I didn't expect it to be as happy go lucky, stupid but entertaining shit like K-ON at all tbh. I mean they have to make it differently, to make sure it's k-on clone in name only... But this show is just screaming tryhard to me and I already ranted about KyoAni last time when amaburi aired when they aired that one emotional episode so I'll leave it at that but there's something about how KyoAni deals with "supposed to be emotional&sad" stuff that makes me really rage about them... | ||

Okay trying one more time to explain what I mean with tryharding and melodrama when I talk about KyoAni. Everytime KyoAni has done something that involves drama recently they've gone way overboard one way or the other making it really fake and stupid. I brought up Chunibyou last time I ranted about them as the one-trick pony and them always pulling something like that off. (shitty)-KnK was the exact same thing. Amaburi with that one episode that suddenly had Sent backstory. I always find myself saying "oh coooome on..." they try that shit because to me it always feels really out of place because they're overdoing it so badly. Same with Hibike episode 3, the basic story + Show Spoiler + of the bandmembers not doing shit is decent all in itself. It's not the most exciting thing in the world but it's slice of life and it's perfectly believeable. But going all the way they did with it this way felt like a massive overkill for me. No subtlety to it at all while pushing it down our throats by emphasising on it so much. | ||

Just get a grip and talk them to the face to make clear they understand the situation instead of going to a nearby hill to play some stupid trumpet by yourself. You can't expect little kids like them to even get that by themselves It's like some KyoAni director is totally gung-ho about Drama and suddenly demands Drama out of nowhere, someone suggests plot-X, someone else goes "but you know... there's a very simple and reasonable solution to that kind of Drama that deals with everything in a second and everything will be fine, Drama destroyed. We'd have to come up with an elaborate cover up as to why the people didn't think about that like some stressful situation or whatever. Do we really have the time for that?" and the director just tells them to screw that and go with plot-X anyways resulting in some huge asspull. It's like watching School Days all over again every time KyoAni tries to do something with drama nowadays... | ||

The final solutions are just examples of what could be possible and I picked just one per node for space related reasons. There are more possible, very much reasonable solutions to every single one of them than I have fingers.
