The show is coming along nicely.
As for brans character: + Show Spoiler +I'm glad they finally introduced the three eyed crow. I was kind of worried since they pretty much blew over it the past 2 episodes. Especially since it is such an important part of his badassness in the later books

wow I'm so getting that game if nothing else because the show is so good
the campaign could be really cool as a prequel

The game of thrones board game with the Clash of Kings Expansion is the most fun I've had with any board game. It allows up to 6 players and is tons of fun. There is even a 9 player version out there if you have more people. So much backstabbing/alliances/strategy. Definitely the best board game I've ever played.
It is a bit complicated, but once everyone knows the rules, shit really becomes awesome.

Yeah only problem is the base board game and it's expansions are out of print at the moment, but I suspect they will do another printing in the next few months.
Battle of Westeros is 2 player, the card game is 2-6 players with expansions, but 2-4 with just the base set. The card game is similar to Magic in that once you learn the base game you can buy more cards and build your own deck, but not as expensive because expansions and monthly booster packs come with fixed cards so no wondering what is going to come in the pack before you buy it. Fantasy Flight Games is the publisher. Coolstuffinc.com is a cheap place to order in the US online as is Miniaturemarket.com.

Back to the show, we saw Bronn briefly in the inn last episode, he was the guy who gave up his room for the coin from Tyrion. Looking forward to some awesome scenes from him in the near future.

I'm a longtime fan of books. Unfortunately I was not really happy with the first episode. Production value was quite high, and Eddard is great. The king and Bran and Arya were good too, and Cersei might just be the best actress on the show. But Jaime was awful. Lady Stark was meh. And worst of all, my favorite character (Tyrion) was too cheery. In the books I always found him too bitter/cynical/devious, but he just seems a little too well adjusted in the show.
There were too many moments of cheese for me to get into it (the generic medieval music played during the feast made me facepalm), all of the kal-drogo stuff, but the story is awesome (obviously...). I'm hoping this is just the typical bad pilot that turns into a great series.
Jaime's character really begins to look a lot better as the episodes go on. Tyrion gets better too, although personally I thought he was great in episode one. Catelyn is Catelyn, I don't think you could expect much for that character. I'm surprised by all the hate on Tyrion, I feel he dominates the scenes he is in and the actor is fantastic. Reading book one as the eps come out, very cool the amount of lines that are pulled directly from the book. My only complaint about Ep 4 was that I feel like 1 minute too long was spent on the bath scene, and it didn't seem to have a critical role. Damn right, Tyrion is not only the best character, a real breath of fresh air, he is also acted by one of the strongest actors in the show. Great episode, . I hear a lot of people saying 'there are no good/bad people in AGOT' but I'm finding it hard not to see the Starks as good, I mean at least they are straightforward. Well that was a misleading statement. The correct one is that there are no pure good or pure evil characters in the book. With Starks Ned and Jon is the closest you get to Gandalf or Aragorn and Joffrey or the Mountain is the closest you get to Sauron.

I just browsed through the funny pictures thread and thought I share:

oh well, I guess that thrusting a wooden stake through someone's neck counts as nothing. Or Jon setting up himself a good bunch of followers. Or trowing some light on the fact that King Robert has a bastard son working as blacksmith.
and the best fact there. Let me tell you a joke: *A midget walks into a bar. And the bartender says, we don`t even have half-a-room empty...Fill up the blanks.*

next episode and the one after is when things really get interesting, from what the critics say and what will occur. most of the exposition is over with now
Also for all the San/San fans who were upset that the Hound's story wasn't told by the Hound himself like in the books, well this is what one of the guys at Winteriscoming had to say, and it makes sense. Note he's quoting various twitter reactions to that scene:
As soon as he launched into his tale of “The Mountain and the Hound,” I knew we were in for a shit storm of biblical proportions. San/Sans in for the kill! #HOUNDGATE @silkskinned: LITTLEFINGER THAT IS NOT YOUR STORY TO TELL @Stefichan: THIS IS SANDOR’S STORY TO TELL WTF @pokertrace: wtf why is littlefinger telling sansa this story?? HATE. > @vcav: What the fuck I’m so pissed they changed that scene from the book sansa is supposed to hear that story from the hound ugh @jennnmarshall: Aww, I was looking forward to the Hound telling Sansa that story. Littlefinger’s creepiness factor is A+, tho. @Allahschild: Always thought jousts were insane. Loved Littlefinger/Carcetti’s story about the Hound. @mherr1979: Yeah, Littlefinger and Sansa…creepy as fuck @queenofcrows: Ew, creepy creeper is creepin’. GTFO Littlefinger! @nnaysayer: #GameOfThrones was great tonight as usual. Casting is pretty spot-on, Littlefinger whispering to Sansa was creeper perfection. I think it should finally be clear to nearly everyone that the writers—and Rory McCann—are playing a much more subtle, withdrawn, angry-inside character. And in defense of it … (Not that I think they need it) … Look, I love GRRM’s version of the Hound; he’s insolent, angry at everything, and more than a little emo when drunk. And it works because there are no other characters like that. He’s unique. However, what works in the book I don’t believe would work onscreen. The impression of time’s passage feels different. You can’t build a badass and then break him down in the fourth episode. Half the time we see him in the first two books, he’s A. drunk off his ass, and B. rambling at Sansa as though she were his psychiatrist. Were I writing it, I would invent a different scene rather than the one where he drunkenly escorts her across the field, stops halfway, and then spills his guts to her. Hell, I wrote the book version in my script outline and it felt wrong. Like we were rushing in to the Hound, getting into his mind too fast. I argue you can’t go there yet. Not all the way. I want a darker, more mysterious Hound. I think the Hound will clearly have an affinity to Sansa, as evidenced by their encounter outside the inn in episode two. And you can’t go the fast route with an older Hound, as played by McCann. He would seem extremely immature, and I truly believe him spilling his guts so early in the series would hurt the character’s believability. It’s a slower burn, but I still think it’s a burn. It’s sort of the same thing they’re doing with Cersei, making her more subtle. Really, the only out-and-out loony, emotional characters are Viserys and Joffrey. And I love the Hound too much to see him go that route. Patience.

Just saw episode 4, loved it as I did the previous 3 (I'm currently nearly done reading Clash of Kings), the only thing that irked me was Hodor, for some reason I pictured him completely different (not a tall fat bearded man, but a stocky tall giant with a mild Quasimodo-ish face and quality).
