I can't remember, but I think this actually gets mentioned in one of the later novels. Something about how he never got around to watching the show because he was too scared of being found out or something.
The most confusing thing about the LNs, imo, was the random tiger out of nowhere.
I believe Sousuke explained the tiger once in the long stories. Though the tiger did get a pretty good short story. Sousuke somehow got his hands on this tiger, who was his comrade in war in a fashion, then tries to keep him as a pet.
That particular side story is translated, but I hadn't read it when the tiger showed up. I don't remember it being mentioned before in the long stories. =/

Actually I might have the text for most of the short stories, you won't even need to use OCR programs then!
I am pretty sure Sousuke mentioned the tiger like once in the long stories. What I am less sure about would be that whole thing with Tessa's family that came in play the last vol. Almost certain that was SS only.
People who have played BMW: Shiki has an ability called "Soul", which says "Do 2.5 times more damage for your next attack". It sounds like an even buffer version of Valor, which is just "Do twice as much damage on your next attack."
Well, thats pretty much because Love includes Valor in the attack, right? I thought there might be a chance, since they are different effects. Oh well.
7 Zoukens showing up after I blew all my energy and SP getting that Skill Point is really annoying. Any then Shirou dies because he can't dodge.
I don't remember the exact description of Love, but I do know that after you cast it in SRW OG, and look at your character, you see all the different icons for skills like Valor, Strike, Alert, etc on the character.
Shirou isn't the piece of shit he was when I first got him, but still, he doesn't dodge, and hes Shirou. Its not like hes Arc or Saber or something, IMO. Definitely not Tankiha.
He doesn't need to dodge with that brokenass passive of his, potential, and enough armor stacking. If you are all out of energy though it might be tough, he kind of relies on his SP to be able to stay around w/o support.

Looked at the SRW wiki, weird, guess I was wrong, I distinctly remember asking a friend if certain effects stacked in some older SRWs because the descriptions weren't clear but I can't find which ones caused me to wonder.
Edit: The real question is, what the fuck do I do with no SP Recov in SRWZ2?

Rider and Ciel were both free units. I didn't use Ciel since she has a penis, but my Rider is alright. Akiha was a free unit too, so I'd use her regardless haha. Shes my carry. Actually Rider wasn't a free unit, but still, shes decent.
Basically I gave up Saber/Arc/Sion for Rin/Shirou/Archer.
