mike will get out, frank will get angry because mike leaves prison first and will try to pull some shit as he so confidently stated he could, harvey and mike will screw frank and keep him in prison and the season will end. Yeah, it's wishful thinking that Suits will go back to being that perfect mix of 70% serious and 30% comedy. It's back to back with Mr Robot, after all. Suits is getting noticeably darker in theme and quite literally in the lighting. It's not as dark as Mr Robot, where people work in offices with no lights, but it's getting there. In fact, I think Mike's jail cell is darker than Eliot's and PSL's offices have less light than E Corp's, although the lawyers at PSL are often shown working at night.
At this point, I don't think Suits can go back to corporate mergers and negotiating for sports stars. It's just too small ball in comparison to fighting to save a guy from death row and saving the firm from annihilation.

I kind of like the evolution of the show. Yes, I loved the first seasons when it was all fun and giggles, but by this time it probably would have lost a lot of its magic. Whereas now we know these characters and we love (most of) them, so them being more involved in the story instead of being bystander lawyers to insignificant cases is a nice development.
I think one of the pitfalls of this kind of shows is to stay episodic forever. I just don't care about it anymore if events only matter for 3 episodes and are mostly forgotten afterwards for half a dozen seasons.

Why are you posting Mr Robot spoilers in a fucking Suits thread.

So everyone's out and safe and perfect... Except Robert Zane and other people learned about the whole bullshit situation so the firm might be screwed?
Honestly, the only thing I care about right now is finding a way for Harvey and Mike to (honestly) practice law and kick ass together.
|
Oh, how I would've loved for Zane to meet Mike in prison. Of all the people at PSL, he has to have a white hot fury against Mike. Not only is he a fraud who ruined his daughter's firm, he humiliated her by leaving her at the alter and now he's walking around with a criminal record, the kind of record that precludes him from any kind of profession requiring trust.
I'm not sure what Mike can do now that he's out.
I do hope the show goes back in the fall to more funny merger and negotiation deals. I also REALLY hope they go back and stick it to Anita Gibbs (the US attorney who put Mike away). Then you find out Gibbs is married to Gallow DUN DUN DUN.

well i was right about mike getting out and frank getting screwed, although i expected more shit with frank to happen after mike left. seems the writers really did want to get this prison shit over and done with. i wonder what they have planned for next

"What are you talking about?" has got to be the most said full-length sentence in Suits.
|
Well the episode avoided doing the worst case scenario which is good because in my head I could have seen that going a much MUCH worse direction than it did.

The number of times Harvey said "please" in this season gotta be more than that in all the other seasons combined.
I feel like Harvey's approach to every issue in this season has been: Step 1: Identify the target to strong arm (*cough* Sean *cough*) Step 2: Strong arm - if succeed proceed to Step 3, if not Step 4 Step 3: Walk away like a badass Step 4: Make puppy eyes, "Sean, please"

Harvey said to Mike "Keep your wits about you", which seemed like a weird way for him to say that point.

That episode was pretty freaking cool. I loved all the twists and turns that came about. My absolute favorite part was when Mike just completely rekt Gallo. Excited for the season break finale.

Agreed. And I'm glad that Cameron Dennis didn't make things worse.

Harvey is the only character for me that has consistently improved season after season. There are a lot of aspects to him now. I like seeing him worry about Mike, take the diplomatic way with Cahill then turn on the badassery the next minute.
All the other characters are pretty one dimensional, maybe with the exception of Jessica (still a great character).

The character who's fallen the most from my graces this season has been Mike; I feel like he's done a lot of dumb things since he entered prison that he wouldn't have done a few seasons ago. I still like him though.
Also, I hope that Kevin returns in the future; he's probably the most sincerely good-natured and non-opportunistic person in the whole damn show... possibly because he's one of the few characters who isn't super-rich or is experiencing super-rich lifestyles from time to time. He comes across as a hard-working guy who just kinda got screwed- easy to sympathize with, especially considering the sacrifice he made to protect his wife and kids.

Mike for me too as the character that has degraded the most. I was gonna say "but only because Rachel is already at an all-time low", but actually, I'd say she has improved this season. Mike has become more innocently naive than smart these days.
