http://www.mangareader.net/103-35241-12/one-piece/chapter-560.html Crocodile lands next to Doflamingo who seems a bit surprised, then when Jozu goes in to hit him again Doflamingo does his string thing, stops him and jumps on Jozu's back. That and Jozu shouting his attack name. Would be weird as fuck if he was being controlled by Doflamingo and still doing that.

Hes just a swordsman (although the worlds finest), and does not qualify to be one of the 7 pirate warlords. Might be quite simple really, he did not follow the law and have a ship = pirate. but he dosnt have a crew like the other pirate lords. We know the real reason hes in the universe is to be a rival to Zorro

We know the real reason hes in the universe is to be a rival to Zorro i guess youre right. my main issue with mihawk is that hes just so boring, yet has sooo many fanboys. Look at Doflamingo, that guy is the king of a land in the new world, is producing and selling artificial devil fruits to a yonkou, has connections in the top-world government (above fleet admiral sengoku) is the biggest underworld broker in the world and has a very enigmatic past (he might be of noble or even celestial dragon blood). now that is an interesting character. Crocodile also tried to pull his baroque scheme in alabasta, hancock climbed from slave to pirate empress and moriah tried to raise a zombie army. Kuma was a revolutionary leader who volountereed for the pacifista project for enigmatic reasons yet to be revealed. Mihawk Trains monkeys and waves around a big sword. yet he constantly gets voted favourite shichibukai because 12 year olds like guys with big swords who look like vampires...

I agree that hes character is abit boring. I personally hope that we get to know more about Mihawk, as it stands now we really dosnt know to much about him, hes a great swordsman... mkay

Everything you say is true but don't forget that you also no nothing of his past.. what if he was a marine? What if he was a captain and had a crew? what if he was on someone else's crew? there's so many what if's about him that he might be one of the most enigmatic guy on one piece, besides Dragon! All we know is: he is best swordsman of the world for some years now practiced/fought with shanks to a "equal" footing Does wtf he wants Strong will and understanding of the OP world Lives in the New world with perona and the monkeys

Kuma was a revolutionary leader who volountereed for the pacifista project for enigmatic reasons yet to be revealed. Mihawk Trains monkeys and waves around a big sword. I think its more like Mihawk goes around the world dueling strong swordsman, which most of them would be pirates, and even when he isnt dueling strong opponents he just takes out pirates for fun due to boredom. This is a great help to the Marines and WG since he is basically a one man army taking out rookie pirates as well as strong opponents. I think this is why he is a pirate lord. Think about how his character was introduced, he was just randomly going around the east sea, and took out don Creek's ships and crews. This was supposed to be the second most powerful pirate in the east sea. We also know he dueled with shanks and even though he didn't take him out, he still tried because he likes to fight powerful opponents. Now he probably dueled with other strong people and won and even if this isn't true there are people who want to take his head in order to proof that they are the best swordsman. In the marine headquarters war there was two swordsmans who were pirates of the new world went to challenge him when luffy was fighting him and they got cut down. So not only does he take out people who he wants to duel, but also pirates who come and challenge him. Seems to me like he does a lot of work, and takes out a lot of people he just does it out of screen. I dont think he just sits at his castle, just seems like he goes there when he wants to rest.

Its probably not the case, but the way he is written, he seems like a guy who cares about nothing but swordplay and that is all there is to his character.

Nothing wrong with that, he makes a great rival for Zoro, but again im annoyed by the amount of 12 year olds who circlejerk around mihawk AMVs ![]()
