Well this was a short season. Toph kills everyone and everyone lived happily ever after

I imagine it will not only be Toph, but the swamp itself that will fight back. They've made a point of suggesting it is alive and sentient.

The episode overall is a nice little reprieve between the next major event. We get to see that, even after 3 years apart, most of the Team Avatar group is still ready to kick some butt. We see more lavabending as well, though why Bolin didn't just earth/lava bend them through the wall further away from the checkpoint is beyond me.

Also, the cliffhanger ending just reeks of us getting a Kuvira vs. Toph showdown, though I don't know how well that will turn out. This may be them trying to show that Kuvira is the strongest earthbender overall, assuming Kuvira and Toph do fight.

How Varrick magic'd it so successfully is beyond me though. The thing might end up being important since it did stop the Mechs so easily.


Also, DAAAAAAAYM, KUVIRA YOU MESSIN' WITH THE WRONG SWAMP GURL. I have never been so mad at a cliffhanger before. I can't wait to see the reactions of the Swamp and Toph. Even though it did not really punish Sokka for cutting down vines in TLA (probably due to his ignorance?) it wasn't on a scale like Kuvira is attempting to do. It is hopefully pretty spectacular when it happens. Will they show Toph as stronger or weaker than Kuvira though?
