. I would definitely agree with Husky if he trash talks Idra on the forum, especially if he justifies himself. I may be a fan of Idra but this doesn't mean that he should be somehow protected from retaliations - and he is definitely not. But Husky has to do this from the position of an ordinary user, not a commentator a massive audience.

I can not stand HD as a caster but he played relatively well at MLG and won quite a few games. Anyway, this is Idra's fanclub, I'm sure there's a better place to ask about HD.

Husky is just a sellout now and there was no reason to upload a vid that was like 2 patches ago. The only reason he uploaded it is to satisfy the needs of his 'huskateers' and they will forever think of 'LOL NO GG MEANS U RAGE OLOLOLOL!'
