But it got me in the mood to watch some videos on my other favorite story in the show, Ice King & Marcilene and I think I might've found something. I think Betty (Ice King's (Simon's)) girlfriend before he went crazy is actually somehow Princess Bubblegum. From the flashbacks we know Betty has somewhat pinker skin than anyone else, she's seen wearing a turtle neck and a lab coat and glasses (same outfits as Bubblegum). Suggesting she is a scientist to an extent. Simon refers to Betty as his "Princess" and the Ice King is obsessed with capturing Princesses. Also gives a reason as to why Ice King is more pre-occupied with Bubblegum than any other Princess. So there's my theory. Somehow during the Great Mushroom War, Betty, after breaking up with the Ice King, somehow got mutated into some bubblegum form in order to survive and rebuild civilization and to survive. She lost part of her memory in the process and doesn't remember the Ice King. Or does she and is just keeping it secret. All we know about her past is that she is several thousand years old and she was keeping that hidden.

I have to get back into this show. I watched the whole thing up to the current point this summer but kind of forgot about it as I was catching up on Futurama. It sounds like the recent episodes have been fairly interesting. The last one I saw was "Too Old" but then they had a small gap before the next episode so I kind of forgot to keep watching >.> Also, I guess I should move this into Media & Entertainment under the new forum divisions so I'm going to go ahead and do that.

I'll say it again Princess Bubblegum is actually the Ice King's girlfriend who left him once the crown made him crazy.

First off; the animation is unique. Simple, but unique. But they are very creative with the simplicity and put the focus on the right places. They have alot of different storylines that, albeit not always coming together as smoothly, can be very complex and have alot of depth drawn from the contemporary and historical, while also blending scientific ideas with creative ones that haven't been paralleled (I-M-O) Oh have I menioned all the different philosophies and life lessons some of these episodes teach? I mean, it's as much a kid's show as it's an adult's show because it's very, very layered. I mean, this does kind of seem like a fanboy rant, but I don't think I can say one bad thing abou this show. Maybe one bad thing is hat the 6th season has been a little bit less of what I've come to expect of one of my favourite animated series, but I'm confident they'll throw in some good stuff (I mean they still got like 30 (15 if you count two 11 minute as one) episodes to go.. Maybe I can try to get some stuff going here again. Do you guys think the entire Lemongrab arc has been finished? Also, the Ice King arc seems to become more and more interesting as the show progresses. I feel like more and more he's the crutch that holds the entire story together, maybe even the main theme.

Last episode raised more questions than it answered. Jake has a brother? And Jake is possibly a clone/baby thing from a "creature of the night" bad creature that can apparently warp time & space. Who knows what he is now... And what happened to the mother, she obviously died prematurely, or abandoned him.

Well since there have been flashbacks of Jake's mom raising him with utmost care I really don't know what to expect. Maybe she got snatched by one of those zombie dudes or she just couldn't handle Joshua's monster fighting passion when she just wanted to raise her children. Maybe she took off with the son whom hath no powers. I guess they'll reveal it in time. Also, I really like your theory on Betty being Bubblegum. Since if it were true it also poses a whole new set of problems since past Betty is in the Land Of Ooo. Also, I'm really sad Prismo and everything around that are gone, it was really cool seeing Finn & Jake transcending from regular world into a multiverse. Chillin with Cosmic Owl in a bubblebath oh man.

I always wondered if Ice King's demented love/hate relationship with the princesses has something to do with his past and the rise of princess bubblegum.

It was a Grabyles episode, the weird guy giving us short stories and we are supposed to guess the random theme. This one was quite different though.Apparently he's in a spaceship, he made some people angry and they almost blew up his ship so he had to evacuate. He landed on Ooo and is trying to find a way off the planet and back to his ship. Here's where it gets weird. This Ooo is VASTLY in the future. Treehouse is gone with no signs of anyone or anything. Marceline's house seems exactly the same and someone is still living inside it, but we don't know who. Logic says she's still there, she is immortal afterall. Princess bubblegum has gone full crazymode and built a moving city inside a giant gumball machine guard and is living inside her castle presumably. But all the residents are in some kind of hypersleep inside human size prize balls. The Ice King's mountain has almost tipped over and he's become a gigantic flying monster that looks like a giant mustache that attacks anyone who gets near. All the stories Cuber has been telling us are all memories from the past and Finn/Jake/B-mo are no where to be found in this future.

Also we learned the origin of Gunther and where he came from. SPOILER: + Show Spoiler + Apparently he's an immortal planet destroying monster who tried harnessing the power of a cosmic comet. Gob defeated him and he was thrown to earth and compressed into a penguin where he got amnesia and lost all his powers... Amazing they had this all planned all along, ever since Marceline's dad said he was the most evil being he's ever come across. Thought that was weird.

The story linking magic man to mars was in an excellent episode called sons of mars: http://www.watchcartoononline.com/adventure-time-season-4-episode-8a-sons-of-mars Betty looks like she might turn into a crazy bad guy. That week of episodes was absolutely awesome. They somehow manage to keep bringing more story elements without overcomplicating things or making it stupid. + Show Spoiler + The scene at the end of the final episode was incredible with the catalyst comet talking to Finn. Massively symbolic, buddhism style stuff going on there where Finn has to choose whether or not to reject the universe and ascend to a higher plane :O

I think what they're trying to show with these episodes (or maybe the show in general) is that it's easy to lose control of the situation and that you just have to roll with the punches sometimes, no matter how scary that seems.
