Im a bit curious to see what happens to the people he extracts the weapons from, side effects etc. Also it did seem like the pilots remote controlling the mechs suffered damage, I dont imagine it would be fatal either but it should be interesting to see how certain forms of damage that may not affect the mechs abilities could hurt the pilot more and make it less useful.

It would be pretty pointless to have remote controlled mechs like that, that still kill the pilots matrix style when they blow up. If they are going to die anyway, have the pilot inside the mech, and get rid of the long distance remote control technology that would obviously wouldn't be needed.
Mechs in GC also have an ESC system like FMP, so thats cool.
ANN advertising Guilty Crown is funny. "From the director of DEATH NOTE and HIGHSCHOOL OF THE DEAD, comes GUILTY CROWN!" Way to inspire confidence, ANN.

The scientists obviously knows what they are dealing with: as if the test tube thing is leaked out on purpose for experiments.
Just like other "bond of hearts" powered weapons, the strength is potentially unlimited but some point down the road we will see the prota lose control/have power weakened as his resolve wobbles.

Did you read the manga already or something? iirc that started running earlier

I didnt say they would be fatal but iirc the chick controlling the mech for the underground did feel it when the mech took damage, the pilot atleast getting hurt in some from changes the dynamic significantly, it limits how much they can push it and doesnt make remote controlling it as rosy as it sounds.

I doubt the pilot actually dies, but I think that it would be reasonable to assume that a pilot could get hurt inside their control room if the mechs are controlled through nerve signals or motion sensors from the pilot.

-Not in space -No mecha -Takes place during modern era (or at least, modern or more advanced) -Guns and tanks and shit preferred
So far I have:

I'm open to any suggestions.
...uh... Yukikaze? It's about planes not mechas, not in space to my knowledge, though I haven't actually seen it yet, I just have friends who talk about it.
Wow. The music is good, and the animation isn't bad, either. I'm not a huge fan of futuristic shows, but this was pretty sweet. I don't get why the characters all have to be so young, though. It seems like every 17 year old saves the world nowadays >.<
The idea of extracting weapons from friends is interesting. I'm wondering what the uses and limits are. Hopefully not something ridiculous.
Is Persona 4 worth picking up? I don't want to start watching anything else for fear of wasting too much time >.<

You probably shouldn't bother if you haven't played the game, if you have it might be worth checking out as you can appreciate the nice little things that carried over from the game.
Based on first episode not a must see for non-Persona fans, and fans already know the story so it's a hit or miss for them as well.

I love how they put in j rock music. So cool, not something you hear all the time.

The benefit of remote controlled mechs lies in the fact that you can now do a bunch of cool stuff with the extra space you've vacated. A lighter frame and higher maneuverability, for instance. Input lag would be higher, but it shouldn't be too much of an issue if you're operating at reasonable ranges. You could even try to adjust for the lag by buffering moves, Takeru-style.
Protecting the pilot would be ideal, but it seems they can't for plot inexplicable reasons.
