Its probably not the case, but the way he is written, he seems like a guy who cares about nothing but swordplay and that is all there is to his character. I actually think that's actually the case. Which means if anything expands on that character it'll be insane.

I skip shit like that because its just time wasted on sub-characters who are soon forgotten, there is no point to them, its just filler ![]() EDIT: Luffy just pulled an octopus from his crotch ROFL. I love one piece you...you are lost. May god have mercy on your soul. by that logic you can just skip all the arcs because every character is a sub character who is forgotten after its' arc. The flashback is what makes Skypiea the 1# most romantic moment in One Piece, and about as epic as it gets in media

I personally hope that we get to know more about Mihawk, as it stands now we really dosnt know to much about him, hes a great swordsman... mkay All we know about him is that he's not a bad guy (didn't kill Zoro twice already) and that he's insanely powerful. The mystery behind him and his style is what makes him more popular than Doflamingo/Kuma/Crocodile. If we knew everything about him he'd be less interesting, but Oda knows how to drive popularity.

If we knew everything about him he'd be less interesting, but Oda knows how to drive popularity. how interesting can his past really be? he most likely spent most of his life training his swordplay and duelling great swordmen. compare that to the complete enigma of doflamingo, kumas past as a revolutionary leader but paradoxal volounteer to become a robot slave for the world government (but dragon hints that there is an explanation). Mihawk was mysterious and intriguing at first but when zoro visited him and i saw the sword-monkeys and his ugly hairstyle (he should not take his hat off) as well as mihawk showing a completly different side of his personality (being rude, unserious and less articulate, and mihawk should never ever laugh, especially noy with his eyes closed. his serious death stare and cold, mannered but slightly arrogant behavior is what makes the character cool in the first place. Doflamingo has the most interesting and well written personality imo. like a true sociopath, he is sadistic and ruthless, yet oddly charismatic and charming. He does horrible things to people but you cant help but enjoy how he takes absolute pleasure in literary anything as long as it involves death or chaos. His past is also a complete mystery and appears to have a significant importance to the pirate alliance saga. Though Some aspects of his personality are obviously inspired by the Joker from the Batman comics and i think his underworld alias is a direct homage from odas part.

His chemistry with Luffy in particular is great, when luffy goes off into one of his wierd obsessions or shows extreme blatant stupidity and zoro loses his temper, flips out and almost turns into a demon out of sheer rage (his eyes turning white and teeth sharp, as oda draws him when he is angry) i almost always get a good laugh.

Btw sc2holar, what you described Doflamingo as (the chaos loving madman, which I agree with) made me realize that "Joker" is the perfect nickname for him.

Anyway. You heard it here first! If there's ever a romantic relationship in One Piece, it'll be between Nami and Usopp.
