It's not in the books. It's used to imply something that would be hard to show on TV otherwise. It also sets the stage for an important occurance later on in the series

In any event, I thought it was a good episode. Nice to see the series starting to pick up.

I feel the exact opposite. Starting to get more trashy by the second. More rawcous nudity and lewdness, boring fighting scenes, less intrigue. Winding a slow path down to the oblivion of retardation that is Spartacus. I'll still stick with it, in the hope that it can retain some class before going full blown fantasy nerd pulp.

Less intrigue? Did you not pick up on all that was going on?

Can anyone toss me gif of mountain owning his horse?

As evil as he is The Mountain is one bad dude.

I'm kind of shocked that there are people who read the books and didn't pick up on Loras and Renly being lovers. I never pictured Renly as being such a sissy though.
It bugs me a bit that they can't have two characters talk without delving into some exposition on their family heritage or some piece of recent history. I think Theon has had the exact same conversation about the Greyjoys with Jaime, Tyrion, and a whore now. I guess they have to do it on some level. Fortunately this episode wasn't nearly as bad about it as others have been

WHAT AN EPISODE! Really great action this week. Bronn is a killing machine!
The season is shifting into high gear. Yesssssss.

Really good episode, I was starting to lose faith, but that episode returned it. There was really only 1 action scene, but you finally starting to see all the storylines tie togethor and become one big shitstorm

There's a difference between implication, which leaves room for interpretation and discussion, and a blowjob, which is hardly subtle. They easily could have used hints to imply a relationship without, you know... the blowjob part. People aren't THAT stupid.

The Cersei - Robert conversation is probably my favourite piece from this series so far.

We were even watching the same episode? Not enough intrigue? There was Petyr Baelish having the intrigue pissing contest with Varys, Illyrio and Varys being overheard by Arya, Loras telling Renly he should be king, Robert clashing with Ned, and the whole Tyrion situation setting off a shitstorm. This episode had intrigue up the whazoo.

About Loras and Renly. + Show Spoiler +Um, the book implies that Renly and Loras are probably gay. But there isn't anything at all in there about them being a couple. Not even close. It's not in the books. At all. And anyway, it was much better when it was just implied. I understand some things have to be made more explicit as a necessity of adaptations, but this was the biggest blunder of the series so far. Totally stupid.

that was one of the best hours of television I have ever seen
holy fuck what an episode
|
|
holy jesus that episode was the shit!!!!! like seriously!!!!
|
+ Show Spoiler +Renly and Loras being gay with each other, while not explicitly stated in the books, does make an awful lot of sense... Renly's wife was described as being good-looking, yet she was still a virgin when she married Joffery... Renly being gay explains that nicely.

WHOA... That was a pretty damn insane episode.
