I thought a two-episdoes flash back will tell us Kiritsugu's goal in the Grail War. Instead they told us how messed up he was.
I don't know. This episode didn't go the way I thought it would (I was minorly spoiled months ago regarding Kiritsugu shooting down Natalia's plane, thus killing her). I originally thought Natalia told him to do it - but as it turned out, Kiritsugu made his own decisions, killing Natalia even though she had some confidence in getting out of the situation.
She had some confidence of getting out of the situation. But her getting out of that situation would have also involved unleashing those Ghouls upon New York, which is why Kiritsugu did what he did.

Only heretics like his daddy as far as Im aware. Except hes realised at this point that is simply not going to happen by him taking them all out by himself. He believes the Grail can give him that. I guess you could extend that to getting rid of all magi by implication but I dont think so.

Didn't notice this post earlier. Kiritsugu is a magus himself, so is Iris, so are alot of people he hasn't killed. Kiritsugu's action as a Magus Hunter wasn't indiscriminately targeting magi and killing them, only renegades who threaten disaster. I thought it was obvious from the last non-flashback episode, that Kiritusgu intends to wish for world peace (more or less). You can clearly see that war and violence of any level, not just those caused my Magus, pisses him off, from his reaction to Saber. Anyway, normally obtaining such a thing as world peace would be completely impossible, but he believes a miracle granting object like the Holy Grail has the power to make such a thing actually happen.

Uhhh, not really. Kiritsugu's goal is more along the lines of a true utopia where war and conflict never occur. That is the wish he wants the grail for. He is prepared to do whatever it takes to reach this goal, as he believes the end justifies the means. In the case of Natalia, while there was a chance that she would have made it out alive, this carried along with it the chance that she would let the zombies or w/e escape onto the mainland. As Kiritsugu always acts in favor of the greater good no matter what the cost, his course of action in this situation was clear.
Probably intentional, as in the novels, Tokiomi getting shank'd happens after the flashback. They moved it up so this would land on mother's day. Probably.

I liked Toradora. People get too caught up in saying "Yeah it's just your standard romcom, we know where this is going." To be fair, that's a fine reason why people might not want to watch, but the show isn't necessarily about the ending, but more or less the strange way that it gets there.
I thought it was pretty good. iirc, even our own die hard elitist eca liked it too, though I think he liked it for a WHOLE other reason than me.
Btw. People who watch Fate Zero from NicoNico make me cry. Commie is alright but UTW is undoubtedly the best. Tho they also release the latest. Like a day later almost
