I have to say that the fighting scene on the deck is fucking impressive and this is coming from someone who isn't in that kind of movie. There is bad acting sometimes. There are failed attempt at humor. I saw some plot holes. Don't expect character development. All this doesn't help the fight scenes but those are good enough to stand on their own. Thankfully, Pacific Rim won't give you forced drama, awkward patriotism or rehashing family values at an inappropriate moment. The movie doesn't hide what it is and never tries to be something else. Guillermo del toro is having fun with the stuff he likes and you're welcome to join. It felt honest. Which is why I put Pacific Rim higher than World War Z + Show Spoiler + and I'm a zombie genre fan.

I was sad that the monster ate him, but I stayed til after the credits and it shows him breaking out with his gold butterfly knife and asking where his goddamn shoe was. i was so happy he was alive! Furyherhgymoeir,re, I think it was cool that they did show the black market of kaujui parts cuz it makes sense that people would have harvest them and do shady things with them, it was cool seeing the realisim about that.

I normally don't take time responding to peons, but I guess I can make an exception. Movie was SO FAKE and scientifically inaccurate that I couldn't even pretend to enjoy it. It'll have to take more than terrible acting, an atrocious story, and an unrealistic premise to impress me, I found it really hard to care. In fact, I don't. Awful movies like this panders to the lowest common denominator of bottom-rung feeders who gobble up this garbage like fat people and their twinkies. I pity you inferior beings who keep enjoying the dregs you do, you and your fellow cesspool will never amount to anything more than a genetic cul-de-sac, and you should feel bad. Bask in my eminence and just accept the fact I'm better than all of you. + Show Spoiler + OH GOD WHY IS MY BALLS BIGGER THAN KAIJUS' User was warned for this post

The action was pretty meh, sure it had good scenes but the fighting was pretty repetitive imo. Id pick transformers anyday. At least transformers had better eye candy, cool transformations and the action was much cooler and better paced. But Pacific Rim was still a pretty good movie but I was a bit dissapointed. I haven't even seen this movie and I know that's just wrong. Transformers is one of the worst things ever made.

everything else was beyond atrocious, to the point where i considered leaving the cinema during the first half even though i was there with friends. you have an obviously high budget considering the CGI but you can't get more than one decent actor? (the commander dude was pretty good). i didn't expect much at all from the story, but it at least shouldn't have made me hate every single character except for the black market crime druglord or whatever he was. and it also shouldn't make my brain explode from the stupidity they expect from the viewers. "they all have the same DNA but they all look different". wut? "they are all clones!" five minutes later "she's pregnant" hurr durr. then the stupidly annoying 'scientists' plug themselves into the brain of a newborn baby and it has full knowledge and memory of the entire plan of the alien "master race". makes sense.

It was all extremely slow, no tension, simply boring and too few of them for the length of the film :/. Considering SF in 2013 so far, it wasn't as bad as After Earth, Oblivion or Star Trek Into Darkness but I had a lot more fun watching Iron Man 3 or Man of Steel. I don't think we saw the same movie...
