Seems a bit lame to have a careful guy like Dexter talk to his son about his kills. It was one thing when he was a newborn but now he can speak... not a fan of that. At least they touched on it at the end, but I'm sure it's not the end of that storyline.
"Debra Quinn, your initials will be DQ like..." "I swear I will kill you." Ahah
I seriously went WTF when Dexter backed up in a wall. Didn't quite get it that he wanted to stalk his victim. It made sense a second later but as it happened it was a serious "Huh?" moment.
The killers this season are pretty fucking messed up, loving it. Just the way they get victims in the open like that.
Don't care much about the drama with Deb, Batista, etc. Just getting used by Matthews for her popularity due to the incident and fucking up her relationships with everyone else... about as expected.
Overall another pretty good episode. Season 6 is already better than Season 5.
I found the episode not very interesting at the start. The whole Deb drama didn't appeal to me and Colin Hanks' character isn't that appealing for now. As it got closer to the end of the episode however, the storyline became very engaging. I like Dexter's new best friend.
I dunno about Dexter ... season 1 was awesome ... I didnt really like the last 2 seasons ... sure they had their moments but they felt too much like ham dram relationship dramas in a series abotu a fucking sociopath - the one place i thought i was safe from emo bs.
Lets face it the world invented porn for a good reason.
This season could be good but its just gonn abe an exploratino of religion ... another great fun topic that i dont get an earful of every day ... oh wait hang on.
Carnac, I have been a fan of dexter every season. recently, i just started watching Breaking Bad. if you guys have not watched it, the writing i believe is superior to Dexter and I dont watch much tv. Breaking Bad is one of the best shows on TV. Check it out if you havent.
Br Ba is way better than I thought it would be, but I find it oddly depressing. I appreciate the show, but Dexter has a notably different tone (actually more lighthearted IMO) and I find Dexter more enjoyable. Basically, I can marathon Dexter and enjoy it, but after a couple episodes of Br Ba, I need to like, go look at pictures of puppies for a couple hours to brighten my mood, lol.
Deb doesn't work as an LT for me. I get the whole, Matthews wants someone who's loyal to him and not LaGuerta in charge of homicide, but it's just silly to have someone so unstable and foul-mouthed in LaGuerta's old position. Eh, I dunno, I feel like they need to change the Deb character a lot to have her grow into that job, and honestly I don't want that for the character. We'll see.
I'm wondering how deep they'll let Mos Def get into Dexter's life. Personally, I don't think they're going to let him get as far as Migel and Lumen got and I think they'll just write him as a friend to Dexter who helps Dexter relate to religion via the Good Sheppard angle and then maybe have him killed off by the Big Bad(s). Without him, religion seems to be something distant to Dexter, something he wants his son to learn about but not something he can actually relate to. Brother Sam seems to be a way to get Dexter to reconcile his actions with a higher power. One way or another, I'm interested in where they're going with the character and I love Mos Def, so I am excite.
And uhg, I get they want a sex symbol in the office with Ryan, but it just seems a bit over the top to have her prancing around Masuka's lab in an outfit like that. Whatever.

Isn't the whole idea of blackmailing that when the other guy doesn't do what you want you release it?
In the first episode Laguerta handed the evidence over after he promised to promote Batista to Leutenant. Laguerta obviously sucks at blackmailing
What i don't like is that all the characters that are touching up on the religion are really cliche thus far. What i like is that i loved the way Mos Def plays his. Maybe because they usually cast someone like Ving Rhames in a role like that- a big black guy with deep voice. On a slightly related note i'm sure a lot of you watch colbert report but for those who don't MosDef was there recently with his new/old "band" black star promoting a new single which i thought was amazing. (song starts 5 minutes in)
It seems like they are actually going to develop the character of the villain this season. Unlike last season where as soon as the guy started to get interesting in the last couple episodes they killed him.

Mos Def was great in this episode, I really want to see what kind of relationship his character will have with Dexter. Other that that, I think it was kind of a letdown from the first episode. I really don't care about the LaGuerta/Angel/Deb/Quinn drama.
but yea, I think they kinda tied that drama up. I'm sure it'll persist to an extent, but they made a lot of headway in resolving all that drama in that episode so that it can just be an undertone for the rest of the season (I hope).

or how he tied no body case to a random thug.
The guy admitted it when he was pointing his gun at them.
