The premise of the manga is that international diplomacy is settled on the mahjong table, with real-life politicians depicted as masters of mahjong. ...What. How did you end up finding this?

However i really dont understand some of it - whats the point of the whole black/red voice/cut thing, what is it supposed to respresent? Not one of my top anime's but definately pretty origional and interesting I know this is a little late to reply. But many scenes that switch to a blank screen are ones that shaft simply didn't get to animate in time for the airing. Nadeko snake arc is particularly bad in this respect.

Sure, it's more way more fanservice than Kampfer, but it's trash. And having Kampfer end with the way it did in episode 11 is just blah. There is effectively no resolution. I can probably see it continuing, but I'm in the minority. + Show Spoiler [Kampfer, Ep. 11] + The White Kampfer can't fight and basically got one-shot. It's a rushed episode with terrible fights. Nice transformation sequences for the hero Kampfers. As with basically all the recent episodes in the series, Shizuku wins and is probably the only reason to watch it. + Show Spoiler + The white kampfer are brand new, so of couse they aren't as strong yet. I think the will be soon, and we've seen without the strange new powerups kaede was stronger than everyone but perhaps shizuku. I thought this episode contained everything that makes me love the series and believe me, I'm not the kind of person who watches for fanservice. kampfer is definitely an awesome anime, and I dont think it should be viewed as a series that only gets by on fanservice. I think the story and fight scenes are awesome, myself.

I think the story and fight scenes are awesome, myself. I like Kampfer as well. I just wish that the story was pushed more much earlier. + Show Spoiler + You don't even know Shizuku's motivations for fighting the moderators until episode 11. And I don't particularly understand why Natsuru would tip the scales to Sakura's favor by joining her. I assume it just weakens Shizuku's side. I understand the White Kampfers were just there to fight Red and Blue, but all the fights were pretty one-sided. There wasn't much of a give and take in the fight. Initially, Red and Blue owned White. Then, Kaede owned them. Lastly, that power boost that disintegrated some of their clothes had Shizuku, Mikoto, and Akane own Sakura and the White Kampfers. I'm just saying that they weren't really fights, but basically one side sodomizing the other. And that's why I thought that it felt rushed. Maybe if they just abandoned the Christmas episode and do episode 11 in two episodes, it would feel less rushed. One other thing, if the ending with Natsuru kissing/feeling up Shizuku, Mikoto, and Akane isn't enough to get him off of Sakura, then I don't know what will. Any of them is better than Sakura IMO. Pick any of them, please. I would like to see it continue, but others in this thread doubt there is a future for it. If it ends with episode 11, then that just leaves too many unanswered questions. And I seriously doubt that the Christmas special episode will answer anything. Also, needs more Shizuku. <3

It's entertaining, I'll give it that much. The series is marginally better than GX. Marginally better? 5Ds is way better than original Yugioh, and Yugioh way better than GX. GX was alright for maybe one season. The current season of 5Ds is disappointing, but the Dark Signers arc was the single greatest season in Yugioh Yugioh on motorcycles is honestly my second favourite anime this season, favourite being Cross Game, but again, it's been disappointing for the last 20 odd episodes after how amazingly it started I haven't been watching that many series, but I haven't really seen anything that's blown me away

And I like Duel Monsters a lot. Despite my initial reactions to a children's card game on bikes, it's a pretty entertaining series. It even has skateboard duels. I like the addition of Synchro summons and Speed spells. It's bringing new life into the series, which I thought went stale because of GX. I don't like Crow. Jack is okay...he's just too much of a Kaiba clone. The current season of 5D's was good until they just interrupted it with all this Kiryu stuff. I didn't like his character much going back to the Dark Signers arc. He better have some relevance when they get back to the WRGP arc otherwise this is just a waste of time. If they wanted to do this Kiryu arc, why not do it before starting this arc? I never finished GX or I just skipped to the end. Jaden/Judai has probably the worst deck of the main protagonist in each series. Supporting cast, enemies, story were all pretty bad for GX.

As for Jaden having the worst deck, I don't know. I know Yugi is the king of games and story-wise has the best deck and skills in the world, but I didn't like how his deck randomly changes themes. Like, sometimes he'll use the magnet warriors, sometimes Jack/Queen/King knights, and then randomly throw in Dark Magician or the god cards in there. I know that they want him to keep using new strategies to make his deck more interesting, but I would have liked it more if he just used new cards while sticking to one theme. Like what Jaden does for the most part. E-hero fusion theme, and he randomly pulls out new E-heroes. He gets a second deck theme later in the series, but his strategy remains focused around those two specific themes (and even those two themes are fusion heavy themes) rather than Yugi's deck that just seems to jump around and have no real theme. That and Dark Magician is just a blah card.

I still think the 10th anniversary movie they are making is horrid, though. =/

Until you realize that getting the collection has required you wasting your money on pieces of recycled cardboard, and that the guys are releasing cards faster than you can get more money to add to your collection. Sigh. I wonder how much money I wasted on that crap when I was younger... Finally watched Summer Wars. Great movie. Not as good as TGWLTT in my opinion, but damn close. I'd give it a 8.5/10. I would give it a 9, but I went back and looked at Hosoda's earlier works and realized that Digimon Wars was done by the same guy, and it had the exact same vibe. Not only that, but he more or less stole ideas from a bunch of other similar movies. I expected better than that... Still, I can't find fault in any other aspects of the movie, so 8.5 it is.

As much as there may be inconsistencies in Yugi's deck, I got tired of E-heroes very quickly. Contact Fusion was cool the first two or three times I saw it, but Jaden had so many Neo-Spacians to fuse with Elemental Hero Neos. Just about everything in his deck could fuse with Neos. I think most of his duels towards the end always led to Neos. To me, it felt like which fusion will win it for him today. Before it got that far, I passively watched random episodes of GX starting with the Yubel arc. I just didn't find it very compelling. The 10th anniversary movie is just fanservice. It may look bad, but it can't possibly be worse than Yu-Gi-Oh! the Movie.
