![]() NGNL is probably more of a 8.5 but I'd rate it better than Hanamonogatari/Nisemonogatari/Neko kuro which all are on 8 for me tbh

Arise is a "reimagining" of Ghost in the Shell starting at how section 9 formed. It's not a prequel to the movies or SAC. Innocence is a direct sequel to the First movie and isn't related to SAC/SAC2/SSS. SSS is a direct sequel to SAC2. None of this is at all like F/Z to F/SN argument. These are 3 separate directors interpretations of Ghost in the Shell that are not connected. F/Z is a direct prequel to F/SN not a separate entity. The actual order is as follows: First Movie -> Innocence SAC -> SAC2 -> SSS Arise. Having prior knowledge may make certain aspects of each entity more enjoyable but that's a completely different story than saying they are connected. The only connection they share is that they are all interpretations of the original Ghost in the Shell manga. I'm not talking about story timeline, but production timeline. In a vacuum you are right, that they are not related. But since he doesn't live in a vacuum and he is watching both movies and SAC, it matters that Innocence is produced with prior knowledge of SAC, just like SAC is produced with prior knowledge of original movie. Arise can say it's a "re-imagination", but if that's the case it has a really poor imagination, because all it achieved is providing background to already established characters without being able to stand on its own. Watch Arise without any prior gits all you would find is a incoherent mess that looked grand but achieved very little, which is the same problem Innocence had. My favourite however is Hunter x Hunter 2011 by far. I wish it would be getting continued... >_< Go tell Togashi to stop being lazy then... not likely with the new Sailor Moon money

Hestia is fairly obnoxious for me. Too many emotions for me so far for people I don't really feel invested to yet. Will see how the show continues though, it's not bad but I hoped to like it more, considering I like animes of that genre usually. On the other hand: SHOKUGEKI NO SOMA AOTS EASILY! :D
