Also, everyone is "scared" of her because... well, you don't really want to offend royalty, especially a royalty like Celestia who is so good and kind.
Well you say "good and kind"... But she kindda trolled Twilight with only sending 2 tickets in one of the earlier episodes...
Let me leave my obviously sickly and dying bird right here, next to the animal loving pony, while I go off to do other things, what's the worst that could happen? I mean its not like this "fluttershy" is chronically unable to communicate with other ponies and let me know. Also let me pretend like I don't notice that the bird is deathly ill too, I'm sure the animal loving pony won't do anything hasty that might say... get her banished and then thrown in a dungeon in the place she is banished to

It just feels like it doesn't give as much impact as the original. If you talked a bit faster(and maybe added some sort of SFX on the background?), it would probably be much better.
Still, I couldn't stop laughing at it. "I AM a horse."
Ok so here we go.. For some reason I watched the whole series. Didn't want to judge it by just a few episodes so I thought I would watch 12 but since the entire series was 26 I just continued to see if the ending was good.
First thoughts was I could see why people thought it was well-made but I didn't find what made it so popular. So I kept on watching as I said, didn't want to judge it early.
Was some good jokes here and there, obviously jokes that aren't ment for young girls, like the drink got spiked one.
By the end of it I still didn't find anything magical about the series. The only two episodes which was really good was the Rainbow Boom and the Cutie Mark Chronicles.
Got to say though. some characters grew on me. especially Spike. Still hate Pinkie Pie and disliked Rarity as well (but at least she had some good moments). Fluttershy was nice until the very last episode where she sort of died for me. Twilight was nothing special either. But Rainbow dash is quite awesome, 20% more awesome than the other ponies.
All in all, was a decent series (amazing for being a kid show about ponies but that doesn't take away from the fact it was nothing more than decent overall). It was way higher than my expectations though but I still think it's overrated and I would never think I would watch My Little Pony seriously but oh well.
That's sort of my review after watching the entire series of MLP: FiM
Has everyone seen this yet? It's a fairly humorous review of the actual MLP toys. I love how Hasbro has a picture of Princess Celestia on the box so you can see how wrong they got it.

Oh, for what made it so popular?
I'll shorten the story for you. 1- Some site said MLP:FiM was a bad show and that it was only a method to sell more dolls 2- Someone posted on 4chan /co/ that the site said that, and that the show was actually good 3- People on /co/ liked the show and started spamming the forum with pony images 4- Mods banned pony images from /co/, they migrated to /b/ 5- /b/ spammed ponies in order to troll haters 6- Bronies started to rise and people started to actually make fansites 7- ponies were banned three times from /b/ before ponychan was created, and now ponychan is the /b/ for ponies 8- The "cult" created to "counter-troll" the trolls actually generated a gigantic fanbase and fan-made content, such as fanfics, fanarts, fan-music, etc
So basically, people tried to say the show was bad, but since it is good, people loved it even more.

The whole summary of why MLP is so amazing is pretty much similar to my story on why I like the show, heh.
Know Your Meme actually did a pretty good overview of how it came to be (basically Zephirdd's list in video form).
Bio: After being hooked into the fandom with a pony/starcraft 2 crossover, Pineapple stumbled onto Equestria Daily and started submitting terrible fanfic. After a post about the ridiculous queues of content that gets sifted through, he thought about giving something back to the community... so joined the pre-readers!
Since then Pineapple has tried to keep up with the artists and writers training grounds on deviant art in the desperate hope he can write/draw something to be proud of. In the meantime, he plods through the inbound fanfics and does his best to pick out the gold, and offer tips on shining everything else.
UNSHORN FETLOCKS, BANISH IT TO THE MOON
Somepony find a way to contact him and include him in this thread! :D And also on the IRC channel #tlponies >_>

Well at least you gave it a good go. Character likes/dislikes are a big part of the appeal though, "20% more awesome" has already entered your lingo :D
lol my original skepticism aside i watched the recommended episodes and its quite hilarious i definitely see how it could be addicting. Although pinky pie you are so aggravating : p

You'll grow to like Pinkie. I hated her at first because she was annoying and retarded, but then she became hilarious and random.
It's actually a great example of the show. As others have stated, it's a very character-driven show, so the more you watch, the better it gets.
